I think the Golden Village is kinda new. The name before was Caminitas or something like that. We came because we saw it on DD&DI on the FOOD Channel. We figured what the heck we are here and will give it a try. Waitress brought the usual basket of chips and 3 salsas along with generous size lime quarters. The chips were a great start. Thin, lighter than most places and VERY tasty. We ordered guacamole as a starter and waited and waited and waited until it came. Sorry to say we were getting a little testy at the delay. Shame on us. It was fantastic and the chef had made it from scratch while we waited. I cant remember having had guac this good. We devoured this starter like mad dogs on a fawn along with an extra basket of the yummy chips.. From here we ordered Tortas. A Cubana, Milinase, and Steak. along with the Shrimps with Garlic. Another long wait that we endured we enjoying while talking about the fantastic guac. The Tortas came all at once and we did the vulture attack as they were set on the table. It is hard to discribe how sublime and delicious these sandwiches were. My Cubana (not sure on spelling) was one of the tastiest pieces of South of the border food I have had in the last six years including 3 two weeks trips to Mexico. My two partners in gluttony agreed wholeheartedly. The shrimp were smaller in size but big in flavor, great tomato, avocado lettuce and rice on the plate also. We all agreed the this was a 4 out of 5. But the Tortas were a SOLID 5 out of 5. We were from Oak Park and further West but we WILL be back for this great place. The slow service will clear up as they get used to the new place. It is worth the wait. Including one Coke, bill was cheap $44. I enjoyed it so well, left a $15 tip.

Very friendly, very fast, very convenient! No language barrier either. Very clean place. Did "the finger across the table" and it made the "Im squeaky clean" sounds.

I had a steak taco and a steak burrito, both of which were fantastic. Even the salsa was tasty(3 different options). I will return
