This is a pretty solid Thai restaurant in downtown Wilmette. We noticed the blue awning during our stroll on Saturday and decided to stop in for lunch. We ordered two Thai iced coffees and lunch specials for the red curry and the kung pao, both with tofu. We ordered the curry extra spicy, but it wasnt. The kung pao could have also used more spice. Even so, they were both good, with the kung pao winning between the two. The salad was fine, with a ginger dressing that could have used more ginger. The special also came with miso soup and an appetizer. We got the fried tofu (competently crispy) and the crab rangoon (no detectable crab presence, which was a good thing for us). The crab rangoon wins here, but we recommend both. Most importantly, the ingredients were fresh and the ratios generous. I dont think Ive ever had so many tofu cubes in a bowl of miso before!

My experience with Dowize seems to go against the majority of reviews, but I really did not enjoy my lunch experience here. I ordered a beef noodle dish, and specified "EXTRA spicy" in the Grubhub comments field. What I received was an extremely bland chicken dish. I also ordered the tom kha soup, which is typically one of my favorite Asian soup dishes. However, not from Dowize. This tom kha had far too much coconut milk, and the cilantro leaves were clearly old. The flavor was just all wrong. It was really just disgusting. Maybe they have good sushi and thats why the reviews are good, but I probably wont be ordering from here again.

The one thing I really enjoyed about Dowize is that the atmosphere and experience is great here. The food came in a unique little box, and everything was clean. However, the taste didnt match that. My choice of Pad See Eiw was very bland and the pot stickers were equally bland. That said, the food was still good, fresh, and tasty, to an extent. Other Thai locations have different sauces and recipes that taste much better. The service was excellent, and the prices are great. Id recommend for a one or two time thing, but no more than that.

Friendliest staff and tastiest Thai youll find in these parts. A broad range of well executed dishes. Order the duck curry with lychee for a taste treat. Fresh ginger ale, too. Super kid friendly atmosphere and menu. My 7 yr-old boy goes for the "Pluto" combo every time: miso soup, chicken satay, rice, broccoli, juice. "Now thats satisfying," he says.

Ordered spider roll, orange chicken and lard nar noidles with seafood comvination. The roll was very small and so so. Orange chicken had more peppers than meat and very little rice. And the noodles were horrible. First and last time here.

Great food! I only tried one entree with rice and Tom yum soup. I actually didnt care for the soup. Ive had much better, but well return for the food, no doubt!
