The last time I was in Chicago, I stopped by the Intelligentsia near Millennium Park. This time, the BF and I walked to Old Town and chanced on another Intelligentsia! Of course, we couldnt resist stopping in for a quick respite. As you can tell from my reviews, Im a huge independent, third-wave coffee roasting fan. Intelligentsia is definitely one of my favorite roasters. I was excited to try another Intelligentsia in the city. If you like Chemex, V60, Siphon, or any pourovers, youll like Intelligentsia. I ordered a matcha latte and some tea. The decor is very modern and the space has a ton of natural light spilling in. Perfect for meeting up with friends or if youre working remotely.

It is in a convenient location by the plum market - no need to go out, it is connected by juice bar of the plum market. I think the quality of the intelligentsias coffee is definitely better than starbucks. When I grind my own coffee beans, I usually buy Intelligentsias whole bean for freshness and quality of the taste. But when I tried this locations cafe latte, it was okay. Not as good as Illys express location coffee...=) Still better than any Starbucks coffee but just not wow.. I will probably still visit this location for sometimes.

Truly the best coffee I have had in this city. Baristas have always been helpful with recommendations and their assessments of different coffees. I usually walk in looking for help and they have always proceed help. Coffee here is light to medium roast, which I love. Some people will hate that because it is so bright (possibly sour)....but this is the best espresso on Earth. I love it and I hope you will at least give it a try!

Prime coffee is served here but you do pay a premium price. The atmosphere is eclectic and spunky but the attached grocery store detracts from it being an honest to goodness coffee shop. Still it is a staple meeting place for me and my college friends. I think it is also ripe for later hours with special evening offerings. The neighborhood is bustling at night so it surprises me that it is not open later.

Its very amazing and interesting that each Intelligentsia has a different interior decor and its own vibe. Unlike many "hip" places with uptight attitude, the staff/baristas are very friendly and do a great in brewing. I remember the price for the matcha latte was quite high at this place (not sure about other locations).

Excellent coffee bar, serving up an assortment of blends and brews. It could take a little bit longer to get your drink depending on your choice , but thats only because the barista prep each one with the optimal brewing approach.

If you want delicious coffee without the pretension this is the place. Also, the only Intelligentsia where you can get Do-Rite donuts. Much better than the Wicker Park location because they have actual chairs.

The cappuccino was slightly scalded and the space was not so nice. Service was good and the cortado was tasty. I appreciate what these guys do but wouldnt go back to this location

I had the Peruvian coffee, possibly Im so use to the normal coffee, thus is was way different, not strong but the taste beat even the cream and sugar, wouldnt recommend it
