So came to the restaurant at around 8:00 pm and to start off I am 17 year old who wants to be a top Chef and is going to culinary school for it I always find the first thing to judge a restaurant by is the service well this restaurant started off telling me there was no service! The women brings us to our table we are waiting around for her to take our drink orders... 10 minutes later we are still waiting. Finally she comes around and she says sorry we are short staffed and I look around the establishment and I see 2 other families no excuse to not be able to get easy drink orders. Anyways they have the usual for drinks I ordered a Coke and it was watery to much ice for to little drink. I didnt eat anything, nothi g looked appetizing at all!! They had small selections and options. My brother grabbed pizza and a garlic bread and he gagged at both I looked at him and said that is why you dont eat pizza in a Chinese buffet. It looked like it was a microwave pizza! I dont usually give restaurants a 1 star but this one deserves it. I could probably make a 2 times better restaurant then these guys. Not to mention the grill was not even manned not to mention it is dirty

My sister & I were looking for a good, inexpensive Chinese restaurant to eat at one evening and we were really craving this style cuisine... She had been to the New Dragon before and claimed it was very tasty and affordable, so we immediately went here. The service and staff were very friendly and it was not busy at the time so the atmosphere overall was nice, cozy and pleasantly quiet....However, I was disappointed in the food quality. The seafood tasted fake and rubbery, Sushi was bland, Sesame chicken did not look at all like chicken, and the food overall was semi-warm. The only 3 buffet items that were fresh and enjoyable was the honey chicken, wantons & fried rice. After finishing my meal I was handed a ticket for a total of $14.50!!! *gasp* Obviously my sister previously ate there at lunch time when the buffet is half priced and I could not believe they would serve food of that quality for basically $15.00. If I ever return to this place I will be sticking to the grill aspect where my food is FRESH and cooked on the spot! But for that matter id just rather go somewhere else.

We arrived around 8:00, with about 25-30 people already in the restaurant and the trays were mostly either empty or quarter filled with dried out food. The Mongolian Grill trays were empty and had four people waiting for refills (it was posted that only a single trip/plate was allowed) . The seasame chicken was swimming in watery liquid (not sauce) that filled half the tray. The fried rice was over cooked and dark. The white rice cooker had dried rice stuck to the sides and bottom (this was checked before we left and it had been refilled but the rice was already breaking down into mush from too much water being used). The honey chicken looked amazing as it was probably the freshest, but tasted as if a jar of honey had been poured on top as a substitute for an actual sauce. It was super thick and overly sweet. The "bbq" chicken sticks tasted fine but the red dye had been very liberally used. The cream cheese rangoons tasted good.

I was craving some delicious Chinese cuisine at about 6 pm. Unfortunately the nearest restaurant was closed, so I drove the 20 minutes to find a Chinese buffet and wound up here. I had high hopes sitting in the parking lot looking in. The buffet price was $12 which I thought wasnt a bad price. As I walked the buffet I became distressed at the lack of variety, which was pitiful. I picked a meager plate and sat down to eat. Only then did I realize how bad it really was. Everything tasted horrible, even the fresh items. The sweet tea was soured. The Mongolian grill, which was supposed to be the highlight was unmanned. I dont think I will ever reconsider coming back here.

We walked in around 6 pm. It seemed to shock the staff that one of the party was in a wheelchair. We were seated promptly. The waitess was clueless when asked about what drinks were available. When asked for a drink list she brought over a small piece of note paper with about 5 drinks scribbled on it. I ordered a white wine - was brought a small single serve Barefoot Chard. We checked out the buffet - the food looked old, cold and very unappetizing. We left - at across the parking lot at Millers Alehouse - Very good food, service and a real drink / wine / beer list!

Frank & Sharrah Self - Vidor, Texas. We just arrived in Destin for the first time and was looking for a Chinese food buffet for a quick on a budget bite and had no clue which one would be good. We are so glad we picked the New Dragon Mongolian Grill and Buffet. Nice clean restaurant, friendly staff and the food was excellent! Dinner buffet with one trip to the Mongolian Grill where are you choose the items to be cooked on the teppanyaki grill was only $11 .99+tax. We will return to the New Dragon Mongolian grill and buffet the next time we are in Destin.

Ive grown up eating at this place and I honestly think its the best and only Chinese restruant worth going to, the food is great and always freshly out of the kitchen. And the Mongolian grill is always delicious and fun to watch. But when its almost closing time or theres no much people the food will be slow and maybe even dry but that rarely happens. Ps the best time to go Im my opinion is morning or anything before 8 or when its busy to get the best food. , Happy Customer

This place deserves a better rating than it is given. This place easily has some of the better chinese food that I have ever had. I ordered take out and received huge portions of great tasting chinese food (lo mein, sweet and sour chicken, egg drop soup, and crab wontons) in a short amount of time. The delivery person brought it right to the door of my 5th story condo and seemed very greatful to receive a tip. Really, I was pleasently surprised by my entire experience ordering from New Dragon.

New Dragon is a wonderful place. The customer service is incredible. I have not had any experience here where someone is not constantly checking on how everything is and if I needed help finding anything. The food is freshly cooked everyday, throughout the day. I have watched them constantly bring food out of the kitchen to replace the food on the buffet. This is the only Chinese restaurant I will ever go to and I am here eating at least two times a week.

The food wasnt bad until I finally ordered "the destin roll" thinking it couldnt be bad, and they sent me a smashed mess in a tiny package. Absolutely disgusting looking. When I called to complain they offered me a 10% discount on my next order, when I said I wanted my money back they offered me 13....dont order from here. Wish I could upload pictures so you all could share in my disgust. Im not exaggerating in the least, find somewhere else.
