Cafe Bistro is an oddity because it is located inside of a Nordstrom department store, but I would still classify it as a Hole-in-the-wall. I say this because I have never actually visited this Nordstrom and was having difficulty locating the restaurant. As a matter of fact, I actually had to ask one of the employees in the perfume section where it was located. So here I go up to the second floor not knowing what to expect. The process of ordering a meal from Cafe Bistro is a little confusing but after observing the other patrons, I figured out that you grab a menu from the stand, walk up to the cashier and place your order. You then grab a seat and wait for delivery of your meal. I chose the BISTRO FLAT IRON STEAK FRITES - a 10 ounce flat iron steak prepared to your specification, herb butter, organic arugula salad, bistro french fries with kalamata olive aïoli. $19.75 It was heavenly, the meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare and the french fries are now considered some of my favorite ones in Miami. Im not much of a salad person but the organic arugula salad was surprisingly satisfying. I was also pleased to see that the menu included the calorie counts of each item. (FYI mine was 1339) It wasnt a bad experience at all. I did however decide to take away one star because of the awkwardness that occurred when it came time to leave a tip. We asked our waitress how we could leave tip if we didnt have cash. Apparently you need to make the cashier line again and I guess they run your card again to charge for tip. I really dont know how the process works because i just didnt have the time to wait for the four people in line to place an order just so I could leave a tip.

Still one of the best plates of Roasted Chicken and Pommes Frites youll find in Miami. Chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Fries are nice and crispy, if a bit too salty. They still rank right up there with the fries from 100 Montaditos. Portions are huge. Service is fast, but I had to remind someone that my dish came with aioli. The atmosphere is casual.
