Ive been here before, but this time stuck out. Its post-hurricane Irma and I havent eaten anything but peanut butter jelly sammiches and protein bars for 3 or 4 days. The AC has been out since the storm. Time has lost all meaning. There are more leaves piled at the end of my driveway than on any of the plants in my yard. I needed a reprieve. I drove for what seemed like an eternity. Natures Table was closed. Publix shuttered its doors as I approached. Kelsies Pizza was lit up like a beacon shining in the darkness of impending night, but a sad and weary sign proclaimed, "Sorry! We are closed!" to would-be diners, turning away the tired and poor of cuisine. Hope upon hopes! Ginger and Garlic! I too had heard the rumors that they might be open. Childs tales, I thought initially. Chinese fare is the last resort of victims of ruined Christmas dinners, not hurricanes! But desperate for something with a vegetable or anything other than a Clif bar, I bravely made my way up US-1, dodging the onslaught of vehicles hurdling wildly through unlit intersections with reckless abandon. As I pulled into the parking lot I realized that they were indeed open. I calmly entered and was warmly greeted by a wonderful young lady. I politely inquired how her day was, and she asked if I really wanted to know. I did. She had been on the receiving end of no shortage of angry, hungry and overheated denizens of Brevard county. Here she was, providing a service to the community, selflessly providing quality Chinese food and atmosphere at reasonable prices only to be spat upon by the refuse of Irma. I was mortified. I patiently waited as she dealt with various customers until finally she was ready to take my order. I was quickly informed that I would be the last customer of the night, so the pressure was on to make my decision, but thankfully there is only one dish I require from Chinese food restaurants. Steamed chicken and mixed vegetables. No sauce. An odd choice, I know. Its not one a prototypical American diner would tell you about. When I had concluded making my order, she looked at me, puzzled. I braced for the inevitable "No sauce? What?", but instead she just smiled and asked if I would prefer to add garlic. I was dumbstruck! Terrified! My world was effectively turned upside down. Reluctantly I nodded, and away she went to the kitchen with my order. I sat down as panic began to set in. Had I made a wrong choice in adding garlic? Sure, it adds virtually no caloric content, and only flavor, but my routine was so comforting. Steamed chicken and mixed veggies. No sauce. It was simple. It was safe. I was now venturing into uncharted waters. Eventually, she returned with my food and I wished her a good evening, free from the stress of ill-tempered patrons. As I arrived home I was again unsurprised to find that power had not yet been restored. I donned my headlamp and grabbed a bottle of Sriracha from my lukewarm fridge and began my ritual, slathering the dish in the red, delicious rooster juice. Already, the smell of sweet garlic wafted torward my nostrils, enveloping my head in a cloud of spicy goodness. Maybe it was the hot sauce, or maybe it was the dehydration, but I felt my apprehension begin to ebb. I took a bite. After 4 days of Clif bars. 4 days of stale bread and warm jelly. Id forgotten what food was. My heart immediately skipped a beat and my cares slipped away as I fell deep into a monsoon of garlic rain. I felt free. Life will never be the same, and for that I have Ginger and Garlic to thank.

Food was done quick it was ready when I got there. However that is about the end of the good experience. Paid $30 for the food got it home. I thought for that kind of money it would be some decent portions at least...nope had like 7 pieces of chicken a couple of undercooked stalks of broccoli and two ice cream scoups of rice that tasted like it was made this morning. My wife didnt even get through half of her meal before she gave up trying to eat her "food". The crab Rangoon were cold, the cream cheese was congealed and there was no crab to speak of. The egg rolls tasted bad. There was a flavor to them that I couldnt place... all I know is it wasnt a good flavor. Had to give it 1 star only because there was no way to give it zero stars or else that would be the rating it deserved whatever shine this establishment had in the past it is now long gone. I wouldnt recommend this place to my worst enemy.

The staff seemed nice on my quick 1 minute in to pay and go, and I like how they have a patio outside to eat on. It saddens to me give this place a 3 after all the great reviews that I read which lead me to go there vs. my usual Chinese go to. I ordered a dinner combo which comes with rice and an egg roll, and when I got home I realized I never got an egg roll, which is the best part - I shouldve checked before hand. Also the chicken looked so good, but the pieces are so gummy and chewy it really grossed me out. But on the positive side, the wonton soup was good.

We were looking for a good place closer to us than the one we favor. This was our first try and our last. The food was just awful. Over priced. Chicken sweet and sour tasted like the grease was old and sour. The Egg Roll the same. Fried Rice was not fried rice, cold and lacking even egg. No meat in it, no onion or vegetable for flavor. Soy Sauce didnt even help. I tried to find something I liked about the meal, but ended up dropping it in the trash unfinished. Along with the whole families. What a waste of money. Now I know why the parking lot was empty.

My wife and I ordered the General Tsos chicken and sesame chicken. The chicken was really good but was mostly all breading and hardly any chicken. My wife has trouble digesting certain things and so she took a lot of the breading off and there was hardly any chicken.. we have eaten there three times and that is our only complaint is that some of their chicken items are mostly breading... I think if we are paying over $20 for two meals it should be a bit hardier.. very friendly service though.

Sesame chicken was old, tough, and stringy. I complained, they said sorry, they swiftly took my plate away (I had only eaten a few bites) but still charged me full price for the dinner. They did absolutely nothing! which surprised me because I had been a many time repeat customer before and that was the 1st time Ive ever had a problem with their food. Needless to say, I will not be going back.

The lunch menu was wonderful! The hot and sour soup was the best I ever had because it was packed with the ingredients and not just mainly broth. The servers were very friendly, and the food came out hot. My grandmother and I were very pleased with this place, and we will definitely come back!
