I truly believe in constructive criticism. And being a licensed Hairstylist for over 20 years I welcome it! I want to first say that I think Lexie at Perk n Pooch is Amazing however she is not a groomer she is a manager and the owners daughter. I got my Shih TZU groomed there on Friday. His appointment was at 2, because I work at the salon next door I took him in at 10. He has allot hair and had some matting issues, I was under the impression he would be dematted and cut low for the summer. I went to get him at 4, he was not ready, they told me to come back at 6. When I picked him up I was really disappointed. I waited until the next day and went in and informed Lexie. She told me that she wanted me to speak with Susan the groomer that had groomed him. I was reluctant and told her that I just wanted to inform Perk n Pooch of this situation. I got up this morning and looking at my dog I decided to go to Perk and Pooch and show them my dog. Upon walking in I spoke with the owners Sister whom was very pleasant. Susan the groomer was at the front desk and she looked at me and said she needed to speak with me. I waited until the customers had cleared out and we sit in the couch and spoke. She was immediately on the defensive side. I told her that I was not there to put her down, I just came to speak with her about the matter, her attitude was horrible and she even told me that I should have comb my dog hair more often. I explained to her that he was washed with a shampoo that caused that matting, she look at me and argued there was no way and insisted he had been matted for a long time. Susan had groomed Kalvin before and I honestly didnt really liked the way she groomed him. I really like Lexi at Perk n Pooch and patronize them because of the friendly neighbor policy I believe in. THE ONLY REASON I WROTE THIS REVIEW WAS BECAUSE OF THE TREATMENT I RECIEVE TODAY FROM SUSAN THE GROOMER. My advice to Susan in the event that the service will leave a pet with short and long hair, bald spots throughout their entire body call and inform the owner first and allow the owner to make the decision about the grooming service. Honestly I think she was overbooked and did a rush job after he had been there all day. Susan informed me that she did not want to groom my dog again. Do you honestly think I want you to groom him again?Take care! Thank you for your time in viewing this post. Updated!!!!! I had my dog groomed and cut down a few weeks ago. Actually there! Take responsibility for your actions! You could of simply refused to service him! You HAVE NEVER SPOKEN TO ME ABOUT MY DOG! But thats okay!!! Thank you! Take Care!! When we moved to the area wed take our one dog for long walks. We found the owner outside the café and they talked about their little business. When I took my chi-pug they were wonderful. I started taking my Shih Tzu as well and he loved the spa days. Then they lost a groomer and the cuts got worse. I kept going because Lexie is so sweet. My dog and I went on a 2 year move to FL and came back and things have changed so much. I find the a la carte list of services has changed and they are no longer accommodating to my requests. All I asked for was a face, feet and fanny package and appointment times and the young man said no. we walked out promptly. I wonder if they got bought over? I need some recommendations for groomers. PetSmart is so inconsistent.

Brought my golden doodle there 3 times. the first two we received great service. the last time was a nightmare. they said they couldnt give her, her proper cut because she was too matted but she wasnt the matted at all they just didnt want to take the time to do it. they expressed her anal glands without my permission and there was feces all over her rear end when i picked her up. she was cut so low especially in her private areas and was given razor burn which effected her for a week when she would go to the bathroom. lastly, i think they may have waxed the inside of her ears and one ear was completely scabbed over and had dried blood in it. consider other groomers

This family owned business is great. The staff are pretty amazing and they absolutely care for wellness of the dogs. And that to me is very important since ive had bad experiances with gromers before. Teddy is a pom with very long fluffy fur (well thanks to them he has a beautiful short puppy cut for the summer heat) he seemed to have enjoyed his time, and 3 hours and a furterminator and a hair cut later, he was still a happy energetic pup when he came home. I will definitely go back again. I will definitely recommend this place, and will always bring teddy here from.now on, even if i live farther away from the place! An amazing experience

I stumbled upon this little shop one Saturday while out with my pup and have been coming here a few times now but I always use their DIY tubs, as I personally prefer the bonding time of bathing and grooming my dog myself. Every time my pup and I visit though, we are always treated wonderfully by the staff there, even if we show up and all of the stations are in use, they waste no time in adjusting things so that I dont have to wait long (if at all) for an open tub. I wish there were more locations like this, not just with proper bath equipment but with a grooming table and adequate dryer for you to use as well at a decent price.

I would not recommend taking your dog here. Immediately upon walking in the place is so loud you can barely speak to another person, if it is that loud to me I can only imagine how stressful that is for a dog. When I took my dog home I noticed a small nick behind her front leg that no one mentioned when I picked her up. My dog is usually playful and happy after grooming, but this time she was exhausted and wouldnt leave my side. Her anal glands also became infected after taking her here, which has never happened before. I will not be taking my dog back to this establishment.

I have a really fearful dog, we adopted him a year ago and while we do our best to socialize him, hes still a bit of a jerk when it comes to vet visits/grooming/things like that. So needless to say I was a bit nervous to take him to get groomed. Lexis did an amazing job. She was patient with him and didnt push him farther than he could go and we ended up getting his nails dremeled and bathed in about an hour and a half. If youre on the fence because you have a fearful dog, talk with them about it and let them know, because we will definitely be back again.

The owners and staff are wonderful people who really care about the service theyre providing, and not surprisingly, theyre dog lovers themselves. If your dog is in need of a bath and you dont want to deal with it in your home or backyard, go visit the good folks at Perk-n-Pooch and theyll get your dog cleaned up while you enjoy a nice cup of coffee.
