We needed a good mid-week meal in Dr. Phillips but this wasnt a good fit for us. Im super Italian- this isnt. Shut up and eat? Ill just shut up and get back in the car. We asked to sit outside and we were put in a dark side table even though patio (with lights) was nearly empty. All the salt/pepper/cheese/candle were empty- had to steal from other tables. Our waitress didnt know the beers on tap and twice went to go get a beer they didnt have- then came back with something she didnt know the name of, only that it was islamorada. But it took almost 20 mins for my husband to get this, with nothing else offered to drink. The garlic cheese bread was the burnt ends of other loaves with oil garlic and a tiny spit of cheese. The food was fast and the fettuccine alfredo was ok, the clam sauce (white) was like water it was so thin, no creaminess and the ziti was good but... Were vegetarian so we also ordered a walnut and gorgonzola salad to split with our ziti. There was no gorgonzola on it, the walnuts were burnt almost black and by the time our waitress came back we just asked for it to be removed. We frequently dine in our area (Winter Park), were used to a $75 meal for four but this just wasnt worth the cost. 2 stars for a good rose sauce. Next time well just go back to Fresco Cucina Italiana- theyre amazing!

My girlfriend and I bought a groupon for Mama Louise. It was for four people, so I invited a couple I know from my culinary days to do a double date. Our group was comprised of a culinary chef, a pastry chef, a tourism professional, and an IT team builder. From the time we all entered this restaurant to the time we left, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The chef must have visited our table 6 or more times to say hello and make sure our meal was perfect. A gentleman I assume is the owner or manager made 3 stops to say hello and ask if we needed anything. The gentleman performing live music even stopped by a couple of times! Mind you, this does not include the absolute exemplary service our server gave us at every turn! She was so friendly and polite that we joked about offering her a seat to join us after a while. On to the food. From the roasted garlic and mozzarella ciabatta bread to the caesar salad to the classic entrees and finally the desserts, I know that Chef Joe is cooking from the heart, as is his team. For three and a half hours we passed plates around the group, singing the praises of Chef Joe and his team. When we did finally leave, Chef Joe pronounced us family, took our picture for us and invited us back any time.

My husband and I were extremely disappointed! My husband states that this was the worst restaurant meal he has ever had. He has the spaghetti and meatball and found the entire dish to be flavorless and felt as if the sauce came from a can as it had a "tinny" taste to it. I was disappointed in that I cannot have sausage and meat sauces and lasagna are all pre made with sausage. I ordered the Chicken Marsala (which I had to send back) my chicken was under cooked and the Marsala sauce was very bland and looked unappetizing. The hostess and wait staff were friendly, but ultimately the experience was a bust. We were so disappointed as we had heard good things about the restaurant on Prime time Kitchen -boy were we fooled..

What a find!! We had been lamenting the closing of Carreras in the Market place When lo and behold Mama Louise appeared. We have been there twice since their opening and have been more than pleased both times . The Menu offers a wide variety of Italian fare, carefully prepared and served in a timely fashion. Portion sizes were more than adequate , and the server was attentive both times. The owner. Joe Esposito dropped by our table to ensure our satisfaction( trust me he is a source of entertainment all by himself) If first impressions are lasting we have found a new friend. Now as Joe says "Shut Up and Eat! KUDOS

This place is way overpriced (7$ for garlic bread?!?!). I wouldnt mind the price if the food was actually good. The eggplant parmesan was stringy with a weird taste and the pasta and sauce were bland. The salad was cheap with canned tomatoes and 2 olives, they were disgusting btw, with some brown lettuce here and there, also 7$.... The bread was dry, tastes old and had way too much garlic. I paid over 40 bucks for food I had to throw away because it was so awful. Dont go here, I have no clue why this place has over 4 stars, it should have 3 or lower. Will not come back.

This place is awesome! I went there a bit late with my 2 kids, 3.5 and 6 year old. They catered very well and were extremely friendly and courteous. Also gave many options as we are vegetarian and lactose tolerant. On our way out, we ran into Chef Joe and made us feel like family. Invited us back and said he would make something special for my kids. Thanks Chef! Taking the time to say hello and making sure our meal was great is the personalized service that is above and beyond the call of duty and shows how much your customers are appreciated. Thank you!

My wife and I went here on a Groupon and thank God it was a Groupon because over 70 bucks gross meal like this. I told my wife we should have went to Texas Roadhouse. 2 steak dinners for 28.00. I got the chicken parmesan. It taste like old overcooked chicken and my wife got the lasagna and then we got the cheesecake for desert. It taste like something from the supermarket and they said it was homemade. I doubt that . I wouldnt recommend this place and wouldnt go back myself. I was wondering why it was so quiet there when I walked it because it was 5 pm.

We are so fortunate to have this wonderful restaurant in our neighborhood. As soon as you walk in you feel like you have visited a friends home.Every one is so friendly and caring. The atmosphere is wonderful, the food is great, and the portions are very large..We have the Parmigiano and the sauce is fantastic. To add to all this they have entertainment on Thursday,Friday, and Saturday night. On Friday night they have a husband and wife that sing. Her husband plays the guitar and he does it so well that he make it sing.

My husband and I decided to try Mama Louise tonight. We were thoroughly impressed by this place! We had the muscles for appetizers, very delicious. Next, I had the stuffed chicken, so juicy and succulent. My husband had the Zuppa di pesce, oh my gosh, so flavorful! For dessert, I had the cannolis, I was expecting 3 minis. Instead I got three huge cannolis, my husbands brownie sundae could have fed 4 people! Overall, a wonderful meal, exceptional service and we will definitely return very soon!

Despite stating on the groupon you can upgrade it wasnt true. The manager could care less. Seems to me that the baked dishes must be heated up in a microwave since no subitute of a 16.95 baked fish to a clam dish for the same price. The service was very nice. I always liked groupings because they were opportunities to try new restaurants but very disappointed in this one. Would not recommend. Even their 7.95 garlic bread was terrible
