My husband and I have seen this place when weve driven past from time-to-time. We like to try new places and support local place, so today we went for late lunch-early dinner after running errands. The environment isnt much to look at, but the food more than makes up for the lack of ambiance! And while the place isnt visually interesting, it is neat, orderly and clean, and this cleanliness included the mens restroom my husband says. My husband ordered oxtail and I ordered spare ribs... OMG, the bones slid away from the meat! So tender. We shared our food. We both have completely opposite preferences in food and food flavors,(mot kidding...he likes Cajun and Caribbean, I like middle and near eastern, Indian and Mexican), we both more than enjoyed everything we ate! For sides, we ordered mac n cheese, green beans, potato salad, greens and yams. OMG! The yams (done as a mash) were outstanding. I would go back just for a side of yams, and also the greens...really good. The potato salad was nice. I ordered the bbq sauce on the side because you just never know....but I liked it a lot. We hope people will give this place a try because the food is worth eating, the portions decent and the pricing is reasonable given that they are a mom-and-pop and not a major good chain. So if youre a local or just passing through, its worth your while to give this place a try! Would also have given it give stars just, like other reviewer, if it was renovated. Would give it 4.5 stars now if I could.

I came here with good intentions but ended up being disappointed with my experience. My friend and I came here and bought one platter each and I added on two sides but I wanted to pay the $10 on my credit card and pay the rest in cash. My problem with them was they charged my card $10 and $16 but the manager tried to not give me my $16 refund. Reminding you guys that I paid the other $6 in cash. So save yourselves the trouble and dont go there. Oh yea and the next day I was told to come back to for my refund at 9 and the manager showed up over a half hour later, smh NEVER AGAIN! And the food was terrible tasted like leftovers.

I have had the pleasure of going to Jazzy Jays Soul Food for the past several months since my pastor took me there. I had not heard of prior to then. Now Im there as much as I can. I have had the pork chop sandwich many times(note: you can probably tell its my favorite), I have also had meals there. I can find no complaint at all. The only thing I wish is that it was close to Dover. I travel 12 miles for my sandwiches and dr pepper. The staff is very friendly. They make you feel like theyve known you for years. Service is prompt with a smile, plenty of comfortable sitting/eating space. Id like to give it a 10.

The best soul food resturaunt i have been to in the longest. Im 50 years old and this family oriented resturaunt is throwing down in the kitchen. Do yourself a favor and stop in, i promise you wont be disappointed. My wife made me walk a half of a mile to go get her the fish platter and it was so worth it.

I ordered two platters last night. Platter 1 was turkey wings, red beans and rice, mac and chez, corn with a side of cornbread. Platter 2 was the catfish with yams, collards and mash potatoes with light gravy. The food was absolutely delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant to my family and friends.

Family stopped to get sides. Took over 25 minutes to get two sides: Mac N Cheese and Potatoe Salad. Sadly enough no one cared for either side. Over priced, horrible wait time, and parking a disaster. Had wished for something better in a new local establishment. This was a big miss for us.

My fiancée and I went to Jazzy Jays for the first time today. He got the spare rib platter with 3 sides and I got curry chicken with 2 sides plus cornbread with both meals. We enjoyed our dinner. My favorite item was the mac & cheese. Will definitely be back to try other items on the menu!

Great collard greens! Cornbread and grits were on point! My husband had ribs and I had beef roasted with carrots and potatoes excellently tender and flavorful...honestly its just like my mother makes it! Our wait was not long service was great! Definitely coming back for seconds!

Fried chicken wings still great but the candied yams sre now more like mashed potato yams. Still good taste but they should go back to a more whole potato cut. The collard greens were way to salty my last few visits. The turkey wings sre still great too. Nice portions.

Just nibbled on my order from here. The fish, which was supposed to be catfish, was salty. The mac and cheese definitely was not fresh, the cornbread...was crumbly. The only decent item was the collards. I tried to be supportive but sorry to say I wont be back.

The wait time was horrible, the food was not good to me, Ive had soul food before and this is not it. the people inside werent dressed appropriate, one of the lady armpit was exposed. I love to support black business, but they have to do way better than that.

Warm and welcoming staff from the moment you walk in the door. The catfish is the best Ive ever had! Collards, potato salad, yams, green beans, it was all delicious! They know their soul food!

Great soul food. I had the mashed potatoes with pork ribs with collard greens. So glad this is in my area. I will give it 5 stars however the interior needs renovations. Needs to be cozy
