Had Sunday birthday brunch with bf + family and this place was perfect for that occasion! The atmosphere of the buffet area was simultaneously sophisticated and family-oriented at the same time, a hard feat for any American restaurant these days. The food was delicious, everything equally good, from the scrambled eggs + tomatoes to the bread rolls to the tossed feta + grape + walnut salad and even the creme brule sides. Although I probably would not come here for just any old day or dinner (the price stops you), I highly recommend The Grille on Laurel for anyone looking to celebrate a worthy occasion :)

It IS pretentious. Its now LMG. Wine at $14/glass makes $30/person unrealistic. Ambiance includes glass wine room with flickering lights (Its the wiring, not just a bulb.) and table layout to maximize seating inside a cube. Been there 3 times - potato chips to start is a nice touch Unfortunately, each time had to tell them the 1st bowl was stale. Theyre happy to bring fresh.

Went night after reopening and dined at bar. Great overall, just ironing out very, very minor service matters (e.g. soups arrived a minute apart). But the the food is excellent (French onion soup, sea bass) the environment is lively (and on the loud side), the staff is friendly and everyone is having a good time. Pastel colors recommended.

Took my family here for an early Christmas celebration (prior to going to see "Oliver" at the Citadel). Great experience for all of us. Staff attentive without hovering, food was delicious, atmosphere was just what we were hoping for on a celebratory evening. Christmas lighting is lovely.

Great Sunday brunch - very reasonable given the fare...relaxed but prompt service and a great bar...snatch a seat by the fire! favorites (chicken taco salad, fish sandwich, burger with sweet potato fries, baked brie platter, coconut shrip spinach sald...)

one of my favorite restaurants in the area... good food, decent service, reasonably priced (cheap for lake forest), atmosphere is great as long as its not too crowded... which can become miserable.. reservations arent dealt with very well.

Everything here is great! Sunday brunch is the best! Expensive but so worth the price, I have never had anything here I didnt absolutely love. Great Service, great food, great atmosphere
