5 stars for what this place is, a buffet. This place is an Americanized Asian buffet (good variety with your typical "Chinese food" fare plus some less common items) with a sushi bar and hibachi bar. I enjoy the regular buffet food. It is always good quality and reasonably fresh. My wife really enjoys the hibachi bar. You pick your own food (steak, chicken, shrimp, veggies, etc.) and then you give it to the hibachi guy to cook on the hibachi grill. Its the hibachi food without the "experience" or price. All you can eat! What I REALLY love, and why I really go, is the sushi bar. I LOVE sushi. I appreciate quality sushi. The problem is, sushi is expensive & good quality sushi is absurdly expensive. I can eat whatever I want from the regular buffet, sushi or hibachi bars but I always eat my fill of sushi here. It isnt top quality, it is an all-you-can-eat buffet, after all. But it is above average good sushi and you CANT beat good all you can eat sushi for ≈ $12-$13 (I believe, the typical buffet price). I have tried a number of sushi buffet locations all over metro Atlanta. This is one of my 2 favorites and leaps & bounds above most. I wish they would keep the sushi better stocked as it is eaten, especially the nigiri, but to be fair the sushi bar is not hugely popular at this location. I guess not that many people in this area appreciate sushi. Most who get sushi here seem to do so sparingly to try it so the sushi bar doesnt always get the same attentiveness as the other areas. Its still good.

I went here with my family on 3 separate occasions and had a terrible experience because we were racially profiled each time. The first time my family and I went we got our food, ate it, and then paid for it afterwards as is the process for eating at Hibachi. After we paid and sat back down to finish our meal, the servers came to our private room and asked us if wed paid for our meal, we assured the servers that wed paid and showed them our receipts. Wed noticed that they did not ask any of the other families or groups whether or not they had paid, but didnt want to read into anything. We came back the next week, worked the same process of getting our food, eating it, and then paying for it, only to have the servers come by again, accusing us of not having paid for our meals, we kindly showed them our receipts, and finished our meal. We decided to give them one last chance, this time when we came we paid for our meals before getting our food and showed the servers and management our receipt, only to have the servers enter into our private room and accuse us of not paying again. After dining at Sakura Hibachi Sushi Buffet, Im convinced that the ownership and staff have some deep-seated prejudices towards African-Americans and would not advise anyone to dine at this restaurant.

I visited this restaurant as a part of a large group (30+ people). We were seated in the room they have available for groups. Everything was fine until it was time to pay. A woman employed here came in the room to get information about who was on what ticket. She completely interupted our experience by harassing people about who was on their ticket. She would not simply take our word. Rather than allow us to give her the information, she loudly and rudely pointed out people, checked and checked and checked again. It was clear that she didnt trust that we were giving her accurate information. It was clear that their system for large groups was not efficient at all. Upon returning to the restaurant a 2nd time we dealt with the same harassment. As a result, we requested to pay prior to being seated upon our next visit and they agreed. As agreed, every family that attended with our group paid upon arriving at the restaurant only to be harrassed again prior to leaving. They were certain that someone in our party did not pay. There are clearly some racial and prejudice issues with this establishment and we will no longer patronize them and endure such harassment. #blacklivesmatter #moneytalks

First off I came here excited to eat the buffet and everything it has to offer, well everything I thought it would have. The pictures on the website are beyond deceiving. Being a sushi lover I was very disappointed in the low choices of sushi and the taste of just about every single one made it even a worse experience. Not a single nigiri or sashimi roll that I saw on the website was at the bar. The roll that had what I THINK was smooshed up salmon almost made me barff. I can take very strong tastes and this was the taste as if it had gone completely bad and been sitting for a WHILE. The shrimp at the other bar I could literally taste as if it was cleaned under water with soap. Chicken I could tell was microwaveable just covered in sauce. Service was ok, Ive seen much better. The constant rushing makes you feel uncomfortable and always on edge to satisfy them into taking all your plates off the table. The bathroom stalls do not even lock. People please do not waste your time here there are much better places that are also more enjoyable. I have eaten at numerous Japanese buffets and this is by far the worst.

I have dined at this restaurant several times with a group from my church. Each time we have gotten unacceptably bad service. During our meal the servers were constantly coming into our private room asking the ages of our children, confirming whether we were drinking water or soda, and in essence harassing us as if we were attempting to avoid paying. We enjoyed the food, so we attempted to return to the restaurant and offered to have everyone pay at the door. We did this and the servers continued to come into our room counting the individuals there as if someone had come in who had not paid, although we literally stood at the counter with each person as they paid and they staff watched our people walk into our private room. We shared with them our displeasure regarding our experiences and they not only did not rectify the issue, they became even more disrespectful and accusatory. It is obvious that they do not appreciate their customers and I honestly felt that our group was being discriminated against. We attempted to give this restaurant another chance, but we will never take our business to them again.

If I could not provide a star rating for this recent exeperience I would. Seemingly this is the only way to post my dissatisfaction of customer service at this place. Please note I have eaten here before and the quality of service was ok. But what puzzles me the most is how the price for the take out buffet is $20... I had a co-worker to pickup the take out buffet for lunch. Upon arrival the front cashier/waitress was told a to-go box was needed for the buffet. I understand the food price depends on the weight in the box (weighed by the lb) $5.99lb. But to come up with $20 for the price and for what wasnt ordered is unreasonable. There is more to this story-rating besides the unsatified service. There was a phone conversation that took place and clearly proves the standard communication of English was not understood. Be warned if eating here...make sure the wait staff understands what you are requesting and leave no room for miscommunication because there is no refund, nor replacement of food...
