We wanted to get a bite to eat before going to the movies. So, my husband and I decided on Lake Street Kitchen, heard it was new and read the negatives. What we witness was underage drinking (yes you can tell that some members of this group I witness at the bar were under-aged), overpriced mediocre food and very watered down drinks and when we wanted to voice our complaints to the management we were given the brush off because they were at the bar and clearly did not want to be bothered. Before I came to this establishment I read the review in the Oak Park Patch and Chicago Mag, clearly how this "so called place" received glowing reviews is beyond my comprehension. PS. Why would you give us grease stained menus, that just tells that the owner clearly does not care for this "establishment." I ordered an over priced grilled cheese (not very appealing) and it was dry. My husband ordered the sloppy plate of pork. I will not get into the drinks because clearly there was little or no alcohol in the drinks, whatever.

Any of these negative reviews are just butthurt negative nellies who hate themselves. Based on their tone, they were probably rude and snobby to begin with. This place is always, ALWAYS on point! The staff is the friendliest ever, and super knowledgable about their craft beers and wines and mixed drinks, with a wide selection. Prices are pretty comparable to anything else in Oak Park but the atmosphere is certainly classier than most places in Oak Park, yet comfortable at the same time. They have unique menu items, and itss not necessarily a burger n fries place, but the food is really really good. The spinach pear salad is the best. Salad. Ever. Pulled pork, meatballs, flatbreads all on point. Super fresh ingredients, and a relatively healthy menu all in all. Definitely worth comin in.

I dont get these negative reviews. Ive eaten there four times, and drank at the bar twice. The bartender is a former Bar Louie guy, so hes not a mixologist, but I thought the house cocktails were pretty good. I had three great meals and one so-so. Ive always had good service and thought theyve handled the initial Oak Park "new restaurant crush" pretty well. The owner was onsite every time I ate and made a point of stopping by to see how we were doing. I think its a great addition to downtown Oak Park. Looking forward to the barbecue place theyre opening on Madison in Forest Park.

Good food and drinks, with drink disks every day. They do not have a friend, which we consider a good thing. So no French fries or the like. But they have a wood burning oven for small pizzas that are really good. TVs to watch sporting events can be seen from about anywhere inside. They do have sidewalk seating which is nice in the summer. Menu is not typical of pub fare - more high end crafted items.

This is a post-movie, date night favorite due to its late hours and beer and wine selection. The food weve gotten here has never needed too much of a wait and has always been tasty. The only concern is the prices. I mean, its on par with Chicago prices but not everybody has the cash to make this a regular spot each week.

Nice atmosphere and great beer and liquor selection. I had the fish tacos, which did not have much flavor. The side of black beans had great flavor and saved the plain white rice from being too bland. My wife had the 24 hour beef, which ended up being quite dry. Friendly staff and quick service were a plus.

I went here last night. On August 4, 2015. I didnt realize it was closing soon when I went here with my date. But they still let us in. They also opened the kitchen for us and served food which was a definite plus. And the Sangria was amazing. I will definitely come back here in the future.

The food was good and reasonably priced. The beer list was above average and had some very tasty brews. I came with a large party that stayed for a fairly long time, and the waitress was excellent. She was on top of everyones orders and was extremely nice, even as the hours ticked by.

Located in the former Cosi sandwich location, this new restaurant in the heart of downtown Oak Park has fantastic beers on tap and really great food. Excellent flatbreads and burgers. Service has been great each and every time. The menu changes frequently so come often!

Delicious food, best California club Ive ever had. I did see an opportunity for staff to build relationships with customers. Bartender had his back to the bar most of the time rather than chatting up guests. I wouldnt object to coming back with friends though.

Very nice! New, and it is a very fun addition to low-key Oak Park! Welcoming staff who are always cracking jokes and making people laugh. Very freindly to me and I am a kid! Amazing food, especially for dinner. I recommend the flatbread which is awesome!

Food was generally very good except the "24 Hour Beef Burgandy". It as as it was kept warm for 24 hours. Very dry. Like eating cardboard. Service was poor. Dropped off meal never came back. We had to go and track her down to get some more gravy.

Great bar and restaurant on a busy downtown Oak Park street. They take their beers seriously and have 12-14 rotating taps so you can always try something different. Outdoor patio seating in the summer and cozy indoor seating for the winter. :)

Place is open later than a lot of others in Oak Park. Great food, you can tell it is all fresh ingredients. Drinks are a bit on the higher side but it is worth it for the location and atmosphere. Good for food and a few well made drinks.

The macaroni and cheese was smaller than a box of Kraft and cost $18. For the price, Id rather get some better food. The service was pretty slow as well. There are nicer places to eat in Downtown Oak Park.

Eclectic menu with good drinks. On summer days you can hang outside on the sidewalk and enjoy the weather. The downtown Oak Park area is full of good little restaurants like this.

A little pricey but the flatbread is delicious. Its something you crave and I havent found anything similar in the Chicago area. Outdoor seating when the weather is nice.

Good food and service. Good selection of drafts, although they were a little expensive. I like that the draft list shows the alchohol content of each one.

A great place to stop by for food and drink. Fair prices. If youre feeling BBQ more stop by the sister restaurant Piggyback in Forest Park - fantastic!

Good food menu and some decent beer choices. Noteworthy dishes include the grilled octopus on their appetizer menu, meatballs, and their taco selections.
