First time here and it was very very good. When we started to come in Jason met us at the door. Im disabled and normally I would take my wheelchair but I noticed that the front door was not wheelchair wide. So I walked in with my cane. Jason saw that and met me there. The food was just as good as was the service. The pot roast sandwich was to die for. The waffle fries were great. We came from Elgin and well be back. The reason for the 4 stars was because of the front door. Everything else was a 5 star. Thank you Jason for all your help from the front door to bring our food and to answering all our questions.

This is not your fathers Eatery. This is a unique combination of different American meals created in such a way that is not flimsy and very delicious. Presentation is also key with this place. From the moment you walk in, you place yourself in a comfortable atmosphere which is clean and unique. Food is a little bit on the pricey side but thats not their fault. In order to survive in the city of McHenry, you have to pay the price and unfortunately, they have to pass that on to their customers but its worth it. They have definitely earned their spot in my heart.

Today was our first time here. Cute place. Many choices on the menu and also have dailly specials. Food we had was fresh and delicious ( I had grilled chicken sandwich and my friend had a BLT sandwich, sweet potato fries...a healthy portion...and lentil soup) We were there before lunch. It was quiet; within a half an hour, it was full; but not loud. Friendly service, clean bathrooms, a gaming section that is set behind saloon-type swinging doors. I will be going back when in the area

This is my fifth time eating here in a month so Ill try to run down everything Ive eaten. Gyros - meh, just okay. Italian Beef - Id rate theirs pretty high. Their giardinara was very good. Hot dogs - very good French fries - very good Patty Melt- best Ive had in a long while unless I make it myself. Order the rye bread extra crispy though. This is an off menu item. Place is quiet, clean and the people are very friendly!

Usually, Im very impressed with meat and potatoes however, tonight I ordered the oven fried chicken dinner. I was not as impressed as I am with their other dinners. My three pieces of chicken one sigh One Wing and maybe quarter chicken breast, was very dry although the rice underneath it was very wet. Their meatloaf dinner is absolutely unbelievable as is there pot roast dinner.

We were disappointed that there isnt any baked potatoes on the menu, just fries. I ended up having the special which was spinach pie and Greek salad it was excellent but the husband got the "Greek" bowl and it was just a typical sandwich shop gyro served over fries, nothing special.

We went there for lunch, and the two ladies behind the counter didnt even acknowledge we we there. They we very rude when the finally did "help" us. Felt like we were in their way. Not pleasant at all!!!! Its a good thing their food is good. Or else u wouldnt go back.

I always enjoyed going to Meat & Potatoes and Im so glad it opened here in McHenry. They have the best staff, really really great food, and I usually win in the gambling room which pays for my whole meal.
