I have been to FGF a few times to pick up dessert but had never dined here until tonight when my coworkers and I saw the horribly long line at 4 Rivers, so we decided to come here instead. I love their desserts and have always enjoyed when restaurants have a rotating menu so I was very excited to eat a full meal here. Everything on the menu looked great and we were seated immediately upon our arrival. There were several other tables in the restaurant besides ours but initially it didnt prove problematic. We ordered our food -- one of us got the gnocchi and soup, another got the bangers and mash and I opted for the peppered tuna. This is about where the pleasant experience ended. We waited for nearly an hour and a half for our food which is honestly unacceptable to me. Our waitress told us several times that our food "would be ready in a few minutes," so imagine how irritated I was when a few minutes turned into 10 minutes, then 20 then half an hour. The manager came over to our table and apologized, BUT then made up an excuse for the horrible wait. "We just are so busy tonight as you can see!" Yes, I can see youre busy, but thats no excuse to make patrons wait forever for their food. Managers shouldnt make excuses like that. It was almost like she was blaming us for not realizing how busy it was. Our server reiterated the busy comment too which was doubly annoying. Everyone at my table was irritated. As far as the food went, it was actually pretty great. The flavors were perfect on my tuna and the blue cheese/mushroom mix was delicious. I was so perturbed by the manager and the service though that I would be incredibly hesitant to come back. The manager didnt even give us a discount or offer us free drinks or anything despite the fact that we were waiting for TWO hours for our food. I would give this place one more shot and then if the service is truly awful I will not hesitate for a second to dock this place down another star. Their desserts are amazing so maybe just come for that? The poor service and excuses for their setbacks is enough for me to not readily recommend this place to anyone.

This place really disappointed me because I had such high expectations about it before coming. Some people on Yelp had really good reviews on it and I was ready to have my mind blown away. Sadly, I found out as soon as I walked in through the door that there is nothing glorious about this place. To begin with, the decor is awful. I have never been to a place where my mood changed so quickly about wanting some drinks over dessert after I walked into this place. Also, the place looks kind of cheap, really. I expected something a little more like Kool Beanz Cafe and that is certainly not what this place is. The service is just okay. Nothing spectacular about their waiting staff. I suppose the one thing that truly turned me off about this place was that there were gnats flying all around and all I could think of was how there must have been some sort of maggot infestation somewhere...Well, in any case, the desserts were very good although their presentation was lacking. The drinks...awful and super expensive for what they were...I hate to leave such a bad review BUT the place was really not that great. I would pay the same elsewhere, maybe get a smaller portion for dessert BUT at least it would be in a cool atmosphere and the dessert would probably taste the same.

Here is my experience on Sunday, January 31st. I go to Food Glorious Food, where I have eaten countless times through out the years. It was not too busy, but there was a steady Sunday crowd. The eight of us ordered, and four of us had to reorder because of the fact that they had run out of that particular type of food. There were ingredients that were missing from the majority of our dishes such as bacon and gravy. They even brought the wrong soup to one people at our table. After looking around, 90% of the customers did not have food on their tables either. Everyone at our table thought we were being videotaped to see how much ridiculousness we would suffer through. At the end, the waiter gave us $4.00 off to rectify the fact that the soup was completely wrong. Ive been eating at Food Glorious Food for the past 15 years, I wouldve loved to have been compensated for the absolutely torture that our table went through. I still tipped the waiter 20% on a $102.00 bill because it was not his fault. If you cant take the heat, get out of the kitchen. Literally. Everyone makes mistakes, but you have to make it up to the customer. It is too bad I have lost one of Tallahassees best restaurants because of this terrible situation.

I dont ever do this, but I feel inclined to because I was so disappointed. Last night I had a reservation at 7:30pm for a valentines dinner with my boyfriend, and I wanted to treat him to a nice dinner. Money is a little tight for me at the moment b/c I am in grad school, and I was a little worried about the menu prices but I figured... I would suck it up because I had heard such wonderful things about your restaurant. I chose Food Glorious Food over Marine Livingstons, Bonefish, Cypress, Teds, and Kool Beanz based on reviews, menu options, and word of mouth. Everyone seemed to agree that FGF was fantastic and so I made my reservations on Thursday and was so excited for Sat to arrive. However, I can honestly say the ONLY good part of my meal was the fresh bread and the beer. The Baked Brie appetizer was horrible, the fillet with the ale-blue cheese sauce was overpowering, and my entree of caramelized salmon was SO grossly sweet I had it sent back. The server was almost rude and after getting a plain, boring salmon sent back to me, I paid over $70 for a meal I was completely dissatisfied with. I wish I would have gone to somewhere else instead, where I know the food is good!

HORRIBLE service!! We went with a party of 11 on FSU game night when the place was dead. The place smelled of smoke so they had clearly burned something in the kitchen. They took 30 mins just to take our orders. We asked for more bread which took 20 mins. The food did not come out at the same time and they messed up several peoples orders. A friend had to send back the wedge salad because it was missing some ingredients and they never brought her a new one because they forgot. Two of us ordered the tuna martini which took so long to arrive that we were no longer hungry. It was covered in mayo to the point where you could not even taste the tuna. Another friend ordered a rum and coke which came near the end of dinner. Just unacceptable! By the end of dinner everyone was frustrated and our eyes were burning from the smoke that permeated the entire place. When the checks came, they messed those up too and they had the gall to add a 20% tip. Truly, that horrible service deserved no tip!!! Very disappointed with the food, but especially with the horrible service. Considering the place was empty, there is simply no excuse except carelessness. We will not be going back!!!
