Im am going to be completely honest. I dont understand the positive reviews this place has received. I just left this resturant and had a horrible experience. The food was poorly made. Raw and watered down. Eating with a big group of 8+ I thought it was just my plate. But as I went around the table everyone had the exact same problem. I do not recommend this place at all wat so ever. And I will not return here. I am much better off ordering food from a rosatis carry out. But the worst of it was definitely not the food because the service was just as bad. We were left on a room with no one clearing the tables or even refilling the water. It got to the point where were serving ourselves and I kid you not. Once again i do not recommend this place to anyone.

My wife and I stopped back here on our way back to the suburbs last night. We both ordered the Linguine Pescatore, and were amazed by how fresh and delicious the seafood was. The shrimp and clams melted with the garlic sauce exquisitely. It was so good that we asked to thank the chef personally, and were met by the nicest and most humble owner and head chef, Tony. He retailed us with stories of the restaurants rich history and dedication toward authentic cuisine over comped pieces of unbelievable cheesecake. All in all, it was one of the best experiences we have ever had at a restaurant. 5 Stars. Highly Recommended.

My boyfriend and I went to Via Veneto on a Groupon, and the dinner was just what I was hoping for. Though the prices are a bit high for us (especially without a voucher discount) everything was excellent, from fluffy freshly-grated parmesan and aromatic olive oil in a beautiful cruet on the table to well-balanced seasonings on my delicate tilapia served over garlicy zucchini strips. The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, the service attentive but not obtrusive. We added a new experience-- a snifter of grappa-- which was very delicious and was the perfect complement and mood enhancer. Well be back!

I hosted a party there and the staff was unpleasant and rude.I arrived to the party and they had bumped me to a much smaller room. If I would have known I would have canceled it ahead of time. The room was tight and there wasnt enough walking room. The food for the first 25 people were good but the last 25 plates were cold pasta, and uncooked meat. They were probably in rush to finish the party as they kept hurrying us with our dessert and bill. Will never return or host another party there.

I ordered some lasagna today. It was okay but theres still some better out there. I asked for a chicken vesuvio and that was just nasty. Youre better off going somewhere else like EJs and youll have a better taste for your money. I also asked for salad, and I told them to give me a house dressing for their house salad on the side and they couldnt even follow that instruction. I will never order from this place again. Very disappointed.

Came here with my girlfriend and experienced the best service and Italian food Ive had in the city. The size of the plates are insane and you will never leave hungry. The stuffed purses are really good but you cant really go wrong with anything you pick hear. I have been back a few times and the service and food is amazing. One of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago!

MUST COME HERE!!!!!!! This place looks amazing, food is authentic, from the bread they serve you to the free cake for my wife the appetizer was the calamity omg to die for, than we ordered pasta and the steak of the day the meal was Amazing the service was fast professional yet Friendly and very warming, letskeep supporting our local gems.

If you want the best Italian food in Chicago go to Via Veneto, youll find great food and great service, and dont forget about dessert muah !!!! This the perfect place for family and if you want to give a friend a surprise party, you can have it here also. No matter how small or large the group Via Veneto will take care of you.

I went here recently with my fiancee because our friends had a great time here. We did too!! Everything was very nice. The waitress was very knowledgeable about the menu. We had the octopus starter, which we normally wouldnt order, and it was delicious! My veal parmigiano was really good too. We will be going back undoubtedly!

Wow! This place is surprisingly good. I was hesitant in going to this place as I already have a go-to Italian restaurant in the city but I was given a recommendation from a local foodie/blogger. Overall, great food and great environment. I will definitely visit again if I am in the mood for an authentic Italian restaurant.

I come here for lunch about twice a week. I love this place! The servers and owner are super friendly and the food is delicious. I recommend the pistachio ravioli (with amaretto - unlike anything Ive ever tasted - I absolutely love it!!) and pumpkin lasagna (mmm!!) with house salad. Mmmmmm!!! Really - come and eat here :-)

I loved everything about Via Veneto. I came here on a whim with my girlfriend one night, and we had a wonderful experience. The food was above par, and so was the service. The atmosphere made for a fun evening of casual dining at a price that was totally managable; we will continue to go to Via Veneto for many years.

Never going back. Went for mothers day yesterday. Absolutely pathetic service from the wait staff. I was never asked what drink i would like. The portions were tiny. The scallop combo was only two of the smallest scallops Ive ever seen. And to top it all off, it was overpriced for their service and quality.

We catered an event at our school and it was not only affordable but truly amazing. The service was phenomenal and it was truly an authentic Italian experience. Chef Tony was very accommodating with our budget and was a big help in making sure we had what we needed!

I really liked this place. Service was friendly and fast. My pasta was cooked just right and had enough sauce. Sometimes restaurants dont put enough and its very dry. I ate here with my brother and sister in law and they enjoyed it too.
