Visited the place 4 times ~ kept going back to see what is so good about them ~ 7/11/09 was my worst experience in all of my dinning history! First, if you are unfamilar with Mexican dishes you are SOL ~ not all Mexican restaurants are equal ~ at this place the waiters (males mostly) are cold, unresponsive, and unhospitable at least the four that served me ~ they did not make sugessions or offer popular items ~ there seemed to be a communication problem when asked ~ every meal I had was horrible ~ I tried the chicken soup ~ where do they get the chicken? The meat is hard and chewy ~ my salad was dry and tasteless ~ like artifical lectuce-yulk! ~ they could not even serve me a decent taco ~ I do like their margarittas ~ that is it!!! Secondly, customer service suks ~ unless you are white or of fair complexion donot bother patronizing this joint ~ in fact they should just hang the Jim Crow sign that reads "WHITES AND LIGHTS ONLY" ~ this way those of us who are of darker skin can save our money and they can keep their humiliation ~ they donot want Black customers in their restuarant and that is why they give us non-responsive, cold and uncaring service with dry food to boot ~ if you want a good margaritta go sit at the bar and enjoy a nice drink ~ they will gladly get you drunk to take your money ~ but if you require food service donot be disappointed if it is horrible because you have been warned. Lastly, they donot have to worry about me darkening their door post again!

As soon as we were seated our waiter immediately brought out chips and salsa, and took our orders for drink. They were very prompt throughout our whole meal, making sure we were taken care of or if we needed anything else. The food was excellent, reminds me of the authentic Mexican food style that I used to be able to get when I lived in California for 20+ years. All the food we ordered tasted fresh and had plenty of flavor. The enchiladas, taquitos and even their take on a taco salad. Usually we find that most Mexican restaurants rice and beans are lacking, either one or the other or both, BUT this place had them both spot on. Excellent service and food to the very last drop. The setup was a little crowded and noisy but hey its a good known Mexican restaurant, very very hard to find!

Negative 5 I have never been so pissed when going to a restaurant we sat down ordered our food but we were neglected the attention was at the bar so we order and wait an hour and 30 minutes for food that was sitting somewhere because it was cold when he brought it right after I said where is our food just before I go to the bathroom and it was disgusting it looked like a portable bathroom there was piss everywhere on the floor poop smeared on the trashbin I just got up and left right after seeing and feeling that cold food Im glad the manager or owner wasnt there because I would have definitely cursed him out I wont even think about trying this place again but even if the food is free

I frequent this restaurant quite often. First, the customer service is fantastic! Every time that I come there I am greeted with hugs and a kiss on the cheek. The waiters are so attentive you pretty much feel like family. Second, the drinks. Holy hell if you like margaritas you have hit the mother load! I am never able to get more than one Texas Margarita. They are definitely not stingy with the liquor. Third, the food is excellent! I have never gotten anything from there that I wasnt pleased with. El Jinete is the bomb! I dont know anywhere that I can spend $20.00 and leave full, tipsy, and completely satisfied. I never leave less than a $10.00 tip. They so deserve it!

This used to be an awesome place to eat and have drinks. Now, not so much. The food and drinks ate still great, if you dont mind waiting. On an average out takes 10-15 minutes before the waiter even comes to the table. The first couple of times that I experienced bad and slow service, I tried to be understanding. However, Ive been back several times since and each its the same thing. Bad and slow service. I live close by so Ive gone many times and I have finally decided to stop. Tonight my husband and I were left sitting and waiting, again, for 13 minutes and no one ever came to assist us. We waited a few minutes more and then decided to leave. We wont be back....

Best fajitas Ive ever had and some really good chicken tortilla soup. Theres really nothing else to say. Everything else is like a standard Mexican restaurant. I will add that when I went there were a lot of older, belligerent (perhaps) regulars by the bar, bad mouthing illegals and yelling stricter border control. I found this a little inappropriate given.... u know, but you cant change the crowd. Oh, I only use belligerent because their conversation also turned to bestiality. So if you have children or a sensitive stomach dont sit by the bar. Neither this nor Trumps wall could keep me away from those fajitas though.

The food here is great, but the margaritas are better. They are both huge and STRONG. The last meal I had here was the pollo ranchero, which is pretty standard at most Mexican restaurants. However, theirs comes topped with spinach, onions, and mushrooms in addition to queso. Never in my life have I had a better pollo ranchero. I cant wait to sample the rest of their menu. There are Mexican restaurants closer to my house, but from now on, I dont think Ill even bother.

The menu is very diverse and the drinks are super strong. We ordered the chicken tortilla soup as an appetizer. Although it was good, it came out with the entrees instead of early as an appetizer. The food was okay. I thought the shrimp was seasoned really well but the chicken was just okay. My husband got the burrito loco and he loved it. I would recommend you try it out. The shopping center is pretty dead with the exception of this restaurant and the Goodwill.

So much food, and great prices. We get the fajitas for 2, and we have enough leftovers that we can eat from it again that night as a late night meal, and my fiance can take a big lunch to work the next day !! And its never over$ 30.00, with our drinks. Not only that but the food is really good. They are always so busy so the service is a little slow. They could use more servera maybe..but really that is to be expected from a busy restaurant. I love eating here

So totally NOT worth a long trip. Decent food that is better than frozen or leftovers but so is Checkers and Checkers is cheaper. Drove 30 minutes to get there because we had a gift card and the store would not honor their own gift card. Unless it is in the neighborhood cook dinner tonight, you will be much happier with the results. I can think of a lot better things to do with my time than drive to a half-way decent restaurant.

Awesome service, great food, even better drinks, very friendly happy hour crowd on Fridays. I take all my friends when they come to town. Easy to get to know everyone and become a regular.......oh yea.... did I mention they hands down make the best drinks ever. They are never watered down, never to much alcohol that thats all you taste, perfect mix of ingredients to have you tipsy for sure. Come hang out you wont regret it!!!!
