TERRIBLE PLACE TO BE!!!!!!! We for the first time visited St. Pete and decided to stop there for a lunch. While we where waiting for our food i looked around. ... filthy, air conditioner ducts full with dust, uniforms of waiters sloppy and dirty, everything looks like with a heavy damage of a history. ... then came our waiter... i ordered Hurricane restaurant salad what should be baby greens plum tomatoes croutons and red onion and also smoked fish paste as an appetizer, one of my daughters ordered - Pino Colada and blackened chicken, other - pasta dish with lobster tail and again the same salad as me - Hurricane rest.salad, my son - Sandwich and fryed Gaither bites and my husband - by recommendation from the waiter - broiled fresh Grouper with onion rings and salad on the side. About 10 min later waiter brought a cocktail for my daughter and almost slammed on the table spilling over the edge - good that we got napkins too. 20 min later food arrived - my fish paste was ok but served with double cracker small packages on a side - some of them were crumbled before i even touch them - not usable for to put fish on. Then came salad with waiters finger in it... he put them on the table with the passion and couple croutons jumped over the edge. We start to question him which one belongs to whom. ... it was served wrong. After about 5 times repeatedly verifying our orders for salads he said that we are confusing him. Then ... he picked up those croutons from the table. .. tossed them back in the salad and switch around the salad dishes with right distribution. My salad was handful of baby greens and on one of the corner of the dish were 4 smallest cherry tomatoes, on other about 5 croutons and on the third about half of the red onion in thick slices (!!). Never had seen this kind of serving. My husband got Grouper (21$ !!) - definitely not fresh fish but from supermarket frozen section goodies (onion rings definitely came from the same place) and the fish was not broiled but fryed - oily and completely tasteless. He dint touch salad because the view of waiters finger in the dish was too overwhelming. Chicken was over salty, lobster pasta dish was swimming in the grease with a pinch of idea of a lobster there somewhere (21$ !!), my salad i didnt touch. .. because it was clearly made from old greens which was blackening already. The bill was almost 104 $ for 5 of us and over a half of the food we left behind. We gave percise amount and no tip. Waiter looked on the payment dropping with no care on the floor the change and first question was.... do we were unsatisfied? We said we dont want to argue about it. When we were leaving we heard lots of F words coming from our waiter..... not addressed directly to us (i hope) but used to describe our visit and our possible complain to the management. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! DONT GO THERE ! ITS A BIGGEST JOKE - and if nothing is changed there. ... IT dont deserve to be called a restaurant. What a shame. .. because the location is a TICKET for a million worthy business. ...

Uncaring Management! Beyond Sad! We visited this restaurant Sunday afternoon while on vacation. I gave our son his mid-day medication and sat the bottle down on the table where we got up and forgot to pick up. Being a family with multiple kids, we just overlooked it. During the rest of our vacation, we went through our rental car and our condo trying to imagine where we had misplaced the bottle of medication. Luckily, I keep a spare bottle with a few pills in it just in case something happens. When u have a special needs kid, you try not to have all your "eggs in one basket" and be prepared for the unexpected. So, anyway, we fly home last night and go through all the luggage thinking surely the medication is somewhere and we have just kept overlooking it. Then it hits me that I am almost positive I left it sitting on the table sunday at lunch at Hurricanes. Then, looking at the bottle, I see our phone number and address on the label. And I wonder why they didnt bother to call to see if they could reach anyone to let us know we had forgotten it. It wasnt an umbrella, it was medication with all our information on it. So, I called this am and talked to a very rude manager who told me it was there and they didnt look to see if there was a number bc they assumed someone was coming right back to get it. Well that was sunday and we didnt leave to come home til Thursday, someone could have called in 4 days! She was extremely uncaring about the situation and how I was to get the mediciation back home to my kid three states away. She wanted me to send her a self addressed envelope, that she would wait 3 days to receive and then she would mail it back which would be another 3 days. That would take another week to get the medicine. UGH! I know she didnt have to but if it had been me, I would have paid the $3 out of my very pocket to ensure a kid got his medicine back and it would have been in the mail Monday with a note that said, "I saw you all from out of state so I wanted to mail this back to you". And if not, I would have least been nice and empathic not a completely rude, uncompassionate manager! So, my local drug store is much more friendly and is getting me a complete order tomorrow. Imagine insurance and a drug store being easier to deal with than a restaurant manager. Sad. As for the restaurant, the food was decent, our waiter was awesome. But this will def make sure that our many trips back to st pete will not be back to hurricanes ran by poor management.

Do Not Work Here, I repeat, DO NOT WORK HERE! Want to pay for your own Apron ($10), drug screen ($31), non-skid shoes ($30-50), credit card/receipt holders (4 for $10), parking permit ($25) memo booklets, Oh and dont forget they wont supply you with a silly little thing like pens?! As a server who has about 5 years experience waiting tables Ive never had to do this at any of the established restaurant Ive worked for in my entire life. But thats not all, youll get to work with a kitchen where your orders arent out for a good 45 mins to a hour if the restaurant is full, if they arent yelling at you because you asked them where your food is, just wait for the earful your table will give you. Because it should take about 15-20 mins for an entree. Want to feel disrespected everyday and thoroughly uncomfortable?! Want a week by week schedule where you dont know what you are working? Look no further because this is the place for you. Not only is the menu a lie because take a closer look, they list some prices but not all. You are not going to see your first paycheck because there wont be one. But hey youll get your 1 free dress code t-shirt on your first day-gee what a perk, Oh but wait theres a catch, youll have to buy the other ones because spills dont happen at all...Right Guys? Oh wait 3 people just quit and management wonders why? Maybe because nobody likes to work for disrespectful assholes who cant do their side jobs or actually work like bus tables or run food-but let that one person who feels obligated to work because they are new do it for them for a week. The only good thing about this place is the food-when youll get it who knows, and the view-but you can get that from standing on the beach like any smart person. The place is run down and needs a makeover badly like paint and menus that actually have the prices on them or drinks that are actually available so the waitstaff isnt guessing. Besides that everyone there is slightly miserable to work with besides the people who have been stuck there, because working in their wake of misery is slightly enjoyable, lol. If you feel dumb enough to spend all your money on a place where youd rather not be by all means work at this restaurant. Or you could go work for a different restaurant who wont treat a newbie like slave labor. Because hey you know there arent a lot of beach side restaurants in the Tampa Bay/ St. Petersburg area that maybe will actually have pens you can write your order with.
