Its about the customer service... I called to order a cake for my Husbands birthday which is tomorrow! I was ordering for the first time. I asked for the peppermint frosting that I had heard about...When asked what color to decorate with I said for a guy...no pink... use blue... I just picked up the cake and it was all pink...My face said it all...I understand now that the icing is made from candies that when crushed make a pink mint frosting...What the woman said to me was" I am sure your husband knows he is a guy" Okay well then...she could have been a little less condescending. She did offer to rewrite the Happy Birthday in Blue! Then when I decided to purchase a cupcake for myself it was not even offered to me as a customer service gesture! I paid full price for all!!! While the cake itself should be delicious hopefully! The customer service was cold and left a bad taste in my mouth! Not a fan! Will more than likely never go back!

We used Bent Fork as our vendor for our wedding cake. Ashley was our liaison and was wonderful to work with. Even with delivery and taxes added our cake was very reasonably priced. We chose simple/rustic frosting designs so there were little to no extra decoration fees. Instead of a tiered cake we had 6 individual cakes. They all looked wonderful and were delivered to our venue on time and in perfect condition. After taste testing we ended up going with two flavors: carrot cake with cinnamon cream cheese icing and sticky toffee filling (this cake is the reason we went there in the first place), but the even more delicious 2nd flavor was the coconut cake with coconut icing and passionfruit mousse filling. We actually had wedding guests calling us for 3 days after the wedding asking if they could come over and if we had any of the coconut cake left. We continued to entertain every night until all the cake was eaten!

I ordered a birthday cake from here with basic decorations, strawberry filing with marble cake flavor. I enjoy their treats from their cookies to the various desserts BUT I was really disappointed with the cake. Getting ready to eat the cake, cutting it was difficult since it was hard. The cake tasted stale as if they just had the cake laying around and wanted to get rid of it. The cake I believe was rushed and poorly done. I was completely unsatisfied with the cake and the price. I wanted to try their cake and see if it was going to be good as their other desserts and I was wrong. You can get the same cake at Jewel for half the cost and it will taste better. Will never buy such a tasteless cake from the bent fork again. Completely wasted my money.

The Service was great! The employees were very friendly and the cookies that I got were to die for. Unfortunately, The Coconut cake that I ordered was far from excellent. It as a simpe yellow cake covered with an unbelivebly "sugary" icing with coconut shavings on the outside of the cake. There was not on hint of coconut in the cake itself. Then to top it all off the cake was fairly dry. Cookies and tarts are fanstic there but the coconut cake was horrific...

I worked with Ashley on building a birthday dream cake for my special day. She is a talent to be reckoned with! Through conversation and pictures, we landed on what we thought would be beautiful. Beautiful is an understatement. This cake was art (and delicious too boot!). If you have not had the pleasure of Bent Fork baked goods, treat yourself. Get there fast! Thank you Ashley and Bent Fork. Best bakery of all time! Bottom line...I would say that if you want sweets this is the place for you. I get a smore bar which is thick marshmellows on top of chocolate on top of a gram cracker crust...just throw in the towel on that alone, its over...knock out delivered. They have great cakes, pastries, cookies, brownies and cupcakes. Got a few things this am (like every other Saturday) and cant wait to dig in! GO. NOW.

A treasure! WOW... its no exaggeration to say this is one of the greatest bakeries in Chicagoland. The cake we ordered (chocolate, chocolate frosting, cookies and cream filling) was the smash hit of the party. Weeks later Im still fielding calls about where people can get it for themselves. Too many wonderful treats to list, but trust me you cant go wrong and on top of it all, they are very nice people. Bravo!

I have never had a bad experience here. The owners are the nicest people you could ever meet. They have ALWAYS been extremely accommodating and helpful to me. The cakes are so good that one cannot describe them. You just have to dig in. The same is true with all their products. My grandson is always excited when I send him a few dozen cookies but says they hardly last for 3 or 4 days!

really a fun small town atmosphere with very nice employees and very good baked goods and chocolate. Its not just a bakery,they make excellent chocolates. I bought a variety here to bring to an event and everyone raved about everything. Nothing left from the Bent Fork goodies although we had plenty left from everything else. I highly recommend it.

The Bent Fork has the sweetest treats and the sweetest people! Mike, Liz, Kathy and the rest of the team are the greatest and nothing beats their treats. Their cupcakes are heaven-sent, their cookies (try the double-dipped peanut buttah) are amazing, and nothing beats their chocolate chip banana bread. Check them out!

Best bakery on the North Shore! Everything weve ever ordered--cakes, cookies, pies, etc.--has been exceptional. And their carrot cake is not to be believed--Maybe the most delicious dessert Ive ever tasted! On top of that, the owners and staff are wonderful people. This is another true gem in Highwood.
