Yes I hated it. Absolutely worst experience Ive ever had. Service was horrible. Thought our waitress went home after we placed our order. Finally 40 mins after watching people come order and eat their food and leave I went to manager to find out where our order was the issue was poorly addressed and excuses were made. They made me feel as though this is the way things always are here. At that time the order was then cooked. So after an hour of waiting food arrived and they tried to charge us full price. I had to address that as well. Customers are not important to this business and the poorest management Ive ever witnessed. Needless to say I will never return to this business again if you want to call it that. Stay away from this place. Wish it would have burned completely to the ground when it caught fire. Worst place in bloomington. Hope it catches fire again. ☺

I went in to the Deli today and to begin with they wouldnt serve us lunch...at 2:30pm. So I ordered my breakfast of biscuits and sausage gravy and it came out cold. So did the girls beside me. There were literally 2 small chunks of sausage in the "gravy". We sent it back and asked for sausage in our sausage gravy and the waitress told us "thats just how it is, but I can bring you some sausage for you to put in it." without making it clear she was going to charge me for the sausage for my sausage gravy. I sat there eating my flour paste with the sausage I put in myself (and paid extra for) with no water refill. Then she took my Discover card and came back ten minutes later to let me know they dont take Discover cards. Everything about my experience today was awful and Im so upset I had to get a crappy quality breakfast at 2pm for the price.

We went there at 1:30pm today. We left at 3pm after waiting over an hour for our food. Honestly, they must have just forgotten about us. The waiter brought us out some potatoes after 50 minutes (yes) that were good bc our food was taking so long but that didnt help the fact that we and our kids were starving & frustrated. We were the only ones with kids in the place and the only people without food. I ordered a cold chicken salad sandwich & grilled cheese for the kids. 70 minute wait. Additionally there was only one working bathroom that was nasty. Ive heard great reviews but we will never eat there again.

Do not waste your money! The food is poorly seasoned, usually cooked long before you get it, and rarely prepared how you ask the staff. I have tried breakfast and lunch at this place and generally the eggs taste like vomit and the chicken is so hard you cant chew it. On top of this is a waitstaff of college students who ignore you on the best of days and are rude to you on the worst of days. It is far better to walk the extra block in any given direction to go to places with similar food but better service and atmosphere.

I really like this place. Great diner breakfast fair that is creative without being pretentious. If you go on a weekend or IU event week though, be prepared for lines literally out of the door and a very loud and hectic atmosphere. I prefer to go on weekdays to avoid the crowds. I recommend Paxtons Potatoes (home fries with sausage gravy, cheddar cheese and scallions on top) and the Cinnamon Roll pancake. Pancakes are huge and they are always doing interesting daily and seasonal specials.

Couldnt cook the bacon as ordered, it was limp and fatty. Sent back twice. Told "if its cooked too much people sent it back" I just wanted it crispy!! To much to ask?Waitress never came back with the bacon and I wasnt checked on until my other food was finished. Then the waitress acted as if she was doing me a favor to taking it off the bill. Never had an experience like this here and very suprised/offended by a simple breakfast experience.

I ordered a roast beef sandwich and it was the wimpiest seven dollar sandwich Ive ever had. Seemed like a a tenth of a pound of roast beef, at best. The bread was not particularly fresh. The homemade potato chips were in fact excellent, but did not make up for the poor entree. ETA: I ended up here recently for breakfast recently, and it was delicious--also HUGE portions (I had the breakfast burrito--couldnt finish it).

For a vegetarian this place is GREAT. I Love their subs. Their customer service is a little lacking - I came in at night to order something to go. I shouted and yelled but I had to walk INTO THE KITCHEN to get someones attention. When they finally finshed my order I wasnt sure where to go to get it since they have two booths and the guy went back into the kitchen so I had to wait for him to come back out.

Owner is not the greatest at running his business under pressure. I havent been back to this place since being asked to leave 12 years ago for merely reading the HT in a booth after my meal. Not being able to substitute items and thus allowing food waste also seems a little wrong. This time he flipped out because we were "in the line of fire" while waiting for a table in the waiting area.

Village Deli is great, the service is pretty fast, its centrally located and the food is just what youd expect from a college town staple. The one exception is the burger. IT IS INCREDIBLE! I dont go there for breakfast much anymore, there are other places I prefer, but that burger will bring me back again and again.

Breakfast served all day. Sausage gravy is wonderful & very peppery. Staff is very friendly. Carryout available. Full order of biscuits & gravy plus 2 eggs: $7.45 + tax. Decent size portions. Hoosier scramble is veey good. Will be busy morning after big party nights. Just a good popular Bloomington diner downtown.

Bloomington Institution. Has a very good breakfast, and famous for their pancakes. They have outdoor seating, and are very dog friendly. Even cut up the dogs pancake and put it in a bowl for our dog. They do close early, 6pm, and they also get very crowed, especially on the weekends, so make sure to show up early.

The food is good. Its not over priced but DONT go here if you dont have a lot of time. We went, was seated right away, the waitress took our order promptly, and than we sat, and sat, and sat. It was two deli sandwiches. I could have went out and shot the turkey, plucked it and baked it in that time. :)

Legendary Kirkwood landmark does a brisk business with simple, hearty classic breakfast foods and lunch sandwiches. My kids adore the piled-high whipped cream on the hot cocoas, as well as the hub-cap sized pancakes. If it werent for the long lines, this would be our Sunday tradition.

Put our name in and we were told about a 20 min wait, we still hadnt been called so we went elsewhere. Staff seemed pretty unorganized and chaotic. Plus there were only a couple seats for people to sit while they waited, and there were lots of people waiting.

Very racist-like behavior. I, my wife and sister waited 30 minutes in line for our turn on the list. They seated 6 other people who were after me in the list. I will not recommend the restaurant to any non-White person. If yo are White, the pancakes are good.
