Pros: -cute place -warm vibes -great smells -bar seats allow you to see the whole food making process behind the scenes.(and damn do they work hard) -great bread Cons: -$10 for a tuna melt is pretty normal, but the AMOUNT of tuna I obtained was PITIFUL. Oliver Twist couldnt get by on this shrimp sized serving of tuna. -Some high end restaurants dont do menu edits, because we want to respect the recipe of the chef... But all a ordered was a tuna melt... When asked to have no tomatoes, I was looked at like I was committing a Cardinal sin, and was told they dont do removals, I would have to remove it myself.... (I paid 100% of the money to them, to make the sandwich I WANTED to order. It seems crazy for them to deny my request to avoid sticking their hand in the tomato tin for 2 wasted slices. -Tuna salad had those light purple raisins(sweeter ones). Just a warning, not really a con as Im sure its probably a nice taste(if you would have ever expected for a second that your tuna melt was going to have raisins) Tl;dr I paid $10 for a tuna melt containing all the things I didnt want, and got less tuna than a $.99 can... But hey, the atmosphere is nice, and it suits the area. Uploaded picture of my tuna melt....

This is a great breakfast spot. First thing youll notice is that there is a line outside. Left is take-out, right is sit down. They dont take reservations. Ill jump ahead to the food: No meat here, veggies, eggs and pastries. Breakfast sandwich - good bread, plenty of egg and a hearty portion Banana pudding:Order this, cause you have to eat something while you wait for your food Nutella toast: Toasted bread spread with nutella, what else do you want? If you order all that for one person, youll be stuffed, be warned. Its lots of bread, so you will be on carb overload. One downside: Expect 30-40 min wait between the line (20 min) and actually getting your food. If they could get their act together on this front, Im sure the waits would be a lot shorter.

Delicious offerings. While they are popular for the variety of toast items, they are just as great of a place for quality pastries and breakfast/brunch foods (other than toast). I ordered their avocado toast and lox sandwich. LOX SANDWICH WAS AMAZING! Avocado toast was great but the toast had a super hard crust so it may be a bit difficult for those wishing to just "cut through" the thing. Delicious regardless. My friends ordered their fancy granola bowl that was not only beautifully plated but amazingly fresh with the different fruits, grains and quality yogurt put together. WOW. Orange juice comes in small glasses so please be aware when ordering if youre hoping for a large glass of zesty refreshment. Croissants were superb!

Great atmosphere, there is nothing else like it here in Miami. 10 points for being Kosher cholov yisrael. If its a Sunday be sure to get there early or youll be waiting in line outside. Hostess took our name but didnt explain we should order at the register once we see a free table..a little confusing. Egg sandwich was ok. If you order shashuka be sure to ask for them to cook the eggs a little, they seemed straight out of the shell. Otherwise it tasted pretty good. Banana Cinnamon Donut was out of this world. Blueberry brioche, great too. American coffee wasnt the best. Ice green tea was delish. Forgot to mention, they have incredible bread.

Ive been a fan of Zak the Baker since day one. Love the food and have introduced many friends and family to the bread and pastries especially. However my experience with the girls behind the counter on two occassions on Sunday mornings have left a lot to be desired. Unmotivated, painfully slow and unengaged. Its a poor representation of a fantastic start-up brand that has been doing so well in the emerging Wynwood neighborhood. Inject some life into those girls and maybe I wont cringe when I pull up Sunday mornings to pick up bread...an activity that takes way too long regardless of how many people are in line.

Zak Stern (aka Zak the Baker) has become legendary in Miami. His Kosher baked goods are beloved, and deservedly so. At the beginning of 2017, without fanfare, Stern turned his bakery space into an Eastern European style deli/restaurant—making Kosher corned beef and gravlax sandwiches and potato kugels—overseen by twenty-five-year-old Chef Melissa Sosa, who spent the past few years working for Stern. The deli started selling out right away. Its worth going to the newly located bakery, too, which is in a bigger space, just a block away. (The croissants are perfectly crispy, buttery, light.

I am not sure if they changed owners or what they changed in order for the restaurant to be so different from what it used to be. Now is absolutely terrible. The food, the service and the aesthetic changed from amazing to simply bad. My soup was extremely salty, this potatoes I ordered were fried and I wasnt even advised but either way they were over fried and it was hard to eat them, my bread was served cold and took forever to toast. I dont like sounding mean but I dont think is fair for people to be given that service when were the once paying for it and not at a low price.

If I can give no stars I would the service sucked and while waiting to order the lady made us wait in the heat outside, while my friend was in line to order I was unable to hold the seat since a server lady didnt get her name rudely came to kick me out until I order. I refuse to give them a cent.. oh and while waiting since its so tight and poorly built inside someone walking out dropped their coffee and guess what was not replaced..I recommend wynwood kitchen and bar or pride and joy over this spot...

Sadly the deli is much different than the original Zak the Baker in the same location. They no longer have the toast sandwiches and the menu is much more limited. The bakery has moved to a different location so the delicious smell is also gone. I think the ventilation is also terrible because my eyes were watering the entire time I was there and my clothes reekof food smells after I left. The tuna salad sandwich was just ok. The waitress was super sweet and helpful though which is why I gave 3 stars.

Smelled really good. Waited in a long line in the middle of lunch. My wife was going to have a soup and salad, and I was excited for a true kosher Reuben. Well, dont make my mistake. They dont serve meat.. It was a salmon Reuben. My bad.. We ended up leaving because I dont eat fish and nothing else looked good. Im a picky eater, i know.. I wish we had eaten something, because it all looked delicious and smelled great. Next time Im in the area, Ill try something and update my review.

Today is the first time eating at Zak the Baker DELI. Its a small quaint restaurant. As soon as you walk through the doors you can smell the aroma of the freshly baked bread in the air. The staff was very friendly, professional and helpful. The owner came out and welcomed me to his restaurant, I ordered his recommendation which was the Panino Special...... I was not disappointed. The delis was amazing!!! I will be back and this amazing hidden jewel will see a lot more of me!!!
