Very youth oriented. College kids running around consistently. "Edgy" artwork displayed in odd places. Though thats all expected in a college town. The part that I cant stand about dog lane is the food. Ive gone twice now, first time getting a simple cheeseburger, the second a roast beef and cheddar sandwich. The burger came with no condiments offered. I assumed it was being touted as a we want you to taste the meat not the ketchup" thing I gave it a shot as it came to me. May honestly have been the single most bland meal Ive ever had in my life. Asked for rare and there was not a hint of pink in the meat. It reminded me of the burgers they passed off as food in school lunches. The roll was somehow soggy on both sides and had lost some appeal. The lettuce though was crisp and fresh. The roast beef was a much better top bun, but the bottom half and the meat had both been liberally slimed at this point. For an $11 sandwich I expect much more than a pathetic portion deli cuts, and a 50cent bag of chips. Why no fries by the way?? All in all, nice people watching. Weird atmosphere. Mediocre overpriced food that Ive tried at least.

This is a great place to go because of a) the location, and b) the food options. As a long time resident of Storrs, Ive switched from place to place in my weekly routine of choosing where to eat out and Ive grown sick or tired of many of the places in the area. Dog Lane Cafe however has enough versatility in their menu to warrant frequent outings. In the summer, they open up onto the patio facing towards the CVS, a prime spot since the sun wont be in your face and it is in the vicinity of the commons area which hosts performances weekly in the summer months. Ive deducted a star only because the prices are on the expensive side, especially considering the food offered, and location. If the food items were a bout $1-2 cheaper, and if some of the drink items (e.g., the smoothies) were about $2-3 cheaper, then this would be a food haven. The service has always been reliable and the ambiance is great. Its a nice place to go with family and friends and I will continue to visit it often in the future.

Awesome little restaurant! Fresh, real food served with a smile. As someone with difficult to manage dietary needs (I cannot eat refined sugar... read your labels, its in just about everything) this place saves my life! Fresh food made on site, lots of organic foods and its so amazingly delicious. I wish I could eat there every day. Great place for a cup of coffee or glass of wine too. Somehow manages to maintain an intimate atmosphere despite being a busy place. Also has outdoor seating!

A real trendy, fresh food, coffees, Smoothies, wine. Located at the beginning of Storrs Downtown shops. Huge menu, cool specials. Restaurant uses local produce and other offerings. Nice dessert case! Casual. You may have to wait in line during peak lunch hours. Great study, laptop area for students and locals. Diverse crowd. Full breakfast menu also. Highly recommend. I stop in every time Im in area.

lobster bisque was very good. grilled cheese was very good. service is excellent. classes ended and the line was out the door. everyone made it move fast. these kids had a great sense of serving. polite, informative and if they walked by they ckd on you. cashier apologized for the short staffing. there is no need to..they can certainly accommodate the crowds!

I decided to try this place for the first time and wasnt really impressed with the customer service. I was ignored for awhile before asked if I have ordered. I ordered an omelette and I did not realize until I got home that it had onions in it which does not sit well with me. Overall good atmosphere, just not so happy with the food.

Go there if you want tasty , delicious food. The sandwiches alone stand out. worth a twenty minute trip. I would frequent this place. I hope they have a customer loyalty card , in the future. As for purchasing a dog , I would not buy a husky from princess pumkin pie in willington ct. Ron demello has a temper and a violent past.

The Dog Lane Cafe is one of my all time favorite restaurants. I visit it probably once every 3 months and I am never let down. The food is exceptional, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the location is great. The menu is full of very well done dishes.

A great spot to stop in the way to your beach rental at the cape. We had a great breakfast for a place that we had no idea existed. Going forward I would expect that we would make the Dog Lane Cafe part of our itinerary on the way to the Cape.

I came in for a quick cup of coffee . I was charged $5 for a medium. Its not good as Starbucks. was very disappointed, severely disgusted. I paid, I left, and I will never go back.

Nice casual atmosphere, not too expensive not too crowded. Food was nicely prepared, the coffee was good, far better than the usual corporate fare.

Its a fine restaurant but not great as a café if you plan to sit down and work due to lack of outlets or wifi. The whole menu is on the pricey side.
