I have been to this restaurant NUMEROUS/DOZENS of times before but my experience on 12/27/16 sealed the deal that I will not be returning again. I arrived at 7:55 with a party of 8, which is a whole table full of the Hibachi tables. They seated a couple of 2 immediately before us. Then the hostess, who appeared to be the manager because later she was troubleshooting a problem for a waiter who didnt know how to enter in the register someones dinner request that wasnt on the menu....anyway she told us that my party would need to wait 5-10 minutes because they didnt have any tables for us and that this other table was getting ready to leave and all they had to do was clear it off and then we would be seated. We said ok but were confused because we could see that there were at least three Hibachi tables that were completely empty that we could have been seated at..but we waited, and waited, and waited... the members in my party were tired of waiting and looking up other restaurants on their cellphones for us to go to. Not once did they offer to get us a drink or address us as we waited letting us know what was going on. No apology for the wait - NOTHING!! Finally, I walked over to the girl, who I perceived to be the manager, and asked her to explain again why we were still waiting when I could see that there were empty tables. She said that they only open up a certain amount of tables because they only have a certain amount of staff on hand and that we were waiting for the patrons at this other table to leave. I asked her why we couldnt have been seated at on of the other tables and at least gotten our drinks and soup/salad (which comes with almost every meal) rather than making us wait indefinitely. Afterall, the chefs rove the restaurant cooking at the different tables, how difficult would it have been for him to walk to another table to cook for us rather than cooking at the table in which she intended to seat us? At this time the patrons at one of the tables were leaving and they were clearing the table for us to sit.We walked to our table talking amongst ourselves and the overall concensus of us, as patrons, was that the employees just didnt care about the patrons, not the bartender, not the hostess, not the manager. We sat down and they clearly didnt do all they were supposed to when you clear and reset the previous table - there was food, rice and shrimp all over the floor around us that we were trying to avoid stepping on and mashing into the floor as we sat down. Then they immediately seat two guests at another table right after us. We gave our drink orders and then our dinner orders - our waitress was pleasant enough but then when she came back to do refills- before we had gotten our dinners she asked us if we wanted drink refills of our adult beverages and we said, "yes" then she announces "last call". "Last call?, for what?" - she replies "the bar". You are closing the bar and we havent even gotten our dinner yet? What if we want another drink with dinner or after ? So another member of my party tried to order two beers at once since it was "last call". She came back and said she couldnt give him two beers at once. Why on earth would they close the bar before the restaurant closes?? There were at least 4 other full Hibachi tables with patrons at it at this time and the restaurant doesnt close until 10 p, it isnt even 9:00 yet. The ONLY saving grace for this place and the reason that I am giving them 2 stars was that on this evening our Tepanaki Chef was hilarious!! He was quick witted, funny, very personable, and I wish I had gotten his name. He is what saved our evening. If I rated this just on the chef - hed have gotten 5 stars.

I met a group of my friends here tonight. We waited for everyone in our party to come in, which was understandable. We were told our table would be ready in 15 min. After waiting for about 30 min to be seated I sat down at a table that was empty to relax with another friend. The very rude hostess approached us and said "can you move? I have a sushi customer that needs to sit there." She was so rude. She could have found a nicer way to ask us to move maybe even apologize for the wait. We asked how much longer for our table. Again she said 15 min. Needless to say we left. La Hacienda was delicious! Thank you for saving me about $50 hostess from hibatchi. You suck.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and entertainment at Hibachi in Dover. Dinner started with the a salad with a delicious house dressing. Really tasty! The chef was talented and fun. The seafood, chicken, and steak were delicious - full of flavor and very fresh. Wonderful!

I use to go to bear hibachi which is great. Today was my first time going to dover hibachi and it was disgusting. Everything tasted gross and cheap. I will NEVER go there again. I repeat Dover Hibachi is NASTY, if you want Hibachi please go anywhere but Dover Hibachi.

I always have a great time here. Good food and good service. Great place for a large gathering, adult birthdays or even casual business meetups. The chefs here are all talented and pretty funny. They put on a good show while serving you up a delicious meal.

Staff was friendly and promp. Chef was entertaining. Environment and food were just okay. No coffee. No yum yum sauce. No ginger salad dressing. Would try somewhere else if youre looking for good food. The service made the experience better.

Fresh food made right there. Order your steaks under because even if you order medium theyll be over with some cooks. Servers are friendly. Go ahead...try to catch a shrimp or chicken piece in your mouth! Its fun!

It was okay for where its at. Yum Yum sauce and ginger salad dressing are normally a staple for Hibachi restaurants, but this place had neither. Food was good, but could use some decor and lighting upgrades.

Hibachi is by far one of the best restaurants in dover. The prices are a bit above average but its money well spent. The sushi is also top notch and nothing beats watching your dinner prepared with style!

Always excellent food and service. Casual atmosphere where you dont need to be in a hurry. Prices higher by comparison but just order before 6:15pm M-F for early bird prices! Been going here for years.
