Last Thursday, I came here to for a meeting for a meetup group. From the outside, you can tell this is a large place. It almost like a mini brick mansion from the outside, a gorgeous building. Almost impossible to miss while driving. The building draws your eye. Upon entering the establishment, you will notice the wide open dining area with the high ceilings and the full beautiful bar on the right. The building has wooden floors and clean white walls along with the large windows with the light shining in really creates an inviting space for gatherings. The service was very prompt and professional, always checking in on us at numerous times during the night for drinks and serving our entrees. I eventually ordered the steak fajitas, something I normally order at these type of restaurants. The ticket time was about 10-12 minutes from the time we ordered. No one in the group ordered an appetizer. When my order arrived, I was somewhat surprised by the presentation. Im used to receiving the protein, onions, and peppers on the hot sizzling skillet with the rice and beans on the side. However this came out together on the skillet. The skillet seemed hot, but not sizzling. The flour tortillas were kept warm and soft with a cloth. Then I got the plate of guacamole, lettuce and tomatoes on a separately. It was interesting that this didnt come with shredded cheese, also the portion of diced tomatoes was very small. When I finally loaded up a tortilla with all of the ingredients and took a bite, I noticed immediately something was missing. The steak and the veggies seemed very bland, it could have used more seasoning. Also, it tasted like the steak and the veggies were overdone slightly. The steak itself kind of chewy. The meat could have used some more seasoning. All in all, the entree was okay, but not bad. This restaurant seems like a great place to gather and have a drink with an immaculate building and decor with great front of the house service, however for what I had paid for, the steak fajitas were okay at best. Not a good value on that front. Regardless, I will give this place another chance. Perhaps it was a bad night.

While the food was fine, I was very disappointed by the service last night. There were numerous fire ants crawling on our table and silverware. When I complained to the hostess and management, they simply claimed that they came from outside and moved us to another table. I expected more from them. Even after we had been seated at a new table, our server was very impatient with taking our order and couldnt simply wait for us to be prepared to order. The food we ordered was a tad bit bland, but otherwise fine. After everything else that happened in the beginning of our dining experience, I would not return here.

Really good food, great service, great venue. Chips are nice, thick and "corny" tasting. Salsa is fresh and has some spice. I asked for spicy salsa and was told this was spicy. It was delicious and spicier than many normal salsas but not as hot as most Mexican salsas received when spicy is requested. The Pollo al Pastor tacos were good. Served on corn tortillas that were fresh. Margarita was tasty and not too sweet. Would definitely go back when in the area.

Visiting from Indy and decided to give them a shot. We were seated very quickly and had drinks on the table within a few minutes. Waiter was very attentive and after placing our order had our food to us really fast. Food was very good and had the right touch of spice. Our glasses were never empty and brought the check upon request. We will return again when visiting Chicago another day.

Loved the ambiance felt like an hacienda. Very relaxed & quiet. I liked that they had Victoria and other imported beers. Im Nicaraguan and love their seasoning and service. I typically dont like going to Spanish restaurants because they cant live up to our culture but Ill definitely come back! Food was bomb!

Have been coming here since they were in the strip mall by La Peep. By far the best Mexican food and drinks this side of 26th street. Our waiter Ruben is the best. Remembers what we like and dont like. Very comfy non stuffy environment. Highly recommended.

Came in from Seattle to Chicago and decided to come here after looking up the reviews. Place is absolutely awesome and will definitely make it a stop everytime I come to Chicago. Friendly people family owned and operated. Bartender Kate is fun also.

Fantastic Mexican food with a great price. The burritos, tacos, and enchiladas are amazing. They use delicious ingredients. The drinks(margaritas) are fantastic as well. If you are in the area and craving Hispanic food, come check this place out!

Good service and good atmosphere but the food is far from authentic and not all that good. If only the food was more authentic Mexican and not "Americanized fast food Mexican" thats honestly a glorified Taco Bell then it would be 5 stars.

Being from Colorado, I know good Mexican and this is the best Mexican food I have had since I moved into the Chicago land area. The food is amazing, the salsa is awesome and they do gluten free very well!

Great service, excellent salsa and margaritas. The food is super consistent. You get the same meal every time. We wont go anywhere else for Mexican, because it cant compare to Hay Caramba

Ive eaten at Hay Caramba for 15 years and have never been disappointed. Their service system (everyone does what needs to be done no matter whose table it is) works great. Love the guacamole!

Very nice elegant restaurant. Food is OK but servers need to be little more professional and smile more friendly. Nobody force them to work there i hope ?

The food is fair. Portions are sufficient. For a heavy eater be prepaired to order more food. Appearance of the rest is really nice & location is great.

The best chicken dishes. The chicken tacos are moist and very well flavored. The chicken enchiladas are excellent. We go there at least twice a month.

Have never had a problem with food or service, but I feel the prices can be a little high. It helps that they offer lunch specials though.
