I love the concept of this restaurant. Unfortunately, I felt as though the place missed the mark on execution. Some of the best food in the world comes from the streets and I was excited to come give this place a try. I came later on a weekday evening to find the restaurant about 1/3 full. First notice was the cute pig mascot alongside the logo on the door. Second notice upon sitting down was that it was pretty dark inside. The menu has a decent number of items that range from expected to "exotic". On my visit I had takoyaki, a combination platter of skewers, and a tonkatsu ramen. I have my own takoyaki tray at home. I believe that I make much better ones than served here. The skewers lacked individual character as they were all doused in the same sauce and mostly overcooked. Lastly, the ramen was a total letdown. As ramen gains popularity here in Chicago, I was hoping to find something that was not reminiscent of college day packs of noodles. The flavors werent anything special and the slice of pork served within my bowl was sliced too thick and felt dry / overdone. I really wanted to like Four Belly. On my overall ratings based on value, flavor, and creativity, Four Belly only gets two stars for excitement and would have been three if not for being a bit on the pricey side for mediocre and bland food.

Four belly is a great restaurant if youve never had real Ramen before and wanted to try it. My friends and I discovered this place about 2 years ago now and are still eating there. The Tonkatsu Ramen is one of their best options besides the moo ping (pork shoulder). They have quite a few Ramen options and include udon on their menu as well. The broth alone is very rich and I wish I could just take it home and drink it on these cold days. They also just expanded their menu to include sushi as well. I have noticed recently that they have gone up on their prices, which I understand they have been around a while and should adjust their prices accordingly. Usually, I have no complaints about this restaurant but the last few times Ive been they have served me rice with my moo ping that is contained in a plastic bag, once opened it is hard and crunchy like day old rice thats been warmed up. They used to serve you the fluffiest rice with your dishes but I will not be ordering any more rice from them.

Oh, Four Belly - I had such high hopes for you! When I first read about Four Belly, I was really excited. This was supposed to be interesting food that you would not find anywhere else! Their website was so cute and enticing, that I even signed up for their newsletter. But after a visit, I had to unsubscribe. The food was very bland. We had a miso ramen bowl, and it didnt taste any juicier or tastier than normal. The broth could have been spicier. We also have the Takoyaki (fried octopus ball), which I wanted to like, but the octopus was very dry. Our skewer sampler came with 3 sticks of meats that were overcooked and a stick of very big mushroom, that was very hard to eat. The decor here was nice though, so at least they have that going for them.

First time we ate here and regularly order delivery. We took friends who were visiting from nyc one of our favorite Korean places. Place is really cute, open space with. Had a great table by the window. Tried the corn tempura, original ramen, bulgogi, and pad thai. The ramen had a nice flavor with a warm spicyness. The bulgogi and pad thai were great as an introduction to friends who were new to Korean food. Loved the corn tempura and they serve a lot for a starter imo. I loved the sesame grinder; I think I need one for myself at home! Will be back for more bulgogi and ramen and maybe some sushi next time!

Four Belly is a new eatery 2 blocks from the Belmont El stop that serves Asian street food, and its pretty delicious! Service: Waiters/waitresses are on top of things, although our waitress hadnt yet tried a couple of our dishes (so we got surprised with the super spicy pok pok salad). Ambience: Relaxed and inviting - great for casual date or meeting up with friends. Plus, there is a tv, so in case you need to watch a football game while downing some fried caterpillars, this is the place! Food: Very yummy flavors, although some of the flavor combinations seemed a bit conflicting.

This restaurant is pretty new to the neighbourhood and serves up a fusion of korean and chinese cuisine. We tried the ramen and the bulgogi because we were in the mood for some korean after having had chinese and thai for a long while. The taste was pretty close to authentic but I felt that the ramen base was a little too sweet for our taste. The bulogogi was well done, tender and juicy. If were in the mood for korean food within the lakeview neighborhood, this is definitely a place I would consider. But if youre looking for chinese, there are other places around.

Ridiculous! Their website, their sign and Google all say that they close at 11pm. I got to the door at 10:42 and it was locked. They said they close the kitchen at 10:45pm, but it says that NOWHERE. I called to find out and the supervisor on duty, "neil" was very rude and gave me a very overly placating response saying that "next time" he will be sure to post a sign. While I also was outside on the call I watched as the hostess and waiter laughing at me inside. Well I thought your food sounded good but you decoded to close early and lost my business for good.

No customer service and food was average. Have had better ramen from several places. We tried this place for the first time - by ordering online. While the food was delivered on time, the order did not include all the food. We called to let them know, they accused us of lying and kept reiterating that it was impossible we were missing food. They finally gave us the rest of our order (that we paid for) after asking to see the original partial order at our house, and then shoving the bag of the remains items towards us when they conceded that it was missing.

The food choices here are wonderfully diverse! There are exotic things like Takoyaki (which were fantastically flavorful!) to classic dishes like Karaage (fried chicken on skewers). The service was wonderful and there was little wait time. We have also ordered to go and the wait was fast and pleasant. Deliver was also fast and the food was very hot when it arrived. The environment inside is very inviting and fun as well from the decorations to the seats near the windows. It is one of our new favorites in the neighborhood!

Overrated. I was craving ramen so I had the yakisoba (stir-fried Japanese egg noodle). The beef was dry and tasteless, and the ramen was soggy and broken into many small pieces. I couldnt finish it. I gave them one more chance and ordered the tonkotsu ramen (noodle soup). The ramen was perfect, springy with bite, but the soup was way too salty. Service was bad and they only have me a dollar off the entire bill when one of their dishes was basically inedible and the other was lackluster. Cannot not recommend.
