Much better mexican food in the Oswego/Montgomery/Aurora area. Id give the food a 3. Total experience a 2. You have your pick of 20 authentic Mexican food places with 10 miles. Ordered two trays of food and they gave me the same amount of condiments/hot sauce as if I ordered 2 tacos. Insisted I pay extra if i wanted more and said "one per customer". Assinine. Being strict with morons that ask for a year supply of sauce for one burrito makes sense from a business perspective. Angering an entire group of people at a party that order trays of food does not. Poor customer service will doom a place quick. Good luck to Salsa Verde if they continue on this path. I now have an entire group of people that wont go back and will tell their friends the same. What a shame.

Please save your money and dine somewhere else! If you dine here you might as well just throw your money in the trash. The beans tasted like they were straight from the can, the rice was dry and chewy, the ground beef chimichanga was packed with 90% beans and 10% ground beef. My girlfriend had the chicken tamale and when she opened it the masa fell apart in crumbles and it was stuffed with more potatoes and carrots than chicken, she also had a steak, ground beef and chicken taco and they were all dry. The restaurant nickel and dime you for everything. Our order was like $30 because the charged for EVERYTHING!!!

Best Mexican food in the area! I love the Chile Relleno, elotes and the salsa bar! The salsa bar is a little disappointing in the fact that they only provide 1 ounce cups that are only good for the liquid salsas not the chunky ones. Maybe management will see this and order a little bit bigger cups? They also have combo plates that unfortunately only include a drink weekdays before 3pm? Last I knew, "combo" usually includes a drink. Why the time constraints? Other than that and the somewhat high prices for certain menu items, this place is awesome and I highly recommend!

Update: The food wasnt as good as the first couple of times. There was absolutely no flavor in the vegetables and the habanero salsa was as spicy as black pepper. They need to update the vegetables they use in the vegetarian tacos, broccoli is way too big, maybe use mushrooms. The tacos are too expensive to not taste good. Original 5 Star rating: This place was awesome. I visited the Yorkville one not too long ago and didnt like it. I was hesitant this time, but Im so glad I took a chance on going in. Loved it and the service was great.

Taco Tuesday is definitely worth it. $1.00 per taco and only $0.50 for cheese and sour cream. You can definitely get 3 tacos and only pay an extra dollar for the cheese and cream. I like their selection of salsas. Ive had the churros and rice as well and theyre both pretty good. The guacamole is not my favorite, but it gets the job done. I havent been there any day other than a Tuesday, so I cannot say what the rest of the week is like. Ive always been able to get a seat even during their dinner rush.

I am not Mexican but my husband is very Mexican from Chicagos little village and we were shocked at how the owner of this restaurant charges for everything; salsa, sour cream, and everything else under the sun. Los Comales in Aurora is true Mexican food with true orchata unlike this place that gives rice water loaded with sugar. Too bad because the look and marketing of this place has really tried. Unfortunately, screwing customers as much as possible predicts the restaurants demise. Too bad!

I tried to go get a to go order about 5 minutes before closing and as I was walking up to the door one of the employees rushed to the door and locked it. I watched him lock me out from about 10 feet from the door. I get that they were trying to close, but there was a few more minutes and all I wanted was a bowl of queso for my pregnant wife. Other than that, the food is just ok, but the only saving grace is the queso and the salsa bar.

I have visited MANY times and never been disappointed! The Pozole is incredible, but my favorie must be the tripas tacos. Im a San Antonio girl and of all the places I have tried since moving here in 92, these are BY FAR the best!!! The dollar tacos are a steal on tues, and the salsa/condiment bar and atmosphere put it over the top. Oh, and dont forget dessert. Try the fried ice cream. Be preparex to share.....youll thank me!

Salsa verde has great food but most of all, their staff is amazing. My son has autism and the staff helped make him happy when he was having a meltdown. When other patrons looked at my son like he was misbehaving, the great people at Salsa Verde came and asked what they could do to help. They have definitely won a customer for life. I wish I could give more stars. Thanks Salsa Verde for having an open and caring heart.

We have been to Salsa Verde in Oswego MANY times and it is always delicious. We usually get a to-go order and have never had a problem. We also love the free salsa bar, which also has pico, cilantro, radishes, etc. I have always had great service and I even called the manager once to compliment a specific staff member, but told him the staff is great overall. Highly recommend this restaurant!

A friend & I went after church last Sunday. The staff was very friendly & helpful. Food was delicious! The platters are very large & have enough food for two. The salsa bar offered a variety of items including different salsas. The only downside was the very small cups. The way around that is to take your plate to the salsa bar. It was a great experience.

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE. COME ON WHITE PEOPLE THIS IS NOT MEXICAN FOOD. COME TO AURORA FOR THAT. TACO BELL IS BETTER THAN THIS PLACE. THERES NO SEASONING, ZERO HOSPITALITY, RUDE STAFF. Ugh! Ordered a steak torta with rice and beans. Im at work and all i been doing is running to the bathroom. Then having cold sweat feeling woozy then it finally happend i barfed up all the food i had from here. I believe it was food poisoning. Food was good but hidden bacteria on the food. Perhaps it was the steak. Yeah im done here

Very well organized menu & friendly staff. If you like Chipotle, you would like this for sure. I especially like the salsa bar. A must try ! If you love spicy, ask the person for their house special sauce and theyl bring it out for you.
