NOT EVEN My DOG WOULD EAT THIS CRAP!!!!!!! I have eaten in Tampa Spanish restaurants all my life (40 years) First , the waitress spoke no English nor did she try to communicate in English at all! Then there was the food, I ordered the Pollo Milenisa with yellow rice and plantains First the chicken was so overcooked that I had to cut off the edges to get to an edible part, there was almost no tomato sauce and the chicken was a step above T.V. dinner quality. In fact thats what it tasted like was a tv dinner breaded chicken. The rice had spots where it was dry and stuck together and also inedible. The plantains which are normal a little slimy and soft (as they should be) were over cooked and dry as a bone! Speaking of bones I usually take my left overs to my dog it was not even worthy to be taken home to my dog! I also ordered Ham Croquettes , they were undercooked and looked they had been microwaved, mushy, no crispy outside. My Mother who goes in there regularly got breakfast and her eggs were cold and instead of pancakes she wanted toast , however our waitress could not get that straight with her inability to speak any English. The Cuban bread was also cold! SO upon leaving i was very displeased and when we rang up our $24 bill I scoffed and told the owner about how bad the food was. He did not seem to care at all, didnt seem surprised I said it. gave us no discount nor did he offer us a dessert or coffee in lieu of a discount for the poor quality of food and service. He did apologize without looking at us and while he took our money and then apologized again with his back turned to us, he seemed to be very fake and di not care about one unhappy new customer or an unhappy existing customer. Go to La Teresita it is much better faster and fresher. And the staff and owners are very nice and concerned about their customer base. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON Big Girl Andy and his sorry sandwich shop!

I just moved to Tampa from Miami and have to say that the food is great. Any time I had to come to the West Coast, West Tampa Sandwich Shop was always my place to break for lunch. In fact, my wife would prepare a dinner list to bring home. Jose, I dont know who you are but you are a true liar because the food inspection results are PUBLIC RECORDS and I found NO VIOLATIONS. You can make all the claims you want, sounds to most like you are a disgruntled former employer (if you even worked there) looking for revenge. Let it go, you know this is a quality family oriented sandwich shop and each plate is made with love. The owners dont know me, I was not compensated in any way, it just boils my nerves when a family works as hard as they do and then some punk makes false accusations about adding bread with the beef, how do you think the meal is prepared? My mom does the same thing to blend flavor and bulk up the dish. When you open up a successful famous sandwich shop and devote your blood, sweat and love, call me and I will bring as many people as you want and we will rate your food and you have to let us inspect your kitchen and food prep areas. My mom always said, " if you have nothing nice to say, dont say anything at all". I think that applies here and if you were a real man, you might want to apologize to this hardworking family for your lies and exaggerations, that is, if they even want to hear from you!

I never ever leave reviews. Ever! I made it an effort to post to their Facebook also because it was just that good. The place is of course a small hole in the wall type thing but those ate usually the best places! Its always super packed so please call ahead trust me. I ordered the honey Cuban large an got 2 for $12 which is an awesome price. Do not order the small its literally maybe 3 bites an your done but the lady on the phone already suggested I do not get the small but I didnt listen lol. My son loved it tho! The honey Cuban is amazing its warm an full of meat that falls out. The Cuban bread has a lightly sweet honey taste an I have hated honey my whole life but was in love with this instantly. I ate my whole entire sand which in one sitting which I never do! I am going back today for another I am officially messing up my diet but its so worth it...

Jose Batista is a liar. I contract with these people. The food is good and the place is clean. My clients are very happy with the food the restaurant provides. The owners are very hard working people who go out of their way to provide good service and food. Bo Z needs to get his cultures straight. If he went there for Spanish food he didnt get any. This is Cuban food, not Spanish. As to the quality of his food I have to say that as a patron and a contractor who has taken many a prospect there, I can say, his review is way off the mark and just plain not true. If he was so dissatisfied he could have asked to have the food taken back and replaced. The President has eaten here, all the politicos and local celebs eat there and the place is always packed. That should tell you something.

Consistently great food. Sandwiches are wonderful! Especially like the tripleletta and the steak. We usually get order the works omelettes for breakfast take out most weekends. Great coffee con leche. Can be very crowded. If you are getting takeout, order before you arrive otherwise it will take twice as long to get your order; Ive even called in an order while waiting in line. The take out business is huge, it would be good if they had a window for that and could call your number when your order was ready. Wish they would be open later during the day, at least until 4:30, so i could pick up sandwiches on the way home.

Jose Batista is a liar. He has never worked for West Tampa Sandwich Shop. I can confirm this because I am the owners daughter. On the claims that he makes regarding our empanadas and ropa vieja they are also false. Jose I have filed a complaint with google and will be speaking to my lawyer regarding these defmatory claims. I have no problems with you not like our restaurant but to make false claims like this is wrong and a lie. In regards to the cleanliness of the restaurant this information is public record and anyone that wants to check it out may do so, let our record speak for it self.

The only reason why I dont give it 5 stars is because the service can be a bit rough at times. I would say "understaffed" but I always see at least 4-5 girls running around in such a little place. OTHER THAN THAT, this place has some of the best sandwiches, hell, even Obama has been here. Their palomilla sandwich, just amazing! Great for breakfast too. Their french toasts may not look all that, but they are quite flavorful! I would definitely call ahead to order instead of ordering at the location, because like I said before, it can get pretty hectic.
