Love the ambiance and energy. Food is great. We have dietary restrictions in our family which makes eating out difficult at times. Fire + wine has an awesome gluten-free menu so everyone was able to eat a pizza and feel "normal." Not to mention their pizzas are out of this world good. Made with whole cheeses like buffalo mozzarella and burrata. If you go, try anything with burrata on it. We didnt even know what it was until dining with f+w. HIGHLIGHTS: Tuscan Kale Salad (they do something to healthy food that transforms it into deliciousness) Warm Farro + Butternut Squash Black Pepper Shrimp + Polenta (if you have more than 2 people, just order 2 of these, theyre that good) Four Cheese Pizza LOWLIGHTS: The wait.. Id recommend visiting Sun/Tues/Wed to avoid long wait times, especially if you have kids. Or go early. We went once on a Thursday at 6pm and waited for over 45 minutes for a table. They have a call list but its not a reservation so theres no guarantee of a table being available. OVERALL: Worth the wait... very reasonably priced for what they offer, gluten free options, delicious food and their craft beer menu is pretty amazing.

We love the small plates-- especially the grilled octopus. Tonight we also had a roast beet salad, cauliflower and scallops but best of all was the parmesan zucchini fries with sea salt. Nothing seals in the wholesome goodness of fresh vegetables like a light batter and a few moments in a deep fryer. I could just feel myself getting healthier as I ate my second handful. The beer list is not bad. The room gets a little loud but you can hear, although once the evening rush gets underway, you really have to raise your voice. Service is great--friendly but not fawning, attentive but not intrusive. We were served by Valerie tonight and she took good care of us.

I use to love Fire and Wine because I am gluten intolerant and they offer gluten free pizza thats delicious . However, twice in one year now I have ordered a gluten free pizza and they brought out a regular crust pizza to my table. Thankfully I can recognize regular versus gluten free crust and called them out on it. They made a new pizza for me but this mistake can be very dangerous for someone who has celiac disease. And both times I was charged for my full meal. I dont like to make a stink about things but they should have at least comped my pizza. It makes me uneasy going here when they arent going to take my health into consideration.

Our favorite place in the suburbs. The food is amazing. Chef John really gets innovative with the menu, which is my favorite part- making foods I normally wouldnt eat especially delicious! He has some serious talent and the menu is super creative, and YUMMY. The staff is especially great as well. From the management to the servers, bartenders, bussers- quality service all around. Everyone is friendly, happy and it provides for a great experience, especially in a spot like this where its always crowded. We love coming here. This is place is a gem; worth a try if youre in the area, you wont be disappointed.

Fire & Wine is a Glen Ellyn favorite because of their outstanding food - amazing grilled romaine salad, and brick oven pizzas! Even the kids menu is smart enough to offer real food - kids can get a filet mignon for $8-10. The ambience is definitely loud, so if youre looking for a quiet place, probably not the night for Fire+Wine. Wine selection is great as well. You will definitely need reservations - call ahead. Last minute drop-ins are usually going to have a significant wait. Great choice for fun celebrations, meeting with friends or date night with your other half. Highly recommend!

The food here is always great but the reason Im writing this review is because of the best service, my fiancee, and I have ever been given at a restaurant should be recognized. Our waiter, Ryan was exceptional. He was so kind and helpful in terms of helping us order our food and even taking an interest in how we were doing. He was probably the most genuine waiter I have ever met. He was quick with re-filling our beverages and anticipated what we were looking for in terms of food and service with great instinct. Thanks for such a wonderful dining experience.

Phenomenal food at one of Chicagolands best kept secrets. fire + wine has found a way to infuse a fun, art-deco atmosphere with incredible food and a seriously cool vibe. They have a deep selection of global wines and a stellar selection of craft beers, and some of the desserts on offer are just plain sinful! A family friendly restaurant for sure, but when the lights dim and the cocktail hours beckons, its more than cool enough for a grown ups night. An A List Chicago style restaurant in the suburbs! Who wouldve thunk it? Bravo, fire + wine! Bravo.

Not impressed. First time here with a large group. The noise level was so high in this restaurant, you couldnt hear the person across from you. The food was only so so. If youre going to have wine in the name of your restaurant, I would hope you would know how to serve it. My white wine was room temperature. Then the owner tried to hurry us out because he needed our table for another party. Very tacky and poor taste. The only saving grace was the excellent service we received from our waiter. I would never go back. So many nicer places to eat!

Love this place! I have severe gluten allergies and the staff here could not be better about preparing my food correctly. Heidi is the best waitress ever! She knows all about the gluten free options, is so nice, and is so fun to talk to! The first couple times I came here I just happened to have Heidi as my server every single time and she was fantastic, so now I just ask to have her as my waitress. Food is amazing, staff is incredibly accommodating to my dietary needs, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Highly recommended. Ask for Heidi!

my wife and I first went about 6 months ago and we were amazed from the first time. the pizzas are reasonably priced and not your typical sausage and pepperoni. the ingredients are always fresh and the wait staff very friendly and attentive. we have since gone back multiple times and celebrated a few birthdays there. every time has been a great experience and everyone that we have brought leaves thinking nothing but the best for this place. if youve never been here, its definitely one of the best restaurants in Glen Ellyn.

This is our go to place for Sunday dinner, at least once or twice a month. We have never been disappointed in the food or service. So, when it came time to plan our small wedding reception, Fire & Wine was our first choice of venues. Michael was wonderful to work with and super accommodating! The staff who worked our party did an absolutely perfect job and EVERYONE raved about the food, as we knew they would! We are so blessed and grateful to have had such a great team to help make our day perfect and stress free.

Always-busy, small plate Italian spot in the heart of Glen Ellyn. Diverse menu features tasty small plates, wood-fired Neapolitan pizzas, and rustic pasta dishes. Kid-friendly early and a lively crowd later. Small plate favorites include zucchini fries, ricotta jar with grilled bread, and Italian bean dip and pasta favorites are the seasonal risotto, spaghetti & meatballs, and paccheri & sausage. - First visited: July 27, 2013
