My fiancé and I have been wanting to come here for a while now, this morning we finally got the chance to stop in. We waited for a table for 30 minutes to be seated outside because we were being sat as 5 people instead of 4 and a high chair and were told by Julia the host that she couldnt seat us unless a gentleman got up from outside first due to 5 chairs will be in the way. When all along we couldve been sat. Once we get to our table no server came to us. 20 min later I went back inside to ask the host if we had a server coming to our table. A server then came to our table and said hello and said what can I get you. There was no apology for the wait. She seemed like she was in a bad mood. After we gave our order, I was speaking with my fiancé on how I really didnt even want to eat there anymore. The bus boy overheard me at the next table and went and told the seating host that we were very unhappy there. Thats when the host Julie came to our table and apologized and explained it was her fault that she didnt tell a server they had a table outside. Its crazy how we sat there for 20 minutes while waiting for the server to come greet us and all of the other waitresses didnt stop and ask if we had been greeted by someone. We definitely will not be coming back here again. Service is terrible and they definitely dont work as a team.

I took my 3 kids and husband to this quaint looking diner. The food was awful! My husband had to go get something we needed at the counter 3 times! Then the waiter never apologized that we had to go hunt someone down to get a refill, or just eventually get our dinner. They overcharged us and the waiter did not listen to our order and tried to charge us for what he rang up instead of what we ordered. Food arrived, I took one bite, and it was so awful I couldnt swallow. The waiter never asked me what was wrong with my dinner, or asked how things were. My daughters pizza fell apart and she had to eat it in pieces and my other daughters food came with a side dish but waiter didnt mention this. So my 16 month old got huge pieces of carrots, whole broccoli and cauliflower. She doesnt have enough teeth for those kinds of foods and we couldnt change it to something she could eat when it got there. Then to top it off this "meal" cost me over $50 and of course the waiter wanted a tip even though my husband burned all the calories he consumed in his dinner running back and forth to get things our waiter wouldnt. WORST WASTE MY MONEY AND TIME EVER!

Had a very bad experience years ago at the old location before it burned down. The manager was rude to me and my toddler son and I vowed never to go back. Well my oven died yesterday so we needed to take the kids out to eat and after much begging to give it a second chance at the new location, I gave in. The waitress was nice but the food was terrible. The eggs were watery and tasteless. Sausage was hard on the outside and gushy inside. The bill was over $50 for four people and all dishes were breakfast or salads. They charged for a refill on the kids lemonade. Really? Cmon give a free refill! The walls and windows were dirty and grimey and spider webs in all the lamp fixtures. For a newly opened placed, I was surprised at the dirty conditions. I will stick to First watch or IHOP.

Came in around 8:30pm. Looked like everyone wanted to clean up and go home including our waiter. Waiter was nice, but was cleaning up while trying to serve us at the same time. You should never be cleaning and serving your customer at the same time. Anyway order our food and it took about 30 mins! We were the only customers in the restaurant besides a few outside who has already got their food. Waiter told us chef forgot to cook my burger.... Wow. And on top of that i asked for medium rare and it came out late and overcooked well done. The burger and fries have no taste. I would rather go Dennys or iHop. Such a shame. Would like to support our locals, but with that kind of service and the experience, we will Not be returning.

Awesome atmosphere, good food, great service, Samantha was terrific. The diner look and feel is very cool and fun. I had the meatloaf, partner had the smothered turkey (turkey covered with stuffing and mashed potatoes with garlic bread). The food was good, better than a typical diner, but where this place really shines is the atmosphere. The manager walks around talking with customers like family. Much of the Avalon community seems to come here. If you live in Avalon, chances are youll see someone here you know. Our waitress Samantha was awesome. She was always nearby checking on us, asked great questions and had wonderful suggestions. Thanks for the first of many great experiences!

This was a frustrating morning. Only 2/3 of the tables were seated and we were told we hisad 30 min wait. We had never eaten there before and we decided to wait. We walked outside and were back in 9 minutes. They had already seated a party that arrived after us of the same size and when we asked what happened the host said I called your name and you werent here. I asked how long the wait was for the next seating and she still said 20-25min. This is very frustrating. We just left and based on principle will never return. Of the service starts out like this then I cant imagine the rest of the experience would have been any better.

Service was great and that is the only positive statement I have. The food was not good and over priced. We had a turkey club that smelled as of the meat was bad, sent back the club for a grilled cheese, kids pizza are cheaply made with a pre made/cooked disk of bread, sauce that was so dark it looked like bbq sauce, and cheese that looked like it was made of plastic, fried mushrooms had an odd taste, burger was decent but I feel like I need to may very close to a bathroom. It was almost $50 dollars to for a family of 4 to eat a poorly made diner food.

Food is disgusting. The waiter and waitresses are extremely rude and actually Demand a raise no matter what. They even will shout out in the restaurant how much you left. If the food and service was horrible why even leave a tip. Waiter sucked his teeth when I mentioned it was my four year old birthday... who does that???? I spoke to owner and he actually told me this is not fast food and people like me should stick to going to McDonalds!!!!!!!!!! Then started to use foul language. Dont go, this is a warning from me to you!!!

this is a great restaurant, awesome menu selection. service is good, love their breakfasts. gravy for the gravy and biscuits is meh..not very good.If there was one item i think they could improve on I would say make some real homemade gravy. The stuff they are putting out is bland and tastes like a canned or powdered mix. If they get some real gravy like other restaurants, this place would be the best. Overall a must visit for everything else. Great themeing but music is sometimes a bit to loud.
