CORAL GABLES, FL. – Conveniently and strategically located in the heart of The Gables, Pasion del Cielo seems to keep up its momentum since it open its doors and it’s a better alternative than the beaten path of Starbucks and Einstein Bros. Bagels on Miracle Mile. At brunch time I noticed that there are no formalities here. Flip-flops, t-shirts and double-breasted suits all waited in line to get their java fix. As a coffee connoisseur, I didn’t notice a huge taste difference among all of their high-altitude coffee beans. Their Brazilian blend which they rate as a “low acidity” didn’t have a distinctive taste and it was medium in acidity. And if you take your coffee with cream or milk it probably won’t taste any differently than Starbucks’ roasted brand. But aside from their coffee taste, Pasion del Cielo does have a very cool décor, especially at night. Comfortable couches with cushions and leather sofa seats are a clear indication that they want you to sit, enjoy your coffee and stay long after you finish. However, the most comfortable seats are always taken by students with laptops or people that come over to work out of the café. The shop has lots of plugs to connect devices and the WiFi is pretty fast here. Thunder struck in the sky as I took my last drink, and the dark clouds were fast approaching. It was a sign to move on. If youre serious about your coffee or consider yourself a coffee elitist, Pasion del Cielo is where you get to be most obnoxious to your friends and co-workers. Im no coffee connoisseur, but it doesnt take a discerning palate to know that the coffee served here is on another level. What separates Pasion del Cielo from other coffee shops in town is freedom of choice (cues Devos groundbreaking album). You see, at Pasion del Cielo, not only do you choose what coffee drink you want (frappe, macchiato, latte, etc.), you get to choose the nationality of the coffee bean as well. You like your coffee aromatic? Go with the Nicaraguan or Peruvian bean. Full body? Try the Brazilian or Colombian. Full flavor is your thing? Go with the Cuban (of course), the Jamaican, or keep it gringo with the Hawaiian bean. Pasion del Cielo offers coffee beans from 11 different countries (2 different beans from Jamaica), so no matter your level of coffee snobbery, one, several or all are sure to suit your discriminating taste buds. WiFi is free for customers and the ambiance is somewhat Starbucky...except the seating here is a lot more comfortable (think comfy sofas, plushy chairs, short stools and a bar-height counter). Dog friendly outdoor seating is also available. Electrical outlets are available both inside and outside. On-street metered parking is plentiful in the surrounding area and the Merrick Place Muncipal Parking Garage is across the street. Literally.

I live in Coral Gabkes 10 year ago I never drink a coffe out.I try ppasion del Cielo y estado tomando cafe casi todos los dias.....es un placesr tenerlos en esta area...exelente servicio !y espexialmete los savores de los cafe .. Lo.recomiendo es un buen citio psra tener un placer a la sensacion del los olores de diferentes granos de cafe...

The only complaint I have about this place is that the seating area only fits so many people. Otherwise its a nice place to hangout for hours and get some work done. The variety of south american coffee beans you get here is a great change from Starbuckss pike place. I usually get the one thats the least acidic cuz they have them rated on the basis of acidity, aroma, taste etc. Their cortaditos are also the best Ive had and they come in little clay cups. I wouldnt recommend the food here so much for the taste -- Graziano, across the street has a good deli.

Walked and the man behind the counter looked at me as if to say"wtf, another one"? I kept me cool because my husband needed a cup of coffee desperately! I waited for some acknowledgment for about 5 mins but not even a smile. I told my husband I wanted to get out of there but he told me to be patient so I continued to wait and see.... Nothing. Walked out! So unpleasant. He should have closed early or called in sick, he sucked!

My experience at Pasion del Cielo here at Coral Gables was fatal, they dont know how to take orders, not so good on service, they dont do coffee good, unfinished work and they give you attitude about it. If you want to go and get a good coffee you should go to the one in dadeland; good service, good food, good coffee and good people I love that place

The stuff are friendly thats one. Two,the coffee selection are good. From bold coffee to light coffee and from different countries. I havent had any of their food by the way it looks,looks yummy. So far, everything I look for in a coffee shop. I just stumble across this little shop. Its a great find in the heart of Coral gables.

I love that they have a variety of coffee from around the world.. You get to learn the difference of coffee flavors from other countries. The pastries look delicious. The environment is pretty quiet and mellow. Its a small place but they have nice study tables and chairs outside.

My two favorite thing about Passion del Cielo are their Iced Caramel Macchiato and that I get to choose which beans are used for my coffee. Some days a strong bean is needed; other days you can just enjoy a gentler cup of coffee.

Really good coffee from around the world. Very charming and cozy place. Dog friendly you can bring your pup in to order then sit outside:-) Pretty yummy selection of desserts-I love the rum sponge cake. Wow! Service is awesome!

Great coffee, and being able to select beans is a nice touch. The shame that there is not many places to sit. Smoothies are too sweet, but pastries are worth trying. Overall, I would come here again if I am around.

The coffee here is way better than any Starbucks or Dunkin donuts coffee I have tried. And its awesome that you have the ability to select the coffee bean from the 6 or 7 diffrent types they have there.

Absolutely love this place! Gardening seating and old European all around. Owner is the best he is really the old fashion kind "meaning customers are first!" Best place for lunch or just a coffee brake.
