Been going there for 15 years. Service has always been mediocre at best. There are no employees at that establishment. Everybody who works there is related to someone who owns the place. The shopping etiquette is you shove yourself in the first available counter space and stare at the nearest worker. When they look at you you start pointing what you want and how much. You dont ask questions, you dont chat, you dont wonder, you dont compare shop. You point and they gather. Then you give money and you go away fast (dont loiter). Its a good system that works because that small room can get mega crowded. This isnt your cute butcher shop where you can waste time. Patak is a high volume meat wholesaler. They are tailored as such. Dont let the décor fool you. If you have no idea what something is you just pass it or get it to try it and you know for next time. Thats how it works. Prices are cheap enough you can do that. My problem is with the meat quality. It has been spotty for the past 2 years. Ground meats arent fresh underneath and a lot of the sausages are downright disgusting at times. The consistency of batches is slipping. They also seem to be out of stock of product depending on the day you go; they dont seem to resupply during the day even if product is in the back. And no, they wont get it for you either. Come back tomorrow, comrade. You take what we have now. Its hilarious watching the Americans cry over the service. Yeah you know.. its kinda their thing. They are aware and I suspect they do it just to screw with those attention needy people; you want attention, go waste peoples time at your local Kroger.

I almost hate to mention what a "jewel" this shop is. Ive been twice, The first time I bought cooked brats made of beef and pork, a light almost blond color. They were fantastic cooked with some sauerkraut I had rinsed and cooked in white wine. The other brat I purchased was an uncooked beef and pork one which I liked even better. I bought a 3.5 pound smoked Boston butt for $11 which smells wonderful but I havent tried yet, a smoked pig knuckle that had just come out of their smoker, and when I took a bite, I thought it was the best meat I had ever tasted. I also got a piece of Bohemian salami that was very "clean" tasting, probably somewhat spicy for younger palates, the best Ive ever had outside of Bloomsburg, PA. I tried to go back yesterday which was the Friday before the 4th of July weekend, and couldnt get into the parking lot easily it was so crowded, so I vowed to go bake today! One last comment and then Ill shut up. I hadnt eaten all day and as I was checking out I spied one lonely cannoli. I see what people see in a New York City cannoli now, I almost wrecked on the way home I was so ecstatic! Anyway, Ive said too much and now Im probably going to be standing in line behind some of you!

If I want fresh smoked meats this is definitely the place to go. I also buy my chicken wings and breasts from here also. The first two times I went the lines were out of the door...usually this happens on the weekend or around a holiday. Its best to go during the week early in the day before 4pm. The service well Ive had good service thus far until recently. I spent roughly $40 and I wanted wings, well I pretty much got the last and wanted a pound more. They were in the back and she hated to make a trip to the back and get them! First of all, let me say this, great customer service goes a long way. Whether they are from here or not, they recognize the American dollar a mile away...and at the end of the day we pay their salary...period. I wasnt being rude or asking her to do anything beyond her job. I couldnt get my own meat so being rude..doesnt fly well with me. It was like she hated being there. I would have spent a lot more but I felt like she didnt value me as a customer. I know that wouldnt hurt their business one cent, but I made a stand as a customer.

Stick with the meats...Not bad, Great if you want their opinion.... Your Does not count. I purchased Herring from the cooler and it was "Really Bad". I questioned them before I purchased, but they can do No Wrong. Ask them yourself. When I called to complain, I was met with and extremely rude and hard to understand female individual. I called back for the manager and was given the lady who answers the phone...obviously the screener........She like the first woman told me that the Herring was good and if I did not like the product, then it was not their concern....They would not even exchange for another item. I insisted on Speaking with the manger/owner, left my name and telephone number. Still no return call.....two weeks later...... Customer Service simply Does Not Exist at Patak, so once you purchase, you are on your own............Burn me after years of patronage....Shame on You...........

Went to Fort Benning to visit my daughter...I was so excited had planned this trip for months. Was so hurt by the cold treatment and sorry customer service...They were very impatient. Came thirty minutes before closing with a 200 dollar order. Clearly wanted us out...turned out the lights before i had my bags off the counter. They closed st 6...it was 6:05. I had planned on returning for German friends that are retired from Army and German Airforce but I decided that I will give my business to some one else. Obviously they dont need my money. Wont send my daughter either. I rather ship it overnight from another butcher. All i can say is I have never seen so many miserable old women in one place. There was a young friendly blonde out of tbe bunch that made the disappointment bearable.

The BEST MEATS ever! Their bacon is the best you will ever have. The hot dogs, smoked pork chops, you name it, everything is great! All product dont have even quarter of the sodium that store brands have and if you try their meat product, you will be hooked on them. They will slice your bacon and meats any thickness you want. Their meats dont have near the amount of preservatives all other meats you buy at the store have, therefore dont last longer than 2 weeks. If you are planning to keep their meats longer, freeze or at least vacuum-seal them to enjoy longer. They are very busy, especially around holidays, but they have great products. Smoked turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas anyone? You have to pre-order it, but it is very juicy and tasty. Absolutely the best around Atlanta!!!

Absolutely the best meats, cold-cuts, salami, sausages, liverwurst, Fleisch and leberkaese, you name it in all the South East, not just in the Atlanta area!!! This is a true Bohemian Butcher Shop that you only know from Germany, Poland, Czech Republic. The have everything from fresh meats, to smoked treats that every European is missing here in the USA. Go there early and be aware that they are not open every day and close early!!! All the prices are more than reasonable. You can also find imported stuff from Germany and other Eastern European countries. I am a more than satisfied customer for almost 8 years now, and I dont care that I have to drive 40 Miles one way, or the sometimes long wait in line to get to the delicious meats...
