August 7th 2014 -- After many years of enjoying the Potbelly Sandwich Chain in Chicago, Washington DC and a few visits to this shop in West Hartford I have been pleased with the quality of the food and the service. This evening when I entered the shop in West Hartford I recognized that food prep area was being cleaning by four employees. It seemed that they were close to putting everything away, I felt badly because I was about to order two shakes and three sandwiches, but I know from prior stores this would not be a problem with 25 minutes to go until closing time. I was shocked when I ordered my shakes and was told that the machines had already been cleaned and broken down, the night manager walked into the back room not paying attention to the conversation I was having with the server. I mentioned that it was 8:35 PM and that they did not close for another twenty five minutes but it was repeated that they had already cleaned the food and drink prep area. Finally feeling very uncomfortable with the three remaining servers smiling at me I realized that the great service that I have come to know with the Potbelly Sandwich Shop was no part of the "store values" in West Hartford CT. My review is all thumbs down, posted hours should be honored by establishment that pride themselves on quality service reputations.

Love this sandwich shop, and while the staff are excellent and the service is fast, I have to say the true star is the chocolate malted milkshake. Probably my favorite milkshake I can get from a chain store. Highly recommend it. There isnt a ton of seating, especially if youre more than two people, but if the weathers nice there are some tables so you can sit outside and enjoy the sun.

Great customer service. They were friendly and welcoming. Made suggestions without being pushy. Milkshakes were great and they even add a little cookie to the straw which was such an unexpected treat. The sandwiche was great location seasoned just right. Cant wait to return!

Large selection of awesome sandwiches. . Located in beautiful downtown West Hartford and a great option if you want a quite and delicious bite but also dont want to go into bankruptcy on an $80 lunch after having just broke the bank at West Elm.

I come twice a month. When i come to get my shots in my back. Their sandwiches r great n so r their shakes n cookies. I make sure i go there since I am coming from Bristol so i make sure i get my sandwich n shake

I just got lunch at pot belly and they did a superb job. I asked to only have a few hot peppers on my sandwich and they did a great job following that direction. It was just the right amount of hot.

Great choices for sandwiches. Fresh and delicious. Array of seating options in a casual atmosphere. Friendly and quick service. My go-to for a quick lunch with a banana smoothie, yum!

The burgers are top notch and they typically have a good beer list. Not a ton of seating though so plan accordingly on the weekend.
