We were hungry and looking for someplace close by. We had eaten there once before but I wasnt doing reviews then and couldnt remember if we liked them. When we pulled in around 8ish on a Saturday night and the parking lot wasnt very full, it seemed like a strike against them. We walked in and were seated quickly. However, on the way to the table, I could see two booths with big sections of the seat covering missing and the wood tables had seen better days. Strike two. We were seated at a booth with a tear in the size of a frisbee. No lie!!! Strike three was the menu which was worn and so sticky that the pages were stuck together. This is a pet peeve of mine. I cannot stand sticky, grimy menus!!! I mean, come on people I am touching my menu and then possibly touching my food. GROSS!! If I wasnt so hangry, (yes- not hungry, hangry) this may have been the time I walked out. Alas, we stayed.... service was ok but not the greatest we have ever had. The waitress came around several times but also disappeared for awhile during mid meal. The saving grace is that the food was really good. Hubby had buffalo chicken wrap and subbed out fries for a salad with bleu cheese. Dressing was good and he likes his bleu cheese. Salad was good with fresh ingredients and yummy croutons. Wrap was a decent size with some heat and good flavor and decent chunks of chicken, but well proportioned to the lettuce,and tomatoes. Ranch dressing on the wrap. He also had an IPA which was on special sale. I had the fish and chips and subbed regular fries for parmesan garlic fries. The fries were really good with lots of parmesan and not with an overpowering garlic flavor. The fish had a crispy, light fried covering on it which when you bit into it you discovered the moist, large pieces of white fish. The fish had good flavor and not a fishy taste like some can. There were three hood sized pieces of fish. More than enough. And a mound of fries. There was also lemon, malt vinegar and a tasty tartar sauce that was delicious. I would definitely go back there because the food was so good, but next time I am figuring out what I want ahead of time so I do not have to touch their menus.

Just went to Mullens tonight with a few friends for a drink. Ive been there before for lunch and half of the food on the menu, they no longer have. thought I would give it a shot for Friday night drinks and well...when we first walked in, they had a $5 cover because of a band, we werent positive on staying there and the manager chased us outside and offered us a deal if we were to stay (should have known right then). Had a drink per person and my husband hand had a beer which was 1/4 of the way full and the rest was head???? The waiter proceeded to say let me know how much beer is in there when he delievered it to us! who does that? if the beer wasnt poored right...TRY AGAIN! Then I ordered a second drink, which was HORRIBLE, so I mentioned that it wasnt very good (sometihng I hardly ever do) and the waiter says i am not sure what we can do about it? my manager made it, so I dont really know what to say to him HELLO you say my customer doesnt like her drink can we offer her sometihng else or make her a new one? They ended up making me another drink. In the end we we getting low on drinks and the waiter then says, I will be right back to take your order 50 minutes later, we are STILL waiting! this was by far the worst experience at a bar ever. I do not recommend this place, the management is horrible and the service doesnt get any better. if you want a real Irish bar, go elsewhere!

Sorry Mullens, what a disappointment. Deciding where to watch the Cubbies WIN the World Series after 108 years, was not a decision made lightly and I would have left if not for friends. Never did I imagine that I would not be able to hear the game. After asking the server three times why all the speakers in the whole front of the bar were not turned on, I was assured that "the kitchen staff was busy and would get to it if they could." I am surprised at the lack of resolution and inattentiveness by staff on a night like this (I know Im not the only one who strained to hear even when the bar was quiet.) I will forever remember this historic game feeling like I was in a Peanuts cartoon with muffled commentary from the back rooms. The food was good, but I will not be returning to your establishment.

My wife and I went there around 6pm on a Saturday evening. There were very few diners and still service was slow. One of the cooks must have been on a break in the room just beyond our table, and on his way back to the kitchen, he yelled back at whatever friends he had in that room, including a very loud F-bomb. I could maybe see that during drinking hours later that night, but 6pm? I just wanted something light before going to a movie, so I order a chicken tenders dinner. The breading (wet dip, by the way, not dry, if youre curious) had zero seasoning in it. Since chicken has no flavor of its own, the meal was tasteless. Even though we were her only customers, our server left us waiting for far too long when we needed something. We wont be going back.

This place is a dump, smelled like the dumpster was in the lobby. Maybe 12 people in the whole place 8:30 Wednesday evening, live music outside should have joined that party, bartender served me the wrong draft beer. Then I got to watch bartender and manager get into an argument bartender stormed out, 10 minutes later after a cigarette or two she came back, I didnt wait around, will not go back. personally I wouldnt give it a 1 star but it wouldnt let me leave a review.

Came in on a Saturday with some friends. It was surprisingly not that busy for a weekend night. The staff was all extremely friendly and appeared happy to be there. Our bartender was super sweet and nice to our massive group of guys ordering drinks all night. We ordered some appetizers which were good but nothing special, typical bar food/snacks. The inside was very clean and well kept as was the patio. We had a great time and will keep coming back.

Had a great time at Mullens Bar & Grill. Went for a friends birthday on karaoke night. Entertaining. The two female bartenders could have been way more attentive. I had to have the bar back chase them down twice and someone that appeared to be management once. And the bar isnt that big. You would think if you hand over your black card they might at least acknowledge you when you come back to order on your open tab.

In town for work and on my travel in day the cubs are playing for an afternoon game. Our server has been one of the most attentive Ive seen lately. I should add that she also has a packed section and is handling like a champ. She as well as all the other employees seem to have a great attitude and work ethic. The bartender is keeping her supplied very quickly as well. Great teamwork gals! Great JOB Stephanie.
