We would come here all of the time and get nothing but great service, but recently they messed up our order and charged us extra. I totally understand everyone makes mistakes but when I let them know about it the manager (Patty) was very rude and asked me what do I want her to do about it. Then when we finally came to an agreement that next time she would take care of my entire order. Well when we ordered again and told them Patty? said she would take care of it, the owner said "well how many meals was messed up?" I said "One? Why does that even matter?" Then he preceded to say "Ok, well we will only take care of one" and I was very upset because I was lied to. After that I got my order and it was messed up again. You would think they would take extra care of customers when it was their fault and make sure it doesnt happen again, but they do not seem to care about their customers. They care about making that extra dollar before the night is over. It is sad because the wait staff was so polite and nice and they knew the value of customer service a lot better than management. Unfortunately for them we will not be back because we are 20-25% tippers and management will eventually flush that restaurant down the drain. This has also happened to a few people I know as well, which is unfortunate for the rest of the staff. Everyone makes mistakes but management should step in and fix it and they just do not seem to care.

In a world of impersonation, duplication and over-stated mediocrity, this authentic Italiano IL Forno pizza pie Ristorante is always a nice surprise, even after the thirty or fortieth time I’ve eaten their Italian cuisine. The veal, eggplant, poultry and fish dishes never disappoint, and the owner’s grandmother’s soup on Saturday’s is a favorite. The cannoli always has that NYC sweet cheese with crisp shell favor, that Florida bakeries can’t seem to ever get right, but IL Forno does it! We don’t dine out often with a large family and all working different hours, but it’s worth my time to drive out-of-my-way on the way home to bring the whole troop a real treat of a consistently delicious meal, or a couple giant pizzas, that if I’m lucky enough to grab a left-over Ive got tomorrow’s lunch in the bag! It’s also nice to see the owner in the house every time. I don’t think the guy’s been back to Italy but twice since he came to America, hardworking new American! ….Salute paesan.

We went here last night, very disappointing compared to previous times. We requested a both and sat outside for almost an hour, they had our name on the list but ignored us. No one ever cam out and offered us drink and by the time they finally came out they had already seated others who arrived after us in the empty booths. The food was not as good as usual. Everyone has a bad night, maybe they were just off their game last night. Earlier Review from another date: The food is very good and the owner comes out to greet his patrons. The dinners can be a bit pricey but worth the money. We had a problem there once and the owner called us to apologize. We went back and the service was great.

I ordered take out and it was awesome. Got the chicken marsala and it was one of the best I ever had. Good portion. Still hot an hour after I picked it up. The chicken was cooked perfect, fresh and the sauce was amazing. The pasta was al dente. Im from jersey so I have plenty of great italian food at home and this place was just as good if not better. I went to carrabas the night before and ordered the same thing and it was dog food. The same meal here was 4 bucks cheaper and 10 times better. Normally I dont write such a long review but this place deserved it. So if your in the area try it out.

I may not come here every week but when I want an authentic Italian dinner and atmosphere, I always come to IL Forno. The owner and waiters always remember me and treat me very well. I love their pizza but they do have some very good dinners on their menu too. Everything on the menu is priced right and has very good value. The only other restaurant that I would give this high of a rating to would be Harrys seafood restaurant in downtown. I will also have to say that this place has some of the nicest people on staff of any of the Lakeland restaurants.

I usually eat there at least once, if not twice a week and its the best, authentic Italian in Lakeland... Their meat sauce is delicious, the Arriabiata (sp?) sauce is sooo tasty but a little spicy (if I dont want as much spice Ill just order their regular marinara sauce and add a little red pepper thats on the tables)... Stuffed shells, baked ziti, I could go on and on - its all very scrumptious... And the service and ambiance cant be beat (they play a lot of Sinatra - which I love)! One of my favorite restaurants in Lakeland! :0 )

I am WAYYYY late to the party... but recently I have had the wonderful experience of dining at Il Forno. I am a long time lover of excellent Italian food, and in my 4 visits, I have been trying all of my favorites and have been so pleased with not just the food, but the service and attitude of the staff! Mick is a true gem and Lakeland is lucky to have a business owner so dedicated to the community! If youre looking for a warm, traditional Italian restaurant, visit Il Forno! You will not be disappointed!

The staff was very pleasant both over the phone as well as in person. Food was ready in such a short amount of time -- hot and fast is, sadly, difficult to find. The prices were very appealing. The 3-star were strictly for the taste of the food. The pizza, although hot and fresh, tasted of grade school cheese pizza with a flavourless, hard crust. The staff kept this above a 1-star. Id try Il Fornos again because of the staff, but certainly not the pizza.

Prices for an XL extra cheese pizza is pretty cheap! My husband thought this place was 5 stars but this is my review. I didnt find it special. The pizza just tasted like any other pizza to me (I love Pizza Hut). I didnt like how the crust was so thin. The garlic knots were DELICIOUS and the marinara was great too. I cannot believe that a Cannoli is $3.49 though. We will probably dine in one time to try everything else out and I will edit my review.

Great Mom&Pop Authentic Italian Food for Chain Restaurant Prices! We wrapped up our first visit into Lakeland with dinner at Il Forno; we were not dissapointed. Garlic knots were fresh; the fettuccine alfredo was creamy; the spaghetti and meatballs was amazing, and the chicken parmesean was spot on. Our server was very friendly and proficient at his job. Great atmosphere and family friendly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I have no idea how this restaurant has so many good reviews. We came in and wasnt even greeted for the first 10 minutes we were there. It wasnt slammed or anything so there was no reason for us not to be seated right away. Then the portions are crazy small for the prices you have to pay for one meal. I will not be returning as the food was nothing to brag about either I could make better Chicken Alfredo in my own kitchen.
