Yet another entry in the "Be Nice" restaurant group. We went on a Sunday morning in the pouring rain, and they had someone helping people out to their cars with an umbrella. Thats super nice! Inside, on the right theres a case full of some of the most delicious desserts, ranging from a gigantic 9 layer cake to really tempting cookies and brownies and other offerings. Next to that is a register with a bunch of candy underneath. Im not sure if the candy is for sale or just for display but it was a cute touch. Then continuing on theres a long lunch counter which is open seating, and a (surprisingly large) dining room. Despite the fact that it was a Sunday morning around 11:45, they got us a seat really quickly. One of the servers came over and got us our drinks while we were waiting for our server, who was busy with another table at the moment. I ordered a grapefruit juice... It was pretty good, though I confess that I was surprised to see the tiny glass it came in. Next time, I think Ill go with coffee. Quickly perusing the menu I saw lots of stuff that sounded pretty amazing, but I was in the mood for breakfast so I got the "Grand Schlam" - 2 Eggs, choice of meat, a latke and your choice of toast or bagel. I got the eggs over easy, and ordered sliced pastrami in place of the traditional breakfast meats (though I once heard a TV chef refer to it as "Jewish bacon"). I didnt really want bread, so I asked if they had anything else I could substitute and I ended up going with sliced tomatoes. The kitchen was a bit slow, and the food was not out as quickly as we would have liked. There was a combination of hangry and running a bit late in play, but it probably was only an extra 5-10 minutes - which isnt bad for a pouring rain Sunday morning if you think about it. The Grand Schlam ended up being really good. The latke was super nice and golden brown on the outside and tasty on the inside, the eggs were done just about perfectly, and the pastrami? Oy vey ;) so good! I just wished that Id ordered the toast. I dont know what I was thinking! My companion was not so happy with her meal, but it was more a case of disappointed expectations rather than poor quality. Pro Tip: The corned beef hash... isnt hash. Its sort of do it yourself. Not what she was expecting. Our server Greg really came through for us when we mentioned we were in a hurry. He had nice hot cloths out for us along with the check almost immediately after our food was delivered, and cashed us out with the quickness when we were ready. The service experience for us was very on-point. I did have a couple complaints. As I mentioned before the grapefruit juice came in a tiny glass. It was like a small rocks glass (maybe smaller). The other complaint was the noise level. It was loud enough that we had to raise our voices quite a bit just to have a conversation. Its also a bit on the pricey side, but that comes with the territory, I think. Definitely a great choice if youre in the neighborhood.

Diamond in the Rough! In an unassuming industrial looking part of downtown Fort Lauderdale one can find the Top Hat Deli. Even from the outside of the building your hopes will not soar given its warehouse appearance. All of that strips away as soon as you walk in and are greeted by a nouveau California style eatery interior full of employees with bright smiling faces! Super friendly place! The cloth napkins are a nice touch given that its not fine dining, but it says "Hey Im more than your average diner". I ordered the cheese omelette which I know to be a boring choice in any restaurant but I found it flavorful and very fluffy! The price was right when taking into consideration the portion I was given. Loved that they had the healthy choice of either tomatoes or fruit as a side in lieu of toast or potatoes. My dining partners both had the french toast.....of course I couldnt resist dipping my fork onto their plates! Yum! Id go back just to experience the French toast made with my favorite Challah bread! Like every great breakfast place they get busier as the morning progresses so get there early!

I knew this wasnt going to be a "real delicatessen" but since the owners other restaurants are usually pretty good, I thought I would give this a try. The inside of the restaurant is super cute and trendy. We were seated in the back. Ordered a pastrami on rye with the potato salad. Pastrami was a bit too greasy and the bread was cut way too thick. The potato salad was delicious. As soon as the food was set down, a server/worker came over to the table to "wipe the condensation" from the air vent above my seat. Hovering over my food, they extended this long pole to clean it. However, mid-meal, I felt a cold drop or two of water on the top of my shirt/chest. Luckily, I was done eating at that point and my food was packaged up to go. I alerted someone about this issue and all he could say was "oh well, we cant help it." Great response. Additionally, when I took my leftovers out to eat the next day, I was missing all of my potato salad. I guess they just happened to forget to box that to go. Really disappointing. This place charges too much to have these issues that are easily fixable.

No doubt!! Really good brunch, sunday. The place was packed but got a table right away for 3... 5 min wait. The food was outstanding. All reviews were on point. Yelp pointed me to this deli and it was not short of amazing. The cookies were delectable.. black and white "hugeness".. dont know if that is a word. But the size bigger than my open hand. Very good service and NICE staff. As usual. This food tiger knows how to do business right. A must, to go to. Lots of parking. And kind of off the beat path from Las olas. But definitely a perfect location. Tip my top hat to you ■| . Great job!

Top Hat Deli was an excellent experience. The service was friendly and the food was great and large sizes (reflected in the prices). Expect $15ish per sandwich (but we each ate one half and took the other home). $4 per cookie (chocolate chip didnt taste as good as it looked, but theres nothing but crumbs left). No complimentary coleslaw/pickle like Juniors (nit-picking). Nova was great (thick cut), tomatoes were fresh, bagel was thinner than a nyc bagel and not as soft inside. They have a bar AND egg creams. Delivery through delivery dudes. Will definitely be back / order again.

Great food and great service. A fabulous addition to the Be Nice family (coconuts, foxy brown, red cow). The food is absolutely outstanding. I wouldnt necessarily call it a Jewish deli, more of a New York deli with a Fort Lauderdale twist. The knishes are delicious but dont have the same appearance as the traditional ones. The sausage that comes with breakfast is more of a bratwurst or Italian sausage. There are burgers and melts, And theres a full bar. Which is a beautiful thing. Would 100% visit over and over and over again for food, atmosphere, and service.
