The Pit Masters recently opened in Deland, each day I noticed that the local police and fire department guys have been having lunch here, I thought it was a good sign, but I was so disappointed to find it was more of a wanna be hooters paying more attention to the waitress attire of daisy duke micro jean shorts hoping that the customers wont mind the quality of the food. I ordered brisket sandiwch and my friend ordered pulled pork, the food got there in good time, but I wondered which was the brisket, booth sandwiches were made of the same dry tasteless pork pieces. Last time I checked, brisket was beef not pork. We had to ask our waitress for plates, and BBQ sauce. The fried veggie plate was an oversized plate of heavy battered shrooms, onions zucchini and okra. The batter was overwhelming. A little over friendly our young waitress noticed we had not touched the brisket sandwich and never asked why? We decided our local men have no clue about good BBQ or maybe just on a diet. Save your money and keep driving to Brians just up the street.

Only one star because otherwise I couldnt post this. Sorry if you think Im a "dirt bag" but I tell the truth. Our experience was awful and we will never go back. Half of a chicken consisted of two tiny breasts and two shriveled-up wings, dry as a bone. I didnt order only white meat. I always thought half of a chicken consisted of a breast, wing, thigh and leg. The green beans were boiled. Nothing else. No seasoning whatsoever. The only good thing about the green beans was they served as a gathering spot at the side of the table for flies--counted at least 5 in the bowl. Flies everywhere!!!! To their credit, the brisket and ribs were fine. Hopefully they got consumed before the flies found them.

I live in Saint Augustine. Every Saturday I tend to get on my motorcycle and go. The last 3 Saturdays I have been making the same run that makes Deland the halfway point towards home. The reason is the Pit Master BBQ. I have eaten allot of BBQ is my almost 50 years. I have rarely found a place where the meat falls off the bone on ribs. Shrimp fried the right way and brisket that is sliced and only needs a fork to cut. I dont know about anyone else. Agree with me or not. But you would do yourself a favor if you looking for some of the best BBQ in Florida.

Mike doesnt own the place, Sam does and there is nothign DRY or crumbly about it. Ribs are huge and meaty, hardly any fat. Chicken is moist and has that wonderful smoky taste that bbq should have if someone does it right and Pit Masters certainly does that. Best southern cooking around, even has fried green tomatoes!!!! Sides are plentiful, big and the potato salad is second to none. The only thing small is the price. You get a value for your meal portion and if you walk out hungry, its no ones fault but yours!

We come here at least twice a week. Ive read some bad reviews about Pitmasters written by some dirtbags. The servers are the best and Poppy and Mrs. Jackson are even better. I love them like family. The food is fantastic! If you come here and have a bad experience give them another chance. Nobody is perfect except for the dirtbags I guess. If you want to talk crap go to sonnys down the road. I gaurantee your butt will be an Obama doll factory within 5 minutes of finishing that generic BBQ.

Great atmosphere here in a country setting. Cozy outdoor seating out back. They also have a corn hole court, and a wedding area. Menu is mostly a southern affair, burnt ends brisket is well liked. Quality can very, but that is usually true with any non chain restaurant. They do their best as there are times it gets busy! They also cater. The art work is great and always getting better, if you like horses, barns, airboats, and backwoods this place is for you!

Tonight I had dinner at Pit Master BBQ, and ordered the salad bar. After getting some cottage cheese and peaches and realizing the peaches were totally spoiled, my dinner was over. I told the waitress that the peaches were spoiled and she didnt apologize or offer me something else for my meal. ? Ive enjoyed many good meals there but tonight Im Very disappointed

GREAT service, food was hot even though there was a chill (70° is chilly in Florida) the waitress was very courteous (Thanks, Sam !) and the food great, I had brisket basket and my companion had shrimp, the beer wasnt as cold as we like but otherwise a perfect evening. I would recommend to anyone.

Great place to eat but the mixed greens have changes with the opening of their US 17 location. It was great to eat at the Woodland Blvd site but that is apparently closed. That was real convenient for us working well construction types. Work on the greens because they were the best of the best.

This is some of the best BBQ Ive ever had. I got a sampler with their chicken, ribs, and brisket. All of it was piping hot and tender as can be. The ribs and chicken literally fell off the bone. Besides the excellent food, the service was quick and very hospitable. Ill be returning here soon.

Everything is AMAZING! Such a friendly staff, I usually come once a month, never has my order been wrong. Anything from brisket, Pulled pork, burnt ends and ribs are great! Coleslaw is to die for,if your looking for some good southern cooking and great BBQ this is the joint for you!

Drive by here all the time on my way to/from the Sanford airport. This place is totally worth the stop. Great selection of barbeque classics and homemade sauces. The brisket comes highly recommend, as do the sweet potato fritters. There is also a fresh salad bar.

Worst Beef Brisket sandwich I have ever eaten , do not waste your money here. Brisket sandwiches are supposed to be moist, ours were hard and dry, I thought I was eating mulch, in addition to that the Fries were cold and stale, Ill never eat here ever again!

Wow! Everything was delicious! And the service great!! It was a very good idea to stop here!! My dad wanted to eat BBQ so I Yelp it and here we are!! Very nice place! 100% and price? Pff ridiculous! I spend more in a disgusting McDonalds lol! COME EAT HERE!!

Stop in with my son and sons friend. The waitress was very nice and did a great job. The wings were some of the best Ive ever had. Burnt end dinner was great too. Boys had steak and pulled pork. The cooks knows what they re doing. Its a must when going by.

Love the babyback ribs. Close and convenient to my home. Never had problem with service. Good place to take friends and spend time with them. Have heard music from outdoors venue. Carry out service, have had delicious hamburger twice. Ready for one today.

A true Family Restaurant that makes you feel like youre part of the family. And the caring follows through all of the staff. The food is excellent and if you go hungry its your own fault. To Sam and Jackson I love you both thank you for doing what you do.
