I had an absolutely terrible experience with Whisk Cake Bakery (formerly known as Lauras Cake Bakery). I agree that some reviews are sketchy; however, please take my word when I say go elsewhere! I ordered a cake for my daughters fourth birthday in September. I sent multiple images of examples for cakes to the number they provided. I was also extremely thorough in my attempt to describe (in addition to the pictures) what I wanted in our cake. It was confirmed that my cake would be as described. When I picked the cake up, the icing was sliding off of the cake. The cake appeared to be "sweating" on the top and sides. I was told that I couldnt speak with the owner. I was told that it would be fixed by the cake decorator that was coming in. My cake was "fixed" in five minutes and still looked terrible. I have before and after pictures to prove this (if I can figure out how to upload them, I will do so). I was still told that I couldnt speak with the owner, and they stated that no refund would be given. After standing there and making my voice heard (and refusing to leave), someone supposedly got in contact with the owner and stated that a refund would be issued, BUT...it had to be issued by the owner herself. Knowing that the whole ordeal seemed very unprofessional, I demanded a written confirmation stating that the order would be refunded. Two very young girls were running the bakery this day (one of which wrote up my "confirmation" of refund). One girl was very upset and stated that customers have been unhappy a lot. In summmary, multiple attempts have been made to receive my money. Ive called approximately 6-10 times on different days. I spoke with a couple of people. I was, once again, promised that the owner would be in contact. Ive still heard nothing. Everytime I try to call the bakery number (a cell phone number), no one ever answers. Im waiting on my refund, and Im determined to get it back...even if it means going to Small Claims Court.

DO NOT GO TO LAURAS BAKERY & CAKE STUDIO FOR YOUR WEDDING CAKE!!!!! We paid $855 for a cake that was not difficult to make & it looks absolutely awful. I couldve made a better cake myself. The cake was delivered the day of my wedding & it was not anything like the picture I gave to the owners the day of my consultation. (I did not want fondant, just butter cream & 4 tiers. That was the only difference.) The first picture Im posting is what it was supposed to look like. The cake was toppling over when it was delivered!! Literally falling over!!! Also, the gold hearts on the cake were YELLOW. The lady who delivered it refused to fix the cake. You could see the cake through the icing, the icing was not evened out on the cake!!!! I am posting pictures of this cake so you all can see it. Absolutely awful. Also, we ordered a gold cake stand & she brought a silver one!!!! My parents refused to even let her set the cake on the stand it was that bad. I am not recommending this place to ANYONE!!! Horrible customer service & not even an apology about how awful it was. Mind you, we HAD to pay 30 days in advance THE FULL AMOUNT. Absolutely awful. experience was by Adrian Alexandra Hildebrand

I dont usually write reviews but this experience was horrible! My friends paid $855 for a wedding cake that was not difficult to make & it looked awful. The cake was delivered on her wedding day but didnt look anything like the picture they gave them. The cake was falling over , the icing wasnt even (you could see the cake through the icing) and the cake didnt match her colors. The lady who delivered it refused to fix the cake! Very horrible costomer service and they didnt even offer to give a refund! Side note: They are blocking and deleting everyone on Facebook that gives them a bad report. Its sad that this business is going that far to cover themselves when they should own up to their mistake and give a refund. Remember, the costomer is always right, and in this case.. They definitely are!

First I want to say, all the bad reviews are within the past month and they all say the same thing. So one person had a bad experience and had all their friends apparently jump on the bandwagon to write a bad review. Since none of these other people have even been here I thought I would write one of my own review. Last year, August 15th, I got married and Lauras bakery did our wedding cake and cupcakes. We use the wooden tree stand display everything. Everything looked absolutely perfect, I couldnt have asked for anything better. Everyone had such great complement for how the cupcakes and cake and tree stand look and how everything tasted. Im really glad that I went to Lauras bakery and I hope other people do not let this petty person sway their decision and then to go here.

Ordered a cake, paid in advance $65 i said it was for a bbq to celebrate July birthdays, gender neutral, no red (not a fan of red dye #40), light colors as there would be kids and i didnt want anything that would stain their faces or clothes or God forbid my furniture. What i ended up with is a cake with no decoration, light neutral colors or otherwise, 2 ugly places in the icing and the writing in the 1 color i specified I didnt want. AND i had to wait nearly 10 minutes as even tho it was sitting waiting to be picked up, the woman said a place on the icing needed to be "fixed". When i complained, mostly about the red, I was told well all it says is neutral colors and pushed a paper to sign at me and kept offering to carry it to my car. Ill never be back again.

Is this place even still open? I received an email from Mike and Laura back in December about making my wedding cake and I corresponded back and forth with them a few times, even sent them a picture of the style of wedding cake we are looking for and asked to set up a consultation and then never heard back. They stopped responding to emails. I tried to email them again this morning and received a message back from gmail saying they were unable to send my email to that address. I can no longer find their facebook page. It seems after reading these reviews perhaps we are better off going elsewhere. I think its rude to just stop responding to a customer for no reason. If you were closing your shop then why bother sending out an email offering your services?
