About two weeks back I asked Baker Boys to make up a batch of 18 cupcakes. To my amazement, I was able to mix and match any flavor they had on their site (and I suspect any "weekly" flavors, if I had thought of it). I had them make up 9 different flavors in all to celebrate my wifes 30th birthday. She loved them, as did I and my little girl. To anyone thinking about treating themselves, a friend or family member, I would highly recommend Baker Boys. Everything we tried was delicious, and weve already decided to come back again soon for some of the flavors we skipped over. As a final note, I want to thank them for helping me carry my cupcakes out the day I picked up. Dad, plus toddler, plus toddlers bag, plus coffee and a giant box of cupcakes does not equal "fun times." Instead, one of the crew helped me carry my box of goodies out to my car to save me a bit of hassle. Well see you guys again soon!

Heres the deal folks. I have eaten my fair share of sweets in the 32 years I have graced this earth. This is unlike most any other bakery I have ever had the pleasure to experience. I havent ever even tried what they specialize in: cupcakes. However, that doesnt mean the breakfast pastry selection isnt out of this world. They have a carmel, apple blueberry muffin that I have been lucky enough to catch right out of the oven. So hot it was even upon arrival to my house many minutes later I had to wait to eat it! It is heaven in the form of food consumption. They have a coffee cinnamon muffin with a white glaze on top that has a band of cinnamon sugar throughout the cake part of the muffin. Divine. Go there now. Its excellent. Keep in mind, I described 2 items, they have over 40. Cheesecake, muffins, cupcakes, frozen custard, coffee and croissants...Run. There. Quickly!

I have posted about Baker Boys already on Trip Advisor. They have 5 stars from practically everyone, so they dont need an extra post from me, but one thing I should have mentioned is they are probably the friendliest business owners in Highland Park. No digs at anyone else, but they are so nice everytime we stop by. Its not like we are making a capital investment as we have never bought a cake or a few dozen for a party like many people do. We are the family who gets 2 cupcakes and one frozen custard while dad and the dog wait in the car. But because we have been going here for almost 2 years, once a month on Sunday or Saturday, we are greeted so warmly for such a small purchase and I know from seeing how they treat others at the counter, this is who they are. Gotta run. Calling to see what flavors are baked up today.

I had a coffee cake muffin which was delicious. It had all the good parts of a coffee cake with some delicious cream cheese frosting on top. My girlfriend went with an eclair which was also tasty, the filling was great and the pastry had a great consistency. The one disappointing thing was that they were out of almost everything when we stopped in around 2 so our choices were quite limited.

THE best bakery. They would do great with a location in Lakeview ;) Thinking about biking all the way to Highland Park with the reward of a banana chocolate chip cupcake at the end, but unfortunately theyre closed today :(

There werent many cupcakes when I went, but that may be because it was a Sunday afternoon. The cupcakes I purchased were delicious! Love the Red Velvet and Banana. Yum!

Good food but way pricey. Regrettably I paid $4 for a croissant there once. The item was great but that seemed way too high a price to me.
