Breweries cant get any better than this. First things first the beer at Coppertail is out of this world. They have their core four (Unholy, Night Swim, Wheat Stoke, & Free Dive) that they always have and the rest of the beer list is always rotating depending on what they are making and tapping. They update their menu daily. Guest taps are also a thing at Coppertail where they showcase a few beers from other breweries. The atmosphere of Coppertail is modern yet rustic, very warm and inviting but also cool and edgy. I think the art is what really ties everything in so well. For those that are really into the art they do have merch! (Shirts, posters, etc) The Staff at Coppertail is amazing as well. Tours of the brewery are available for a little more than the cost of a single beer & you get a free beer anyways. They pour a few beers on the tour that they are working on and you get a sweet Coppertail glass. The tour is totally a steal, what you get for the price makes no sense but thats what makes this place so awesome. (Ive done the tour twice because why not?) Coppertail also does cool brew events, growler specials, special keg tappings, mini pop-up flea market events, and always have new beers to try. You can usually always find a good food truck parked right outside but I also heard that food is coming soon which is the only thing Coppertail doesnt have. Im excited to see this place continue to grow over the coming years.

The brewery bar is a large space with board games scattered around on the tables, and bean bag toss outside, creating a fun playful environment. The interior bar area is a dit dimly lit compared to the sunny exterior seating area, but the dark wood furniture and accents make it feel homey and comfy instead of dark and gloomy. The bar windows provide a view into the brewery letting visitors see exactly where the beer theyre drinking was made, creating a stronger connection between the beer and the drinker. Taking a tour of the brewery is a good way to spend 20-30 minutes of your visit, and the added perks are tastings of the current batches in production and a souvenir Copper Tail glass to take with you. If I remember correctly, the tour was only $7 and comes with one beer ticket before or after the tour starts, so its already good value for your money on to of being an interesting experience, not to mention the tour guides, who are entertaining and also work in the brewing process and therefore are knowledgeable about each step of the process and can add personal experiences to make the tire more personal.

We decided to stop in and check it out on a whim. It is a really neat place. The bar/restaurant area has a neat vibe. It was very busy for a Sunday. The bar tenders and staff were very nice. The have a huge collection of their own brews to sample or buy. We decided to take a tour of the brewery, which we didnt know they did until we got there. For only $7.50 a person we got a pint of beer, a pint glass to keep, and two samples while on the tour. For a local craft brewery, it is pretty good size and they are expanding their warehouse area for bottling. Ashley was a tour guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her job. She has a great personality. I got the sense that everyone who works here likes their job. The beers were great, especially if you like to try different things. They seem to be very successful at creating a variety of flavors that appeal to many. it is a nice place to just stop in, grab a bite, have a pint and hang out. The atmosphere is fun

Very friendly staff. I like certain types of beers, so they suggested various ones of theirs that may fit my palate (I, of course, opted for the flight so I could try a few different beers). Their beers are delicious. Plain and simple. They had a wide variety of styles that should fit most any beer connoisseur. Also seems like their diving further into sour beers for the time being. I also decided to take the tour. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable of the process. He also did a pretty good job of trying to stay focused on the two people (myself included) on the tour that were really interested in how it all works while also keeping an eye on or answering some silly questions from a few young guys that had obviously had a bit much to drink already. The only downfall was that they dont serve food, but youre welcome to order delivery there, so I wont knock off a rating for that. They specialize in beer, focus on that. :-)

Good beer, terrible service. From the moment you walk into this establishment its very apparent that lots of cash was put into the physical building itself as well as the brewing equipment. Very impressive setup. They offer a good selection of brews. All of the standards you would expect (ipa, porter, wheat, Pilsner, etc.) but they also had a Gose and Berliner and this occasion. Overall the beer is at or above standard for a typical local brewery. The service on the other hand is horrendous! Slow... Attitude... and did I mention slow? I sat there for 10 minutes and none of the 4 bartenders even as much as said hello. Not can I fill that enormous growler you just walked in with something sir? If youre down with the whole hipster too cool for school microbrew attitude with a food truck parked outside, than maybe this could be a cool spot. I just want to drink good beer. Ill just buy mine from the nearest grocery store from now on.

Really nice beer and awesome venue make this craft brewery worth getting off the beaten path and visiting. You might feel a bit uncomfortable walking from the Ybor strip as its in a sketchy looking part of the Ybor district (more industrial looking) so if you are faint of heart I would drive and not bother walking form the strip (7th avenue). The beers here are done very well and the selection isfantastic with a decent mix of house beers on tap ( about 13) as well as a few guest beers which rounds out a ample selection for the average beer lover. The space/tasting room is gorgeous, warm and welcoming. When you first enter you will feel pretty at home and it is not pretentious atmosphere at all. There is plenty of seating inside and up at the bar top. They also have a second story area.

I am giving this brewery 4 stars only because they do not offer a large outdoor seating area for non smokers... I know part of this is due to location and space. Heres the positives: the inside is clean, this brewery smells great (no back bar smell), and the service is excellent! As packed as this place was, there were three bartenders who asked if we were being taken care of! The atmosphere here is authentic, and there is an eclectic crowd whos appreciation for beer is contagious. This place is pet friendly, and the outdoor seating area is covered. Brew Bus stops here, and food trucks frequent this place! I will be coming here again.

Hands down, Coppertail is one of the best breweries in Tampa Bay. Upon my first visit, the very high ceilings and spacious, wide open seating area reminded me of some of the breweries in Asheville, NC. Im a huge fan of porters and wheat beers and Coppertails taste very good and are refreshing. Its a great place to hang out with friends and even play table top games if youd like to. Ive heard they will be serving food very soon (if not already) so they will probably discontinue having food trucks there. I cant wait to go back!
