Our family has been going here for a couple years, and while it has been a bit run down and it hasnt been perfect, weve had reasonably good experiences and its been a decent idea for a night out with the kids. After tonight, we wont likely return. The place is now under new ownership, and has undergone many changes - mostly bad. For the good changes, the new name is Sunset Point Cinema Bar and Grille and they have some nice, new, black tablecloths on the table. Those were the only positive things we noted this evening. On the bad changes, they have reduced their menu a good bit, removing a good bit of what we enjoyed eating there in the past. They also increased the costs of their kids meals to $6 - not including drink which is an additional $2. This means we literally spent $8 for one of our kids to eat a half box of kraft dinner with an order of frozen fries and a fountain drink. Soft drinks for adults are $3 for a medium or $4 for a large, and 75 cents for refills. Of note, none of the food was notably better than the kraft dinner and frozen fries. We had another kids meal which was burger and fries. It was eaten without complaint, once we asked the waitress to bring the cheese and mayo that had been forgotten. My wife had the fish and chips, which was about as good as any such frozen fare prepared in a fryer. I had wings, which I opted to have mild as they only had mild, too hot to eat and a couple flavors that didnt interest me. They were dull. I also ordered a loaded fries to go with mine, as the wings only came with some celery, and that never arrived. At least I wasnt billed for it. We arrived about 30 minutes early, which is what we have done in the past here, so that we could order our food and eat before the film, but found that the new owners had the movie times back to back, such that a sign said seating would begin 10 minutes before the movie starts. After waiting 20 minutes and seeing that the theater had emptied, we asked if we could go ahead, and they had us wait additionally. We were allowed entry 3 minutes before the scheduled start time of the movie, which then started 10 minutes late. This place has moved down on my list from being a passable place to take the kids, get a quick (if over-priced) meal in, and watch a movie with the family to being a massive cost for a crummy experience.

** UPDATE: Id like to update my earlier review with GOOD NEWS :) The new owners responded to my review, apologized for the situation, and honored the gift certificate, so we went back and had a great time! Sunset Point Cinema in now back on our favorite places to go list. Thank you, Sunset Point Cinema!!! I USED to LOVE this place and was a long-time loyal customer until the new ownership refused to honor a $40 Cinema Cafe gift certificate I had given my son. They said "..when we took over ownership of the cinema we immediately had a huge influx of gift certificates. They all looked different and some were just handwritten on business cards. We had no way of knowing what was real and what was fraudulent (the previous owner didnt/wouldnt tell us) and as new owners we just couldnt take the financial hit that these would have caused." I immediately sent a photograph of the obviously legitimate, signed/numbered/dated gift certificate AND offered bank verification of its purchase (with matching date). I explained, "I certainly hope, as a new owner, you will stand behind your loyal customers." After several days of begging for a reply, I was told "there is nothing (the new owner) can do about the situation and you should initiate a charge back with your bank." Really?!?!? Thats the best you got? FYI, I had visited the "new" venue once before knowing they had turned down my sons gift card and, as a long-time customer, I can tell you, the prices went up, the menu selection went down, the quantity of food (we ordered the same thing as always) was considerable LESS, and the only obvious difference in the venue itself was the addition of tablecloths and a little candle on each table -- nothing to write home about. Its a shame – I would still probably be going there (despite the higher prices and smaller quantities) except that I refuse to support a place that wont stand behind its best customers.

First, Im from Montana and having been to bars in that state I can say that this is a pretty decent place. I can understand how the snobbier people will say that the bathroom mirror or door could be cleaner. However, for the price and experience this place it well worth it. We saw Due Date on 11/10/2010 (Wednesday night 9:15pm showing) and got a dinner salad, potato skins, and a 1/2lb of boneless chicken. All three were good. If you want to drink alcohol I would recommend getting a pitcher. Youre CRAZY to try and get a beer special that will cost less than a pitcher. (Tonight they had Stella Artois bottles for $2.50/ea). There were 3 tables taken for that showing on that night. There were probably 40 tables in the theater and then some additional seating. Also, we couldnt hear the other movie going (from the other side). I think the "bad service" came from people who wanted bottled beer and several of them. This isnt really the type of place that can provide that and low prices which is why I recommend the pitcher. I got ~5 pints from it and it cost $8.95. [Our server got the order, brought the drinks, brought the food, and asked if we wanted stuff removed, and brought a bill. The other two tables that had individual drinks and he went back to them more times than he came to our table because of my awesome foresight. If I offer any criticism it would be that he probably could have sold the table in front of us another round. Thats it.] Also the tables were NOT sticky and I could clearly see that they had been cleaned/sanitized before the show because several were still wet. This might annoy some people if its a full house and you have to sit at one but... dont quite know what to tell ya about that. Relax, it will dry. All in all a very enjoyable and soon-to-be weekly viewing experience.

This place isnt professional at all. We walk in and couldnt find ANY employees. We finally seen one who ran passed us and didnt say anything. We walked in to find a seat and someone came to see us about 10 minutes later. He brought us our order, came to check on us one time and didnt see him until after the movie was over. During the movie, a man came into the theater from the emergency exit, he stood in a few different places and for about 30 minutes, watched some of the movie and finally left. He was not an employeeand he had on an military shirt. When the movie was over we waited and nobody came to see us so we could pay so we went out the door to find our waiter sleeping on a bench. We walked a little up the hall and saw a female worker who stared at us for a few minutes and finally asked if we needed anything and we told her the movie was over. She said "Are you sure?" We told her yes and she went to check. She woke up our waiter and he rang up our receipt and just walked away. The place was very dirty. Very unprofessional but the movie we watched was great.
