This place came highly recommended therefore I decided to give it a try. We were met by a very unfriendly hostess. Was shown to a less than acceptable table to sit. Granted the place was crowded. However, rather than to be pleasant and help accommodate us, we were (very unwillingly, I must say) shown a table which would have been acceptable to us. This time the two Japanese (I am assuming them to be Japanese) waitresses not hiding their displeasure on their faces and murmuring their complaints under their breaths prepared the table for three of us to sit and dine. After we sat down the rude behavior continued. That was when I had enough of this inhospitable manner and we left. Sometimes you can overlook mediocre taste and make up for it with ambiance, friendly staff and welcoming surroundings. The terse greeting, increasing displeasure on staff faces and their complete rudeness turned me off completely. I have neither the desire nor the money to spend to be ill-treated. Hated it before I had a chance to taste the food.

My husband and I have had great sushi all over the world and are real sushi lovers. Around the Lawrenceville/Snellville area, weve tried quite a few places but the fish is never quite fresh enough. And then we stumbled upon Sushi Avenue on Scenic Highway. If youre going to eat sushi in the Lville/Sville area, you must go here. When we put the first pieces in our mouths we both were shocked. It tasted as fresh and great as some of the sushi weve had in NYC or Japan. And it costs about half as much! Please patronize this establishment so that it doesnt go out of business! :)

The food was wonderful. The service was terrible. We waited so long to order drinks we went ahead and ordered our food with drinks. We did not recieve a full menu initially either. So she treated us like we were annoying her, asking so many questions. Then she realized we needed a complete menu. One person at our table recieved food in about 10min, the other three of us waited for about 30 more min. It made the meal awkward. I have to admit the food was so good, I will go back but I will plan for a long evening. Took 2 hours to get through dinner.

Best Sushi for at least 50 miles. This actually authentic Japanese Food made by real Japanese and yeah it does taste different. I would say better actually. Most Japanese restaurants around are not Japanese chefs and it does make a difference. A lot of things on the menu you will not find else where easily if at all. I highly recommend the moochi red bean ice cream. There food is amazing and I absolutely love there tempura. You have to give them a try if you have never been and be sure to treat yourself. I know I always do.

Sushi Avenue is my regular sushi place. Besides the sushi being ridiculously good, they have plenty of other spectacular dishes. The home style Japanese dishes, like the curry, are spot on. They do a few seasonal items, such as tempura peach slices. The peach slices are best as a dessert with a little powdered sugar and the raspberry sauce. I have a hard time, every time, picking what to order when I go in. And I have yet to pick anything that did not meet my expectations. I will continue to go back there for a long time.

Sushi restaurants owned by Japanese people are usually better, and this place followed the trend! The space-efficient decor was definitely Japanese influenced. Each item is pricier than other restaurants, but I realized why when the food was served. They dont cut slivers of fish for the sushi-- they used slabs of fish 3 times thicker than any other sushi place in the area. The staff was super friendly and explained several dishes before we ordered. The extra few bucks is worth it when youre eating the best sushi in Georgia!

I have been to Sushi Ave four times. I ordered Chirashi bowl. Chefs preparation of assorted fish fillet was flawless. This is better than Nori Nori in the Rosewell area in terms of quality of each fillet: 1) freshness through the cool temperature; 2) the optimized texture; and 3) overt flavor. I have been traveling to the west coast, Japan, Korea and the east coast, trying different versions of sushi pieces. Sushi Ave is Snellvilles only authentic Japanese restaurant.

The best sushi Ive had other than the MFs. Service is not good. There is only one waitress because the place is very small. If youre in a hurry dont eat there, Call ahead for take-out. Also, sit at the bar, its easily accessible to the waitress so youll get better service. If you do eat there, prepare for a leisurely meal. The price could be better but its a new place so that is expected. If and when you go, get the calamari tempura, its in roll form and very unique.

This is hands down the best Sushi restaurant in town. Even when we go to other burrows of Atlanta and eat their local best, this place still tops it. The sushi is always on point! They also have plenty of choices and lots of spicy and crunchy options for those of us who like spicy mayonnaise and spicy rolls. They also have excellent service with the kindest servers I have ever had at a sushi establishment. We frequent here often and are never disappointed.

We eat here regularly. Its fantastic. Who knew sushi off of 124 in A would be so good. We went here after eating at the Decatur location, off the square. But now weve cone here so often, I think they recognize us. The staff is friendly and attentive. The food is awesome. Typical selections available and also the special of pan fried hamachi collar is really good. And ask for the house ginger, I must eat a cup of it every time!

First off food is a 5 star all the way.. But its 4 star for resent service... Last couple times of eating in restaurant you have to find someone to get a drink refill or service after they take your order.. Now not saying all servers are this way some are great there and I would always want thwm.. But some of the staff there doesnt care and thats what gets the 4 star rating..

This place is really great! A friend recommended it and I went in not expecting too much from a sushi joint in Snellville. However, everything was delicious and I was extremely impressed! My favorite is the Avocado Tempura. I have been back about twice a week since we discovered this little treasure. The waitstaff is extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

The sushi was nice but the tofu was disgusting and they were out of fried rice when we tried to order. On top of bad service, I also got food poisoning, which I am assuming was from the tofu since I was the only one afflicted and the only one eating it. I would definitely recommend considering going to a different, higher quality restaurant for a great sushi experience.

Server was not very attentive. Lobster in the lobster roll was obviously frozen. Tuna in tuna roll was not fresh and had a fishy taste that sushi grade tuna would not have unless it was old. There is no kids menu so the place is not very family friendly. We heard some good things about this place so we tried it and regretted it. Not going back.
