I ordered shrimp, the cocktail sauce came in a plastic container with a lid on it, obviously pre made. I attempted to dip my shrimp and the sauce was like rubber. I asked the waitress for some fresh sauce and she brought me another container. Dropped it off & as she walked away she said hope this one is better. Didnt stick around to see, nor did she check it out in the kitchen. It was no better. I got her attention again, it was obvious she wasnt going to come willingly. I showed her what seemed to be a jello mold on the bread plate. She apologized again and brought me a 3rd container. I asked dont you have fresh sauce? A bottle maybe. She said Ill check. Nope. No fresh cocktail sauce in the entire restaurant. So.... I was willing to dip my shrimp in ketchup. Our bottle was empty, so that was not an option. I was so aggravated I decided to go upstairs and gamble. The stairs were full of waitresses, apparently thats their break room. Since I am handicapped I was not about to fanagle my way through. So I started looking around the restaurant, possibly looking for someone else in my shoes? First I noticed all the flys on the windows pretty gross (in any restaurant). Then I noticed Everyone had their ketchup bottles upside down, apparently ours wasnt the only one empty. We didnt get butter or sour cream with our potatoes, we used the butter from the bread plate. No water was served either. I cant remember ever ordering water! They just bring it. So as I sat thirsty and hungry, I looked at happy people being said "goodbye" to and " Ill see you next week ". Maybe its just me and lack of cocktail sauce? A waitress walked by with her bra strap down to her elbow, and I thought why wouldnt a fellow wait staff let her know her underwear is showing and how could she not feel it? My husband finally finished his fish fry, seemed pretty content and I was glad at least he enjoyed his meal. Until 3:15 am when he woke up and vomited in his night side garbage can. His food was obviously no fresher then the cocktail sauce I was served. I hope no one ends up with food poisining. By: Gayle Ross

I hate using hyperbolic language, but this might just be the worst reastaraunt Ive ever been to. The food was expensive (Two adults and Two kids came out to $70) and the quality was atrocious. The frozen Bertoli dinners I get at Butera taste better than the Chicken fettuccine I got, and the kids meals ($10 a pop) HAD to be from an industrial-sized box of frozen chicken strips youd find on clearance at Wal-Mart. They served me a beer in an under-sized plastic cup (Typically, $7 will get me a pint glass, the cup they use is about the size of a cup in my offices break room water cooler). The salad bar was included with my meal, but upon seeing what it had to offer, I thought it better not to try my luck. This is such a shame, because their location is absolutely perfect. It sits right on the shore of Fox Lake and would be a perfect bookend to a day on the lake if it were not for the terrible quality of food. The view/location is the only redeeming quality of this place.

Been here a few times, had bad service everytime! Food isnt that great but has a nice view. Last time I was there someone brought waters and never returned. After a long while we got the owner and he sent someone over. The server didnt look happy to serve us. When our food finally came out. My pasta had a hair in it!(GROSS) we grab the server she said all I can do is make you another. So as we are waiting everyone else is waiting to eat. I told them to just eat, so by the time they brought my food out everyone was done. When we were all done I asked for the bill. They didnt even discount my food. I mean after not getting service and a hair you think they would do something! Not a good way to run a business! Left very unhappy!

Disappointing. The only thing this place has going for them is the location and the sunsets. The food is overpriced for an average diner taste, and the most disappointing thing of it all was everything is so tight! I kept bumping into people constantly. The major walkway is filled with people going out to the deck, to the bathroom, to the salad bar, and out to the restaurant! The staff looked misrable going in and out of the restaurant to the patio and I dont blame them. Our server however was very nice. But before we got the check back, the busboy puts his dirty tub on the table and starts cleaning. We werent finished yet. Gross.

Food was ok. Wait staff needs service! Horrible. Food sat at wrong table before we got it. Had to get my own silverware. Over priced, waitress only came over twice and when I asked 2 other waitress to get my server she laughed and said I dont think so No water refills or even asked and waited 20 min for the check Wont be back, 3 strikes out. I think it is funny that other restaurants want to improve their service. This place does not!!!

For $18, I had an iced tea, soggy, hairy amd cold buffalo wings and a handful of cold fries. This was by far one of the worst meals I ever paid to not eat. I did relay this to our server who apathetically apologized. While I was there, I overhead two other tables complaining. One couple stormed out of the restaurant in anger. The only good thing is the view but youre better off finding a free park bench for that.

I was there at the end of May, visiting my family who lives outside of Chicago. Me and my step daughter went for a drive and ate here for the first time. We had the all you can eat salad bar and soup. I really enjoyed it. Waitress was nice, and the view was awesome. I would definitely go back and any one that visit out there should check it out. Enjoyed my lunch time with my step daughter.

Nice place to eat when its summer or winter, In the summer time they open the deck up so you can sit next to the beautiful lake. The food is good but can take some time to get to your table, worth it thought. They have a salad bar, bar (for drinks), and regular table seating. We always take the train here since the station is only a few blocks form the restaurant.

Their fish tacos are to die for and their guacamole is the best Ive ever had, you could tell the ingredients were fresh. The scenery is beautiful and the staff is wonderfully trained and very polite. I felt very welcomed and I would definitely recommend. Also try their grilled chicken sandwhich, you wont regret it!

Great food and atmosphere on the large deck, the inside seating area leaves much to consider, its rather small and cramped so if you want to go, the summer months would be the way to go. Beautiful deck seating and plenty of servers to get your order and food fast. I give it 4 out of 5 stars for the summer months.

Food is really good. Service was horrible. The waitress was more concerned about putting down the umbrellas than serving us. Brought us our food didnt even bother asking how it looked, didnt come by once to see how we liked it. Didnt check on our table once. Not impressed.
