Hayseed Café – just like dining at home On a recent trip to Bushnell, we drove by the Hayseed Café (in nearby Webster). It was too late to stop that day, so we promised ourselves to come back another time. We had the opportunity this past weekend when we were in the area for the Reenactment at the nearby Dade Battlefield. After a full day of walking and sightseeing, we were ready for a good home cooked meal at the Hayseed Café. Being a Sundy, we had the pleasure of “re-visiting” Thanksgiving. On the buffet was turkey with all the trimmimgs, roast beef, ham, soups, a variety of salad items, and home-made desserts. Side dishes like cornbred, sweet potato casserole, and green bean casserole reminded us of home. Everything was absolutely delicious and we went back for seconds before sampling the many dessert items. Sweet tea (a local favorite) was the perfect complement to our meal. Although it was almost closing time, we did not feel rushed. In fact, everyone was friendly, warm, and inviting. The Hayseed Café is a little off the beaten path, but it’s well worth the trip and is a true goldmine. The items on the buffet change regularly, and a phone call to the Café will get you a list of the day’s featured items. Do yourself a favor, plan a trip to the Hayseed Café. You won’t be disappointed.

After being closed for the last year and a half or so the Hayseed has re-opened. On the positive side everyone was very nice, but we both had the buffet and it couldnt have been much worse. Both the fried chicken and the baked chicken were so dry they were practically inedible. Also tried some type of Hawaiian Bar-B-Que (at least I guess that is what youd call it - it had pineapple in it) and that meat was as dry as a bone as well. Also had some skillet macaroni and cheese and that was cooked alright but was at room temperature. Hopefully the new crew in here will make the necessary improvements. The night we ate here was probably just their 4th or 5th night open. Also we have not eaten off the menu yet - that might all be great. Lord knows we need another decent restaurant in Webster.

I wish I could say I love this place BUT... a few weeks ago they were already closed..... So drive north less then 1 mile on the other side of the street ... You will find Deli signs and a great little place Fresh Subs @ Great prices! Oh very nice hometown people too.. Inside or outside seating..

We stopped here on the way home to Alabama from Lakeland, FL. The service was excellent, the food was perfect, and the sweet tea was well worth refills & a to go cup. The interior was clean & welcoming. Absolutely nothing negative to say about it.

We bike to the hayseed often. Its just a family place to eat. My problem is my eyes are bigger than my belly. The southern fried chicken is out of this world. the buffet is to dye for. Dont try to put one over on the girls, they are good.

It is so difficult to operate a legitimate business in America today. Sorry the bureaucrats have gotten the best of the Hayseed Cafe. I loved the "Closed" sign in the window. I posted it on Facebook. Doug Mesina, Lakeland Fl.

Excellent experience all around. Nice little gem that surprises you from the moment you open the door. We were quite impressed with the food quality and service. Our new place for when we want to escape the city dining.

Very busy on a Monday flea market day. Had a ham and cheese pannini with fries which was very yummy. My friend had the buffet and enjoyed it. We like to eat here when we come down for the flea market.
