My husband and I live in the area, and have been to The Sandbar numerous times for their blackened fish tacos. It was always one of our favorite local spots….. until now. Today, we went there for a beer and our usual order. The place was moderately full when we got there around 2:30pm, and we had a long wait before we caught our waitress’s attention. We placed our drink order with her and waited. When our drinks finally arrived the waitress asked if we’d like to place our order now (for the food) to which we replied “yes” and at which point she turned around and proceeded to walk to the table next to us to take their order first. We didn’t mind, until we watched our waitress walk to several more tables, before she finally returned to take our order. Again, we shrugged it off and placed our order. When our order finally arrived, we each took a bite of our tacos, only to find that there was NO FISH OF ANY KIND inside. The tacos were stuffed with shredded lettuce and shredded cheese to the point of overflowing – but NO FISH. We waited again for our waitress to come back, which she never did, so I walked over the told her that we wanted our bill and that we wanted to see the manager (who was walking around bussing tables and serving meals). The manager came over in a huff, practically told us to get out! He didn’t bother to confirm whether we were telling the truth about no fish in the tacos… until after we paid for the beer and were heading out of the restaurant. He never bothered to apologize or offer to make things right. In fact, he told us “I can’t wait to get rid of you!” As one poster pointed out, the service was awful and their customer service is appaling. Luckily the “snow birds” aren’t here yet, as we would hate to have them exposed to this kind of restaurant while they’re here to visit. As another poster said (about the restaurants attitude) “… if they dont like it then they can go some where else. Says alot about how they treat people.” We will certainly go elsehwere and will advice our friends and neighbors to do likewise. Next time, go down the street to Coconuts on the Beach instead.

Great place if you like warm beer and bad service. When we walked in there was a band playing it was a good band but playing so loud you could not talk to each other. We ordered a beer and the waitress brought them to us warm. When I told her about it she said "I can take it off your bill or bring you another but they all come from the same cooler so it will be warm to." I said well how bout a bucket of beer and we can put ice on them. Now im thinking no big deal she will bring a bucket of beer covered in ice and problem solved. She comes back 10minutes later with a bucket of ice.....no beer. So we then asked her to bring us some beer to put in the ice and waited again with no beer to drink for about 15 minutes at this time. She brings us more warm beer and we place them in ice and order our food finally. My nephew and dad ordered crab legs and shrimp deep fried which after the order was placed the waitress returned to the table to ask my dad "it will cost $5 extra to deep fry your shrimp instead of steaming it is that ok?" I ordered the paradise hamburger plan add bacon $10.99. The waitress said that i should get there "bbq hamburger and make it plan just add bacon and no bbq because it would be easier" $11.99 I said no it cost more Ill just take a plan hamburger add bacon. The food finally comes out looks great untill we start eating it burnt food and suprise my hamburger had bbq sauce on it. Then the beer that we had in ice had a hole in the can and leaked out. We sent the beer and half the food back and ordered papa johns pizza when we left the only thing that was ok was the crab legs.wouldnt recommend this place.

I hate to say it, but my group is sorely dissappointed. Please READ THE WHOLE REVIEW To begin, the food was tastless. We ordered Queso dip and the dip we recieved tasted like the nacho cheese one would purchase at a gas station, not to mention the chips were very stale. The pizza was okay, but the crust was yeasty and a little bit doughy. It took them 30 solid minutes to deliver queso, two slices of pizza and some salsa. We ordered two virgin margaritas, and on our reciept, it showed that not only were the both smoothies but that each one also cost us $10 A PIECE! Now, I understand that Cocoa Beach is a tourist town, but seriously? Finally, the service itself. The bar was cute and very original, but our waitress was more interested in her conversation with the bar tender than making sure our drinks were full, and it wasnt even busy! There were a grand total 20 customers in there, counting our party of four, with at least 5 waiters and waitresses. Seriously? We had to ask another tables waitress THREE times to refill our drinks, and we had to go find our waitress to get our ticket. She was standing at the bar chattering away. When I asked for our ticket, she quite literally said to my face "Yeah, hold on, you need to be patient." Our ticket was a grand total of $61 for queso, two smoothies (because that is what it was put down as on the reciept,) some chicken tenders, two slices of pizza, two pepsis and two waters. WAY TO PRICEY AND SO NOT WORTH IT Yeah, they dont deserve the reviews they have, in my opinion.

Took trip with Fam to Cocoa Beach. Storms hit within an hr of getting setup on the beach and were booted due to lighting. Got hungry and Googled nearby dining & found the Sandbar. I was honestly a bit apprehensive at first as it is basically a dive bar, but it was kid friendly & we were traveling with our 6 yr old. I became more apprehensive as the band was setting up, as my son seems to have really sensitive ears and hates overly loud noises. We moved seats away from the speakers prior to ordering (Anya was very helpful & an outstanding server). The Mahi Mahi fish sandwich was fabulous & Im not one that typically enjoys fish. Definitely get it fried. The Jalapeño white sauce is great, with good flavor but not alot of spice. Nachos were also ordered in our parry and were a hit & my kid said his individual slice of sausage pizza was the best ever, & it was NY style in size for $2. Although we only heard about 4-5 songs of the band they were fabulous. Im prob messing up their name, but I think it was Old Stoney & the House Band. Im pretty sure they are not THE house band for the Sandbar & prob play all around Florida east coast but they great. Laid back jazzy/blues by a bunch of senior rockers. Hope to be there again some day, as well as encounter the band again.

Visited this place while spending my honeymoon at Cocoa Beach. Amazing place, they have the BEST fish tacos. It was a group of four, we all loved the food. They had Karaoke it was cool and funny. The waitress was attentive, didnt make any mistakes with our orders. I regretted not going here last year while visiting the area for the first time, my friend who lives in Kissimmee wanted to take us here but I wanted to go to the Restaurant next to it as I wanted to sit and talk with him, had the idea with the music we wont be able and havent seeing him in 12 yrs. I learned my lesson, appearance is nothing, our worst experience ever. So, dont do like I did. Dont miss the delicious, tasty food here. Also take a walk around, look at the walls, lots of funny interesting things to read everywhere, including the bathroom. Oh by the way the place was very clean, no drunks and no driving after drinking, spotted a few taxis outside.
