The food here is amazing, but based on my experience if you come here alone, or happen to be wearing very casual clothes (athletic shorts, T-shirt, baseball hat, etc), expect to be given the side-eye by your server/management and treated like they expect you to dine-and-dash. This is the second time this has happened to me out of 3 times eating here. I elected to sit outside this time because I was by myself and didnt want to take up any of the large tables inside, I thought that was just a considerate thing to do and the hostess seemed really glad that I was wanting to do that, but this must have been taken by my server as me planning on running out the gate that leads to the street. My server promptly shut and locked it after I sat down and had given my order. Theres a sign right next to the gate saying it must remain unlocked during business hours... I just laughed at how dumb the situation was and tried not to let it bother me. But then I had to order my food, it honestly felt like she was annoyed that I didnt speak/order my food in Spanish. I ignored this nonsense as well and still said "please" "thank you", tried to be as polite as possible the whole time, figured maybe she was having a bad day? Even so, she was just plain rude and short with me any time we interacted. Like she couldnt stand to be around me. Refilled my water only once, AFTER I had already finished all of my food; I was eating there for over an hour... It wasnt even busy at that time either. After experiencing all this I was just dumbfounded, like, "Whats your deal lady? What did I do to deserve this at all??". She had no excuse that I could find for treating me this way. After I left the restaurant, I decided to walk towards the beach, and wouldnt you know as I walked past that gate the same lady was opening it up again. Seriously seconds after I stepped out the front door. That amount of paranoia is just crazy! They/she just immediately assumed I was a criminal and treated me like so. She really messed up too because I used to work for tips, I understand the struggle, and typically tip over 50%. Taking what I ordered into account, it wouldve been around a 70% tip. I decided to give her $1, and she didnt even deserve that, but I cant bring myself to not tip someone. I will say, I cant give 1 Star because the food/coffee is THAT good, and its prepared very fast, but the wait-service that Ive experienced 2 out of 3 times has been horrible. Ive seen previous reviews saying similar things as me, with management responding saying "theyll discuss this with staff" etc etc. Frankly, I doubt this actually happens as those reviews are months old now. Bottom-line, dont make assumptions based on how people look. Yeah, I wasnt dressed like a typical bro-dad with a pastel button-down and khakis; doesnt mean Im a criminal looking to steal food and disgrace a business hard work. What a joke. Never coming here again. You dont deserve my money if you lack basic respect and tolerance for individuality.

Outstanding Cuban Restaurant in North Beach. We were have a beach day away from Fort Lauderdale and ended up nearby. We have been looking for good Cuban food and we found it in Sazon. Whenever I go to a new restaurant, I always look for the icon to indicate the favorites. In this case the menu had a maraca next to local favorites. I decided upon Sazon Pollo Enrollado Relleno (rolled chicken stuffed with mashed sweet plantains with a sweet chimichurri sauce) with a side of rice and beans and a Coke. The dish was out of this world. Sweet and tangy and savory all in one bite. It was definitely an item to be recommended. The rice and beans were consistent and I added them to the leftover chimichurri sauce for an added kick. The waitstaff was impeccable and I highly recommend this place. The only negative is they dont have a fountain soda machine they serve cans. Im a big drinker (not alcohol, just drinker), so I appreciate when a restaurant has a fountain machine that they can give us refills. My nitpicky adjustment of this fabulous restaurant.

Never had an authentic Cuban dish before and only swinged by from Fort Lauderdale for lunch. Ordered their Vaca Frita and Lechon Asado with yellow rice, mashed potato and fries and it was sumptuous and worth it for the price and drive. Cozy and clean ambiance. Fast service and food came out still warm however, the staff were not very welcoming. The lady serving was snotty all the way, cutting me off and assuming I speak their language so I didnt order more. I was still chewing my food and she came and ready to take my plate away and kick me out of the door (asked me 2-3 times in a span of 10 mins or so..LOL, cmon let me enjoy your good food) however I remained nice to her and smiling all the time and left a tip but dang!! how about a single smile and manners? Dont wanna complain to the manager cause she might be having a bad day and needed the job. Maybe just one of those days? Never had that experience from few Hispanic food places Ive been to. Good staff means good business not only good food.

Our server was prompt and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered and I had specific requests for the salmon dish to be rare. He didnt write anything down but food came out perfect. My salmon was cooked on the grill and was rare and seared on the outside with amazing flavor. I ordered the salmon house speciality with a side of fried plantains and a root vegetable. Salmon is my favorite fish, Ive tried it at just about every restaurant I go to because I love seafood but have an especially strong preference for salmon cooked rare. I cant say enough how perfectly it was cooked. Nod to the chef for managing to grill it to perfection. It was a thick cut with great flavor. We also got the appetizer sampler for two. Everything was well spiced and had authentic flavor. I would highly recommend this place. My boyfriend got a glass of wine our server recommended and loved it as well. They have a great selection of wines and they are very reasonably priced. Go there!!!

I have eaten here twice; the most recent visit causing food poisoning. I spent four days in the hospital from old improperly cooked mishandled chicken chunks. People flock here because its cheap, not because the quality of ingredients are of high standards. Their attitude is that of "who cares, there is someone else that will take your seat" because of the high volume of customers looking for decent food at a decent price. Most of the customers require a crane to lift them because of eating bulk instead of quality. I am happy that the owners cousin works with my husband in a company of 600 in Coral Gables. Everyone in the company knows me and now there is o one from the company that will go here again, if they ever had before. STAY AWAY FROM HERE for your own health.
