I was searching for the perfect spot for my wedding reception and looked at tons of places. None of them seemed quite right so I turned to my own backyard. I called up Wahoo! Grill – a restaurant a short drive from my house that I love to visit. Lucky me…they do weddings! From the first meeting to after the event, the owner – Pam- and the staff at Wahoo were a dream to work with. They made planning fun and light and were genuinely excited to be involved. Since I didn’t have a wedding coordinator, they guided me through the key moments of the reception and gave me tips and advice to make the event more successful. They were always on top of it, taking time to answer my (sometimes huge) lists of questions. On the day of, I was blown away by how perfect the space was for the reception. We ended up with about 140 people, but the way the rooms were set made the space feel warm and intimate. The gardens and patio outside were gorgeous. And all of the little touches that make Wahoo special lent a wonderful feel to the event. The staff was incredibly attentive and kept everything running smoothly (even when a little rain shower required shifting of a few tables). We were able to relax and enjoy our family and friends, while Wahoo ran the show. They even had a dedicated staff member for my new husband and me…felt like royal treatment. Pam was able to work with my budget and really helped us make the event our own. She was incredibly flexible and accommodating with our menu choices – even creating a new dish for us – and a huge help in figuring out wine selections. As always, the food, wine and service were outstanding. Lots of compliments from guests and folks who had never visited, but were planning to return. To anyone who is planning to host an event, I can’t recommend Wahoo enough. And if you don’t have grand plans yet, visit them for a dinner out. You won’t be disappointed!

We decided to dine here based on many reviews here and on other sites. Right away, the staff here is incredibly nice. Atmosphere both inside and outside is fantastic - low key and comfortable. Our server was great - attentive, knowledgeable and just down-right friendly. For the apps we ordered Chèvre Brûlée and Fried Calamari. The cheese plate was uninspiring. The cheese was OK, bread was boring. The Fried Calamari didnt come with the spicy hoisin and instead with what looked more like an oil based sauce. Still, we were hungry and didnt let any of it go to waste. For the main course we ordered the Sesame-Crusted Ahi Tuna and Charleston Shrimp & Grits. Shrimp and Grits were decent. Where Wahoo! dropped the ball was the tuna. The sauce was supposed to be wasabi based but was a normal horseradish base instead. Did they run out of wasabi? If so, who in the world would think horseradish is an acceptable substitute? Seriously disappointed. To round things off we ordered the bread pudding for desert. It was good. Will we go back? Probably not. Too many missteps for one evening to warrant a return.

We have been fans of Wahoo since moving nearby in 11. However, the last two visits have been disappointing. This past winter, they were seriously understaffed and it took over 45 mins to get served. Last night, we took advantage of a 2 for 1 entree labor day special. Showed up at 6:50 for a 7 PM reservation and got seated at 7:15...even though there were multiple tables at the front window. When we walked in, the table closest to the front desk sat un-bussed and that continued for almost 35 mins. Either they were understaffed again or they are incompetent or both. As that is the first thing everyone checking in sees, that table should have been immediately cleaned. Server was great and food was good although my wifes stir-fried tofu was drowning in soy sauce. Last slap-in-the-face was that the restaurant added a 20% tip stating that "it was part of the special". I went back to check the email and could not find any reference to a mandatory tip. We have a certificate for a free dinner for two and that will likely be the last visit to this restaurant. Very sad.

It was my first time coming here. If theres a spot available, you can park on the street but you can also valet for just $2. We had reservations for 1:30 and we were seated right around that time on the patio. I skimmed the menu and quickly realized that the brunch buffet was the best option for me. It was around the same price as most of the entrees ($18) and its BOTTOMLESS which definitely excited my inner (and outter for now) fat boy! The food on the brunch buffet was delicious. The salmon and pimiento spreads were flavorful and the breads were so soft. The shrimp and grits are on point! They put them at the end of the buffet and I think its so that by the time you get to them, you wont have enough room on your plate to pile up. The trick worked on both my trips because there are so many other forms of deliciousness that I couldnt resist. French toast, turkey sausage, hash browns, Cajun chicken, potato salad and mini strawberry muffins just to name a few things. I dont know where this place has been all my brunching life but Im so glad weve been united.

I took my mom here for her birthday. It was 7 of us. We had a really bad server though. I dont want blame the entire restaurant though. I think if we would of had a good server we would have really enjoyed ourselves. I think our server just had a bad day. We asked for the house wines and he said they didnt carry house wines. But we had a Groupon that said we get 4 house wines. Then he found the house wines. Lol. He also took forever taking our orders. Then he never brought out our appetizers! Lol Then we asked for the chocolate bday cake and he brought out the bread pudding and we stopped singing happy birthday until he brought the right cake out. We didnt even get any discounts on our meal either! But the overall place was nice and the food was good. I would probably go again. Nice place for a date.

If we could say “Thank You” over 100 times we would. Thank you for making our wedding day a wonderful event. Thank you to the wonderful staff (event and wait staff) for helping plan our special day and having this day go by flawlessly. Thank you for the great food. I have guests that still talk about our wedding from the venue to the brunch menu (hashbrown casserole was a big hit). We could not have planned for a better day and Wahoo Grill was the best place for this happen. If you are looking for a hidden gem to plan any event we recommend Wahoo. We had friends that returned the next week for the Wahoo experience. Thank you again. The Starkes (03.26.2017)

Awful experience. From the $2 for valet parking (tip optional), to the incompetent service, to the just competent food. Everyone in our party left embarrassed that we had chosen Wahoo to celebrate the birthday of our guest. Too many errors to mention. There are far too many excellent places (with free parking) in this neck of the woods to bother with Wahoo. The pretense (20% gratuity added with room for more?) and incompetence were alarming—a product of the Atlanta restaurant scene where places like this become "precious" and overrun with sycophantic guests who should Google up some better and more deserving options.
