Tonight was our 4th time we have dined at Nando and it was our best yet! All four times we have been there the food, wine, service and atmosphere have been incredible. It doesnt feel like you are in Champaign while you are there. It feels more like you are in a high end Itilian restaurant in a metro market. Trent was our waiter tonight. Trent has been our waiter before and the next time we go I will request him. Trent knows the menu, knows the wine list and is passionate about both. He also has a great sense of humor and will make your experience more enjoyable. We are very lucky in C-U to have as many great restaurants as we do but Nando is climbing to the top very quickly! I would still rank Bacaro top because of the tasting menu and wine paring option they provide along with an educated staff. However, Nando is 1.2 and gaining!

So far Ive been here twice. Pros: Ive thoroughly enjoyed both entrees Ive gotten (one was a seasonal pasta dish with butternut squash, the other was the gnocchi alla sorrentina). The gnocchi were the lightest, fluffiest gnocchi Ive ever had. Cons: The food was good, but I wish theyd been a little clearer on the menu. I was trying to avoid dairy (not a life threatening allergy, so I didnt want to make an issue of it), so I tried to pick something that didnt have cheese or cream listed on the menu. My gnocchi came smothered in melted cheese which was less than ideal. The other major con is that the place can get pretty loud. It can be kind of hard to hear your companions.

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get in touch with their inner italian self. I had a very well crafted Fettuccine Bolognese. And as funny as it was to say that it tasted just as good. I recommend saying "stronzo" very frequently when here as it shows how cultured you can be. Overall a very classy restaurant for a very classy stronzo. **UPDATE** Restaurant was incredibly slow and that became very irritating after 3 hours of bding couped up in the restaurant. Gratzi.

We were greeted right at the door. Very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Food was superb (especially the pasta). Decor and ambiance are very nice too. I was pleasantly surprised that our waiter asked about food allergies and about the timing of our meal (when certain items should be brought out). Very thoughtful, professional and considerate of all that goes into your dining experience.

Good Italian food. Authentic. Gluten free pasta is available. A little noisy, but nice interior design. I think one or two of the tables should be removed from the dining room because the table by the entrance is the worst. Good waiters. Be prepared for a slow dinner. Time to converse with friends and family. Nothing is rushed in this place. Casual attire. Suburban Chicago prices.

Nando in Champaign was disappointing to say the least. There are so many better choices in Chambana. The food was decent but nothing that I feel the need to come back for. The service was subpar. If I am paying $20 to $30 a dish, the server should not be standing at the table holding my plate of food shouting the name of the dish waiting for someone to claim it. Will not be back.

Easily one of the best restaurants in Champaign-Urbana, outstanding in its food, staff, and atmosphere. I have yet to dine there without being personally greeted by the owner, and I have yet to select anything on the menu that hasnt been among the best dishes Ive had.

We went here for a birthday celebration. Nandos easily has the most authentic Italian food in Central Illinois. The pasta is handmade. The seafood is incredibly fresh. Our experience was wonderful. This is our new favorite restaurant for special occasions!

A lot of reviewers dont get this place. If you are looking for a quiet meal, this is not for you. But if you are looking for some amazing cooking, look no further! The chefs specials are always incredible and be sure to save room for dessert!!!

Nando is the best restaurant in Champaign-Urbana, and to the person who compared the bolognese to canned sauce, you obviously have no clue because its wonderful, and I make my own. And have you had any and all of their desserts? Amazing!! Love!

For the price and reputation, service is incredibly slow. The food is good yes, but unfortunately cannot be outweighed by how terrible the experience was, especially on a not busy night. Too bad, Champaign needs a good Italian restaurant.

Excellent Italian restaurant. I recommend the gnocchi, they have a great soft and smooth texture and taste great. Skip the tiramisu for dessert, too dry. Entree prices are fair, salad and wine prices are high (the salads are good though).

It was a really great, authentic experience. Carlo was an awesome server and our table of 7 felt completely taken care of. Food was wonderful but dont expect a ton of food. But portion size was just about perfect.

Best restaurant in Champaign, IL. Food was phenomenal. Service was precise. The atmosphere was fit for any occasion. Large, or small groups would be okay. Probably not the best place to bring kids.

I had the bolognese, not bad by US standards, but well below Italian standards. The sauce tasted like canned sauce, nothing like home made bolognese. Canned sauce bought in the UK tastes better.

There was nothing special to me about the food and it was very much overpriced. A memorable meal is one where I savor every bite and I did not experience that at Nando Milanos in Champaign.

We decided to visit for our anniversary and we treated very well by Carlos. He was very helpful at assisting us to decide. On the pricy side but would definitely visit again.

It was really loud and we didnt enjoy the evening. The food was OK, but not worth the super high prices. The lady we had as a server was really good though.

Fantastic food. Get the truffles. Authentic Italian food. Everything is made fresh so take your time but it is well worth the wait. We will be back often.

Pushy staff trying to upsell, overcooked pasta beyond belief, otherwise it is one of nicer places in Champaign
