I am a local and have been to Mile Marker 8 many times (over 25 at least), usually after boating. It has a fantastic view of the Intra-coastal waterway and it is a good place to watch sunsets. The bad: Parking is absolutely abysmal, they have less than 10 spots reserved for non-residents & guest and even when there are plenty of spots available, the parking attendants will force you to park two blocks away in a dirt parking lot which toting a baby and two young children, it is a long walk and it is difficult to cross the busy highway safely. Food is extremely overpriced. BEWARE, all of their food is prepackaged and microwaved...several times we have had pizzas delivered to us in the parking lot as their food is so expensive and terrible. Service is the WORST in all of Tampa Bay bar none. Almost on all of our visits, we have waited a frustrating 20-30 minutes before we finally give up and one of the adults walking to the bar in order to get a drink order submitted. Afterward, the server will get mad and then come over with a huffy attitude, of why didnt you simply wait longer?. I mean really, how long should we be waiting when you have three young kids anxious to get a drink of ice-tea, or water? one hour? two hours? Lastly this is a warning to everyone that enjoys liquor from their bar. They dilute their liquor including the Rum, Vodka and possible others with water. This probably didnt start until 2013 or early 2014, but we have proof, as I brew my own beer and after several times visits of receiving extremely weak drinks, I brought my Hydrometer and measured the alcohol content of shots received from their bar. Turns out that 80 proof vodka and rum runs less than 50 proof. We are considering contacting the Pinellas County liquor license authority about this as this is a serious violation. My apologies for this quickly typed review, but my family, several friends that are also locals in the Dunedin, Palm Harbor and Tarpon Springs area have all experienced this together and as locals we feel its worth sharing these negative experiences with others planning to go there. A few more notes, sometimes they will not allow in patrons under the age of 18. This makes no sense as it is random on which days we get confronted about this. So if you have anyone in your group 17 or under, dont take the chance, its not worth getting turned away.

My husband and I had visited Marker 8 before they had put in the food service and had a great time. We decided since they have put in food to take some friends there to enjoy the experience we had before. We were first asked to leave our table for another because where we were sitting was being held for a party. The waitress took about 25 minutes to take our drink order. When she returned another 10 minutes later she then spilled my drink on me. We then sat enjoying the music and water/sun view when the party started showing up, this was about another 15 minutes into our stay so now we have been there about an hour and still no fiid order put in. Our waitress was then taking orders from the party table while we still sat there, when called over to put in our order she said let me just get their drink orders and I will be back, well 10/15 minutes go by no waitress. The manager then comes over to take our order and when we mention we have been waiting over an hour to put in an order he gives us attitude and says " thats why I am here", he took our order and then a group came in and sat behind us, got drinks, food, ate and left, another table was filled gir drinks, food, ate and left still no food for us. My husband went and s/w the manager regarding where our food was only to get attitude that they were doing the best they could and he would check on food. After another 10/15 minutes our food arrived and was cold, our waitress stated that she had no control over the kitchen, then on tip of it all she stated that she had dropped my meal but had her manager go back to kitchen to put in another order. Sad to say we will never return and never refer anyone to go.

We Heard about this place from the deck hand and decided to ck it out. Had a party of 6 and arrived via boat. Docking there isnt the best setup but was do-able. We were greeted by a member of the wait staff and was told we could sit anywhere. Since we had 6, there was only one table that could hold us. We our waitress finally came over (older blonde lady) she was very short, and rude. It was apparent that she didnt want us in her section. I decided to be polite anyway and kill her with kindness. When our food came it was in styrofoam to-go boxes? Kinda weird we all thought. Food was okay.. nothing Ill be going back for. This place may be good for a drink and sunset just watch out for the rude waitress! I will say the rest of the servers seamed pleasant, we just got the bad one.

We had a large party which we had scheduled with them 3 days before hand. Our food took over 45mins to come out and it came out in ramdom order and the server didnt know whos food was whos so he just had us figure it out. This led to some people accidentally getting the wrong food since we had such a large party. The staff was rude and didnt seem to care at all that we were having a difficult time getting our food. Over all it was pretty bad. I understand the servers cant really control how long the kitchen takes to get the food out. But pretend like your sorry and stop being so rude about it. And it waslike pulling teeth getting drinks. We wont go back.

I really like this place: beautiful water / island views, tiki bar atmosphere, sea breeze AND affordable, tasty cheeseburgers! For me this place is all about the location. Right on the intercostal waterway with a view of both Caladesi and Honeymoon Islands this covered outdoor bar and grill is a great place to go to remind yourself of what makes Dunedin special. The water, the boats, the islands...I even saw some dolphins while I was there. The menu is surprisingly affordable for a waterfront venue. My friend ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich special and I had one of my faves here...the Dunedin Cuban sandwich. PS: their waffle fries are great.

Terrible service and bad attitude from their bartender "Brandon". Just went there 10 miinutes to 1PM and asked if we could order lunch. We were told "NO" by their bartender Brandon, who said we can only order lunch after 1 PM, we were also told by the other bartender that they did not have a waiter and that we needed to order from the bar. At 1:05PM, after seeing some people approach the bar ans order food, my husband tried to order some food again, but Brandon told him that yes they were taking order, but that my husband needed to sit down and relax. Certainly, not a way to treat a customer. Brandon had a terrible attitude!

Probably will go back because the music and atmosphere is great. But the service was horrible our waitress was not friendly at all and we had to go get her when we needed something. Also we ordered food when it didnt come after an hour she said oh the kitchen ran out of what we ordered and said did we want something else. We ordered something else after another hour i had to go up to her to cancel it. When i said cancel it she said oh i didnt put your order in the kitchen is closed. But we watched food go out after that. Very disappointed and embarrassed since we invited 4 more people to come. Sad.
