My cousin and I were graduating the same day and decided to book our party of 9 at Rosebud due to previous experiences. We made reservations about a month or two ahead of the day. The night of we come in and are seated. Thus began the worst dinner we have ever had at Rosebud. First off there was a party of individuals either late 20s or early 30s who were veryyyy loud in the small party riom we were in. They had been there for a while before us and we wished that the managament would have realized that no group would want to be next to loud intoxicated individuals. So we order our drinks one person orders a bowl of soup. It comes out as a cup. We ask for a bowl they take it back comes out and looks like its just been sloshed in the new bowl and comes out to be cold. So we sent it to be reheated. Throughout our wait for the meal we had to ask for refills of bread, butter, oil, and drinks. Once we get our entrees 2 individuals pastas were cold. They were sent back and came back hot, however we were highly disappointed in the fact that the one ravioli dinner had clearly only been broiled and even made one of the raviolis inedible since it had been burnt. Once we got the check we were quite surprised to see that we had not recieved anything off due to the numerous issues with our food or even given a simple apology from managment. Being such a large party and a large bill we expected to have a lot better service especially for the price point. I will make sure in the future to book our large group dinners at lou malnatis where the service was of a much higher caliber and the waitress/waiter actually deserves the large tip.

The worst customer service period. We have been coming to this establishment for 5 years for our annual Christmas party. And how do they reward us? Calling the cops. New ownership means piss poor customer service. In years past, they placed us in the back room. This year, they had two other tables with us. Because the room is long and narrow, there really isnt anywhere to stand. Our waitress (young short thin brunette) did a fantastic job assisting us. However, because they had two other tables in the room, the other waitress (an old, fat blonde waitress) was annoyed the whole evening and was extremely rude and belligerent towards our party (mind you, we had 20 people eating and drinking). As we attempted to settle our bill, the old waitress and the new owners decided to call the police because she said she overheard us saying we were driving home. The police showed up and took one of the gentlemen in our party outside to talk to him. We followed in toe to see what the issue was (as we had no idea what the problem was). As we went outside, we found out what the complaint was, we were appalled to find out what had been alleged. We asked to speak with the owner to clear this up, but he was hiding in his office avoiding conversation. Nothing fortunately happened with the police, but to go to a restaurant and have the cops called on you for no reason, is comical. So, unless you want the police called or terrible service, this is your place. Much better options (and food) downtown Naperville, so avoid this place!

Weve been giving Rosebud in Naperville business for about 20 years, since before it relocated down the street. Years ago, the quality was there, Taylor Street Vesuvio was always my favorite go-to, I couldnt find a better version dining out. (I grew up on Taylor Street.) Then after its move it seems, the quality and service became very hit or miss. Really disappointing to us, weve celebrated occasions at Rosebud, I considered it a solid choice for Italian "home cooking". A handful of years passed where each time we went, either food, service, value or all left us disappointed and resolving to not return. Yet, wed keep trying here or there, giving it a yet another chance. Last night was the last time. No good. I ordered carryout at 8:10pm: baked lasagna, baked ziti and the stuffed mushroom app. I was told 20 minutes. I arrived at 8:30, paid $60. I stood waiting for another 10-15 minutes for my food. Drive home 6 blocks, food on the table unwrapped within 10 minutes of leaving Rosebud. The mushrooms were poor; undercooked, too firm, not warm. The lasagna was skimpy and lackluster, no bigger than a 4x6 photo for $24. Again, room temp at best. The baked ziti was the only dish at the proper temperature, still hot. Quality was ok, sausage was noticeable, flavor had some spice. The real joke was the bread they included with $60 worth of food... no bigger than a 4" cut, cold and hard. Honestly, you get a nicer roll, warmed, from Portillos with an $8 salad.

This is exactly what I want when I go out for Italian food. I hate the congestion of downtown Naperville but its worth threading my truck through the swarm of Prius just to get here. Either way, the food...... The entrées here are hearty, high quality, made with fresh ingredients, and done correctly. The veal parmigiano was enormous, the cheese was very good - not some slice of prepackaged junk. The tomato sauce was outstanding. The Alfredo sauce was creamy but not too heavy and the pasta had a perfect texture. All of the desserts we tried were fantastic. I like places like this because they dont have to play up their ethnicity to appear authentic. Its honest good food the way it was intended. The place was packed when we got there but service was pretty good. Our glasses were never empty and the waiter was attentive. No complaints there at all. In all, its not much more expensive than the Olive Garden (which is the worst thing to ever victimize Italian food) the portions are good, the ingredients are fresh, and the ambiance is very nice - even if dining outside in Naperville is like living in a Gap advertisement from 1999. Judging by the threats of prison shanking from Wifey-poo if I ate her leftovers its safe to say that she liked it too.

We had reservations for 2 at 7 tonight, and we were seated pretty quickly. Our server was friendly enough and we ordered right away. The appetizer and our bottle of wine came at a reasonable amount of time, but we waited over an hour for the actual meal that never came. During the 40-45 mins after our appetizer, our waiter only checked on us once to refill our wine glasses. After waiting and finishing the bottle of wine, still no food. After another wait, we were told sorry and will be out in a few mins. About 15-20 min later, he came back, apologized and said a few more. Finally got his attention and said we would just pay for the wine and appetizer and to cancel the food. We were offered a free desert, but at this point, we were done. I get it was a Saturday night, but over an hour for food after an appetizer, when 4 tables seated after you were already served and finished is unacceptable. Absolutely will not return. It really sucked because we were seated next to the kitchen and it smelled so good. BTW, we ordered chicken marsala and alfredo. :-(
