I just realized that this place had opened, so I stopped in on Saturday night around 930. Having already read the reviews, it was no real surprise to hear about a 15 minute wait. And if youve ever been next door to Good Stuff (same owner) youre already familiar with the buzzer-call system. So I went outside, lit up a cigarette, and sent a couple emails on my backflip. Every seat out front was occupied, and everyone seemed to be relaxed and enjoying the night. I tried a slice of buffalo chicken and a slice a pepperoni. Plus points for the whole basil leaves glistening on the jumbo slices of pepperoni. the buffalo chicken could use a lil more sauce, but that may just be a luck of the draw type situation. All in All, great place to eat, best pizza ive found on the Hill thus far. Dont rush out on your lunch break thinking you can grab a quick slice and make it back to the grind in 30, as you will likely end up frustrated with sauce on your pants. take an hour or so. Go. Sit. Relax. Drink the 32degree beer and/or freshly prepared sodas. I would give them 4 stars because they dont deliver or take phone orders yet, but thats comin on the 1st of sept. also I didnt notice loud music. **Update** Just now (minutes after writing the above review) I made my way over for round 2. The C-R-E-A-M soda is worth every penny, and i waited for my order of three slices for a grand total of: 3 minutes! clearly someone has been reading the reviews so try to keep an open mind, this place is still new and by default has logistical problems. love it!

I very much relate to the critical reviews. Waited 20 minutes for 2 slices of already-cooked pizza to be warmed at 9:30pm when we were the only people in line. They messed up my order and gave me 3 slices (ok), while my buddy who ordered before me waited 20 minutes to get his 1 slice that he watched be taken off the pizza (???). My sausage slice was good, the cheese was stringy. I got a Hawaiian slice, which was their daily special... felt like I was eating a piece of cardboard thatd been sitting out all day. Of the 6 pieces total at our table, all 6 had black burnt bottom. I guess you can say this place definitely has potential, lets hope they work out their many kinks. Their one red that they brew was very good. Its a great hangout spot, but Ill be sticking with Good Stuff Eatery next door though. Im reviewing the food obviously, but as a side review, coming from southern California, the service industry in general on the east coast really does suck, so that also added to the subpar experience. Not a single person in that place looked happy. Then again, when the owner (Spike) irately chews out his own employees in front of the entire restaurant (which Ive experienced at Good Stuff), I cant imagine the atmosphere is all too positive.

I really wanted to try this pizza but it didnt work out. We are from out of town on a sightseeing weekend and were hungry, early. It was about 10:45am and every shop on the block had their doors propped open for business, including We, The Pizza. We walked in and the aroma of fresh baked pizza was amazing! There were many pizzas all sitting on display, fresh out of the oven waiting to be devoured. We took a few minutes to make our slice decisions and then approached the counter. Now, mind you, we had still not even gotten a "hello" from any of the many staff who were preparing pizza for the day. We waited at the counter, and no one came to help. Finally (without even looking up at us or pausing what she was doing) the woman located closest to the register exclaimed "You know we dont open up till 11am, right?" We left the counter dumbfounded. Cmon guys, less than 10 minutes (by this point) to opening and you cant give me a couple slices?? All the pizza is ready, its just sitting there! Customer Service goes a long way, but clearly this place isnt interested in having customers.

(edited 7/23) When this place first opened it was great. The staff would accommodate my lactose intolerance without fuss. They offered goat cheese or could make a pizza without cheese. Recently, I tried to order a pizza with goat cheese (they dont offer it anymore) or I am told they cant make a pizza without cheese on it. My feeling is, if Papa Johns can do it then We the Pizza should be able to manage it. The last time I called, and I called at an off hour because I know they are always swamped at lunch. I asked what their feta cheese was composed of (feta cheese is typically made from sheeps milk, which I can eat, but it can be made of cows milk or a combination of sheeps and cows milk, which will have me sick) The cashier was noticeably annoyed that I would ask, because she had to find the chef. Then the chef said he didnt know what the feta cheese was composed of. THE CHEF DIDNT KNOW?! How can a chef not know?! NO ONE could bother to read the ingredient list in that whole place? Why go someplace where I get welcomed not like a customer but an annoyance?

A lot of the people posting one-star reviews did so during the restaurants first week or two doing business. Fair enough. I was there, too. Service was slow, employees were confused, some woman fainted in line, paramedics came - it was a huge debacle. On the other hand, the place was absolutely mobbed since the place next door is so good and also owned and operated by Spike. People were packed into that place, it was uncomfortable, and thats not We the Pizzas fault. It made it really hard on them. Since those first couple weeks, though, it has been a breeze to order and the pizza is still great. Buffalo Chicken, Mushroom, plain cheese, pepperoni... my wife and I pick up two larges and snack on them all week. Great stuff. The sodas are fun, too. Judge for yourself. People get sanctimonious about pizza for some reason. Not here on this site, but man, the people in line.... listen.... if New York/New Jersey pizza is so great, move back up there. In the meantime, shut the f*** up.

The pizza is truly amazing, but the delivery service is terrible. The first time, the pizza came on time but the box must have been tipped over in the process because all of the cheese had slide off and was completely stuck to the lid. They replaced that pizza but we had to wait for it to be made and re-delivered. Our second try was far worse. The pizza didnt arrive in the quoted 45mins so we called and were re-assured that it was "just around the corner". After a total of a hour and a half the manager called us to tell us that our pizza had in-fact been delivered to someone else and would be an additional 45 mins. No discount or apology was ever offered. We finally got the manager, Mark, to promise that our next order would be free, but when we called a third time to take him up on that promise he was not there and there was no credit on our account. We are done with this place. Terrible service.
