I am just not creative enough to invent my dining experience at this once decent establishment. Not too many options for late night but I did not want to do the TGI Fridays thing. Limited menu, sort of... so I decided on the loaded tater tots, with BBQ sauce and ranch on the side, and brisket sliders - heck, cant go wrong with that, right? I excuse myself to go wash my hands and return to find an order of bacon french fries with what turned out to be Buffalo wing sauce that scalded my mouth. I made eye contact and told the server these are not tater tots, her reply: Oh, ok. let me take the fries back. In the meantime the sliders show up. Tots come back out and i cask for a few sides of mayo; reply: Oh, ok let me get that for you. Never came back. The sliders were awful. Dry with little substance on somewhat stale untoasted nearly stale buns. One bite and I was finished. 20 minutes go by and the server returns: can I get you anything else? Umm, the check please. Oh, ok,. Ill be right back. Now, if I am a server knowing that the mayo never was brought out, the order was wrong to begin with and a customer had a plate full of food left, I would ask: is everything ok? did you not enjoy the brisket?? Nope. Nothing. That is just wrong. Not even an offer to bring a to go container!!! Terrible. I just paid $27.47 for a small plate of tater tots, and an iced tea. TGI Fridays is looking better and better. Is that even possible??

So Im giving Bar Louie 5 stars because I really like them. However my experience today was horrible. I visited the Oak Park location for the umpteen time and let me tell you if it was my first time I would never go back. We waited over 20 minutes for our waitress then was told to order everything at once because she was the only one out there. I asked for water never got it. My drink was good. I ordered boneless wings and spinach and artichoke dip. The wings were borderline hot. The dip was lukewarm cheese not melted. I sent it back and the cheese was melted but it was still lukewarm. Meanwhile my dinner came and it was cold. So I asked for a container to go. Thankfully the dip was given to us free. The manager was supposed to come by but never did. And to top it off we were freezing the whole time. Several tables were not clean and I counted at least 5 couples leave. One lady was rubbing her sons arm to keep him warm and he was at least 8 or 9 years old. And old couple came in and moved dirty dishes over to sit down. Bad experience all over.

The only reason this review is three stars and not 1 is because of the food. I would give rhe food a 4 star review. But the service makes the delicious food not worth dining in for. If you enjoy sitting at a table for hours without getting noticed then this place is for you. After receiving water and 1 beverage, the waitress did not give us any information whether it was her name or any specials. I will say the app came fairly quickly but still our waitress didnt even stop by the table. There were quite a few people just walking around and no one helped us. After arriving at 6 we finally got out dinner at 8:10At that point we asked for boxes and rhe check immediately because we just wanted to leave and we had to then wait for her to pick up the check for another 20 minutes. Im sorry but just no. Thats not an okay amount of time. We only saw our waitress three times, for waters and orders, for dinner order, and when she dropped off the check.

Bar Louie in Oak Park doesnt quite represent Oak Park. This is a diversed community and reflects that in most places. I was there to place a carry out order...with resistance, the bar tender acknowledged me and my son. From that point on we were ignored. So to avoid any outbursed i walked to grab one thing and said i would be back. Upon arriving, i mentioned to the bar tender im back and the food should be ready. He contibued to serve, refusing to go back and check. I asked the other server to go abd check. She did and it was ready. I gave her my card, she gave it to him and he threw it on the counter while hr finished what be was doing. I decided to call the mgr once i returned to work. He pretended to be the mgr. I hung up. Bottom line....Bar Loiue need to own the word "discrimination " because thats exactly what that was. Oh, and yes, im an African American! bar tender a

Sadly not as good as it use to be. Poor service, (one example of a few, I am 1 of 4 people sitting at the bar I ask one if the bartender for a glass of ice water I got a, "sure no problem" it took 10 minutes to get it, first he had to make 3 glasses of ice water and bring them to a table and then he say down at an empty booth for a few minutes Im guessing that making ice water is really tiring) and not great food, (it was supposed to be salted caramel pecan with frosted cake in a Mason jar, cake tasted like sweet refrigerator so basically give me half of a praline and let me lick the inside of the refrigerator and you got the same thing) but the price sure have gone up. :-(

Seemed like a decent neighborhood place, sort of a non-chain Applebees or Chilis. Nice staff, helpful on orders and selection, and helpful with splitting checks among a group. Decent drink specials and half-off apps from 4-7pm at least most weeknights. A flatbread and wing kind of place. Big restaurant, so I cant imagine there being a seating issue. Good for a group event or meeting, as it was relatively quiet, which is what I went for--an informal group meeting over drinks. Big, clean bathrooms. Parking across the street can be tough to find, but if you can find a spot its free in the evening.

I used to like this place a lot but after going yesterday. I had to change my mind. I wasnt too happy about the atmosphere it was really dead & there were two tables that looked like they hadnt been cleaned. The mess was just there. Probably because it seemed to me that they were short staffed! The young lady that waited on my friend & me you could tell she wasnt having a good day unfortunately. The bathroom was a total mess. Looked horrible blood & garbage everywhere. The food had no seasoning. The drinks were way to Potent for my taste! I was in shock! Dont think Id ever go back.

Tonight was my first time at Bar Louie and I was not at all impressed. Walked in the door and was told to sit anywhere we wanted. Not a problem if someone would have acknowledged us within a timely manner after that. We waited at least 15 mins before someone even came by our table. Our server was nice but not at all attentive. Pretzle appetizer was good. Bacon cheeseburger I ordered medium rare was overcooked. Not horrible, but probably will never go again. My daughter had the Spiked Bourbon burger which she loved.
